A Birth day

Ruby nodded and watched him feed and burp Caprice she also saw the mess Caprice gave her daddy and smiled taking her from him " all right" she said placing Caprice on her knee and then laying her down on her blanket with her overhead toy so she could play for a while. She kept her eye on Caprice but also let her have some time by her self knowing it was what Caprice needed still. Hearing David compliment the food she smiled " Zoey sent it over I think, I know it came from the main house" she said.

She sat and sipped her cofee and smiled hearing the two of them together and the challange " oh you should ask Jack or Jessie to do it too" she said then laughed as the deal was delt between the two of them. " oh I want to see that" she said " could you live it down if you were beat by a woman?" she asked teasing David as she sat siping her coffee

"Of course," David replied when Ruby asked if he could deal with being beat by a woman. "I was married once. I was defeated by a woman on a regular basis. This time, however, I will win. And, no, I will not put myself up against three werewolves, thank you. One is enough. I don't care if they run with us, but I won't make a wager against three werewolves."

"That's why she beat you on a regular basis," Anise quipped. "You're a bonafide chicken."

"Absolutely correct," David laughed. "Actually, its just that I am wise enough to know when I am better off." Angus came back downstairs, having changed for the second time, and Anise got up and warmed up his coffee and handed it to him.

"Care to try again?" she asked, feeling he needed a bit of a gentler start to his day.

"Thank you," he said, the small gesture convincing him to sit back down at the table.

"So," Anise said. "Ruby said she'd take me to see Ginger if Robert approved. What else can I be doing..." She was interrupted by a crash coming from upstairs in the master bedroom. David ran upstairs before Angus could move.

"Angus, I think its for you," David called. Angus ran upstairs to see that a lipstick was writing on the bedroom mirror.

"She's coming," the lipstick wrote. "NOW!"

"David, take Ruby and the baby and Anise..." Angus shouted running downstairs. "Ruby, get the baby bag." He picked up Caprice and handed her to David.

"If there's a fight coming, I'm not going," Anise said with iron firmness.

"I need you...." Angus began.

"If you need a fighter, you've got one. I'm here. And you said yourself I can fight. Who are we up against?"

"Suzanne..."

"That nitwit?" Anise frowned. "I'm not afraid of her. I'm standing with you."

"I don't have time to argue," Angus said. "Ruby, you're with David..."

"Ready?" David asked Ruby.

Ruby saw Angus return now clean and changed she also saw Anise hand him a fresh cup. Listening to David she chuckled and nodded but jumped alittle hearing a crash from upstairs. She watched as david ran up stairs and she picked up Caprice in her arms. Hearing the worry in his voice as he called to her Ruby acioed the diper bag and several ready made baby bottles to put in it. She listened to Anise talking to Angus and she spoke up." Anise, hes thinking of your safty he can't fight knowing your there and could be hurt" she said hoping she would uncerstand " besides Caprice and I could use your help too" she said looking to agus hoping he would understand she just wanted to keep her safe.

She heard Angus ask if she was ready and nodded " as much as I would love to give her what for, I'm leaving her to you to deal with" she said walking over she kissed him " do what you have to what ever that is." she said and moved to David bag slung over her shoulder.

David ported Ruby out, leaving Anise who had firmly resisted going with him, and this time, he took her to contemporary apartment building in an upscale section of muggle London. He had a key, and he opened it and escorted them in.

"It's a safehouse," David said to her. "Not being used at the moment, so we'll be alright here for a bit. "I personally don't like going to the same place twice in a row if I can help it. Makes us to predictable. Make yourself at home for a bit. Myself, I'm not a fan of contemporary furnishings. I think they look really impersonal and cold, but that's just my opinion."

"Give me a weapon," Anise said to Angus. "I can fight without it, but I'm better with it, especially if that dang wolfsbane is going to hinder me even further."

"Understood. What can you manage?"

"Dagger," she said. "Fenrir's showed all the werewolf women to at least use daggers. Mom doesn't know, or I don't think she does, but it's suicidal to be an underage werewolf with no defense skills."

"Makes sense to me," Angus said. He accio'd one of his own daggers and handed it to her. "I'll loan you this one for now. Stay close to me unless I tell you to go. You do exactly what I tell you or, I swear, you're out of any skirmishes til you're eighteen." She nodded.

"Where is she?"

"I don't know yet," he said. "Maybe not here yet. Reginald! Where is she?" A moment later, Anise pointed to the front door.

