We're going on a dragon hunt

Upper Snodgrass is a picturesque English village, or it once was. Many of the thatched roofs are showing signs of singeing. On the outskirts of the village, one house has been entirely burnt out.

Children don't play in the streets, and animals are grazing on the green instead of in the surrounding fields.

The road into the village is barricaded by protesters from People Against Creature Abuse. Angora Buttle has clearly sonorused herself, as she leads their chant:

"Two Four Six Eight!
Dragons Don't Deserve Hate!"

It was pretty much everywhere; the papers would talk of anything more than the Upper Snodgrass dragon and there has been caught some conversations on the topic back at DiagonAlley by Cassabian Ashcroft.

Some wanted it down like a pig for slaughter. Some wanted to protect it. Cassabian's sight was pretty clear the moment he appeared in Upper Snodgrass.


In front of him, a group of protesters. Behind him, a hollow street. Goosebumps ran through his spine. Do not play with a sleeping dragon, they said. They didn't listen. It wasn't on the dragon to pay for people's mistakes. But to protest against it really wasn't the best solution. Matter of fact, it never led to anything. Just a complete mess and cut roads. Cassabian turned around knowing something had to be done. And he thought he knew exactly how to start.

Clytemnestra was absolutely going to take down this dragon. She wasn't absolutely certain how she was going to do it, though. One thing she did know, she needed to get rid of those protesters first.

"Ashcroft!" she called out to the guy ahead of her.

It wasn't the oldest one, though she wouldn't have been surprised to see him here. He seemed to have a finger in every pie. And he was't dressed outrageously enough to be Thorfinn's squeeze. Which left only Cassabian. That might be a difficulty. Clytemnestra had never teased Cass about his problem herself, but plenty of other Slytherins had.

"I suppose you're here about the..." she paused. How would his brother put it? "Current situation?"

The sound of newcomers caught Angora's attention and she began striding up the street.

"HEY!" she boomed, before belatedly casting a quietus charm on her vocal cords.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing here?" she called out to them accusingly.

Cassabian came to a halt having no idea of whom could have ever spotted him. It wasn't like he had told anyone he was to come here... Most people would have called him crazy, if not lunatic, for doing what he was planning to.

He sighed and turned expecting, for some reason to find one of those people. But instead it was Clymnestra. One he was not particularly fond of but then again they had never properly met while in Hogwarts. He raised an eyebrow. "W-why, are y-you?" he questioned. He