"That way," she said. He followed her, and at that moment, Kate apparated out into the yard, followed by Michael, and as they arrived a large fireball flew down from the sky, and Michael grabbed Kate and they apparate several feet away, just as the fireball hit the ground where Kate and Michael had been standing.

"Well, that's one way to get our attention," Michael said.

"It's that big dumb nutter," Anise said hatefully. "I'll get him this time." And just after the words left her mouth, James landed, and he had Suzanne with him.

"Ever notice how one numbskull plus one idjit still equals stupid?" Angus asked her, as he hit his alarm to call for Jack

"Funny how that works," Anise said. "I want the wolf."

"No, you don't. Jack'll have him. If you want to back up Jack, that's fine, but James won't ever land here that Jack won't know and won't have him. You do what Jack tells you. I've got the ninny."

"Gotcha," she said. She ran towards James. "Hey, You! Yeah, you, Stupid! I bet you still wet your den, don't you?"

"I'll get you, you little..." Suzanne began, aiming her wand at Anise. Angus fired the ground at Suzanne's feet, turning the surface beneath her to pure ice. Suzanne fell, landing with her skirt over her head, and she shrieked in embarrassment.

"God, I did not want to see that," Angus said, automatically shutting his eyes for a minute. "Jack!"

James was now flinging himself at Anise, and, despite the fact that he made at least 2 and a half of her, Anise wasn't backing down. She was crouched down in a defensive stance, her dagger drawn. Angus fired a slashing spell at James, hoping to cause a serious wound. And he was hoping that Jack was on the way.

Ruby felt David port her and Caprice away to a safe house . She herd him explain and walked in with Caorice in her arms " one of these days Angus and I will have one day thats not filled with my mother the nit" she said sme what annoyed that yet again she was hiding , but she understood why and it was for the safty of the most presious thing she had Caprice.

Jack dove down to the yard intime to see the fire ball he saw Kate and Michael aperate some whay away from it as it landed " shesh " he said and dove to Angus and Anise he lcughed at Angus words finsing them very apt at that time " come on guys can't you just act like a normal family and let her live her life" he said now getting tired of there antics. He watched as Anise dove for James and then Suzzane fall moments later " eww, thats worse than looking at rotting flesh" he scoffed causing some wind to blow her skirt back over her. " Im gonna have to bleach my eye balls after that." he turned back to look at Angus " you owe me" he joked.

Seeing Anise going for James he watched seeing her fight and he was some what impresed by it. " want me to get her back" he asked Angus as he held out his wand.

"No, get James," Angus told Jack. "The girl will follow your lead." He deliberately did not want James or Suzanne to know Anise's name.

"This isn't about the girl, you muttonhead," James laughed at Jack. "Suzanne has never given a crap about the girl, and she has never come for her. If that's what little-what's-her-name thinks, she needs to get over little conceited herself. This is entirely about that jumped up Junior Slayer. Mr. and Mrs. Gelding wants him dead, and they has no intention of stopping til she gets him. They will take the kid as a bit of fair payment, though, for all he took from them."

"He's a motormouth, isn't he?" Anise frowned.

"Yup," Angus said. He had an idea, and he blew Suzanne's skirt back over her head and cast an Incarcerous to tie her up with ropes, as she was, with her skirt over her head. Suzanne shrieked in embarrassment and rage.

"That'll teach her," Anise laughed.

"Dear God, you trying to blind me, Boy?" Michael yelled. "That's hideous." Michael summoned the drapes from the main house's living room and he wrapped them around her so he didn't have to see far more of Suzanne than any sane person should ever have been subjected to, and he cast an incarcerous of his own so that she was now doubly bound.

"I believe I'll take out the trash now," Kate said. She levitated Suzanne up above Edward's astronomy tower and she secured her to the weathervane on top of the pinnacle of the tower.

"I wonder if I should hope that weathervane holds or not," Angus said.

"Nah," Anise scrunched her nose. "That bum'll bounce anyway." Angus laughed. He wasn't sure where this kid got her quick wit and her caustic tongue but he liked her. James fired a slashing spell and it caught Anise by surprise and cut her back. She winced, but didn't cry out. She spun on him and dove at him slashing in every direction, intending to cut off of him whatever her dagger could reach. Angus was hoping Jack did not get cut by this furious little teenage whirlwind with a knife.

Jack nodded and moved next to Anise but listened to James " oh she knows " he said back to him " she's just pissed she can't be here too" he heard Angs and Anise and laughed out loud as he watched Kate levatate a tied Suzzaneup to the weather vane. " Im hoping it doesn't, wanna bet?" he asked chuckling he heard Anise and laughed again " wow nice come back. He watched her go for James and stayed some what out of range of her daggers "precise strikes" he called to her " and make each count" he moved slightly to James left so he could still see her as they se to dance around James dodging each strike he made " he'll wear out soon enough that or Robert will strike him again."

Anise heard what Jack told her, and she remembered Fenrir telling her the same thing. He had warned her to not let a wound make her less accurate. In her head, she could hear him telling her to focus. She began making her strikes count.

"Hey, you little shite," James frowned at her, as her swipes began to cut now. He taunted Jack. "'Can't' be here or 'won't' be here? That one doesn't have a spine. I've seen her in action before. If she wants to fight with the big boys, she's going to have to grow a backbone because she sure doesn't have one."

Angus was distracted because, for the first time, he saw some sort of misty shape at the edge of the trees, and it looked like it had a rough human form. It was there for a moment, and then he saw something apparating in behind it. Kate apparated over next to Angus.

"Reginald. I see him too. He's warning you. We have more company, Lad," Kate said. "Aim, but hold your fire for a moment." A handful of men walked through the trees. Angus had seen them before. Gelding's men.

"We only want Mrs. Gelding. We were told not to engage unless we had to," one of the men told Angus. "Where is she?" Angus pointed up to the weathervane, and at that moment, Edward and Simone apparated in, wands drawn. They saw the confusion in the yard but when they saw Angus pointing up to the weathervane, Edward looked up and frowned.

"Oh, no, no, no," Edward scowled. "I do not want to look up at my skylight and see that. I think I know who did that."

"No you don't," Angus snickered. "I'll leave you to her. If they can get her down, they can have her." He turned his attentions to Anise. "Need help?"

"No. I. do. not," Anise said, swiping repeatedly at James. James reached up and rested one hand on the top of her head, holding her off, so that she had difficulty reaching him to cut him again.

Jacelongated his claws and swipd at Jame's arm causing several red lines to apear down it. Jack heard seberal aperate in and caught what Angus and Kates words. He also saw the men apear but they did not attack them instead focused on Suzzane up on the weather vane. He moved around to the back of James making sure Anise was doing okay and he sliced down James back hearing him howl as he did " that is for those you hurt." he said as he stepped behind him and placed his claws against James throat " keep going and I will slice you and leave you to bleed , the last face you ever se will be that of your brother slicing you in two." he snarled into his ear.

"Anise," Angus called, "pull back. Come here." He did not trust Jack right at this moment. He wanted to, but he did not trust that Jack wouldn't do some sort of out of control behavior and would swipe at Anise in the process. He had had enough of all of this. He lowered Suzanne from the weathervane, and then he looked at Gelding's men. "Take her and leave. Get out. I spared her this time because he asked me to, but you tell him very clearly that if he lets her loose one more time and she ever comes here again, I will not spare her. I will kill her. I'm tired of her games. This was her very last chance." They picked her up, just as she was, intending to take her home, and this time, the mist he'd seen seemed to wrap itself around Suzanne. The men did not seem to see it, and when they took her and disappeared, Angus could have sworn he heard diabolical laughter.

"He's going to try to kill her," Anise told Angus quietly. "He jumped her so he could go with her."

"Jumped?" Angus asked.

"Think of it as a temporary possession," she said. He nodded.

"Well, better that it happen anywhere but here," Angus replied. She looked at him.

"Your thoughts are really dark," she said.

"New rule. You cannot muck around in my head," he said. She looked at him and laughed.

"Occupational hazard--isn't that what it's called?"

"Yeah, pretty much."

James had been taking Jack's nonsense just about long enough, and he was done letting Jack simply whale on him.

"Enough!" James shouted fiercely. He threw Jack down to the ground and slammed both fists into Jack's rib cage. "I've had enough of your shit, you little pinhead." Then he leaned down into Jack's face. "You wanna leave that little blonde to be a with a fistful of little turds to take care of? Try that one more time, then, because next time, I won't stop." James apparated out.

Angus stood in silence, and the thoughts going through his head weren't ones he was willing to share.

"Angus,.." Anise started.

"Edward, look after her," Angus said, needing to be alone for a bit. He apparated out. Anise went to Edward.

"He's gotten really, really dark. I can't read him," Anise said.

"I know. I saw. Give him a bit to be alone. If he doesn't come back in a couple hours, I'll go get him. I know where he goes," Edward said, wrapping her close. "You did well. I'm proud of you."

Kate and Michael went over to Jack. Robert wasn't home. He was working. Jess was going to be the best that Jack had--unless she decided to take him into St. Mungos.
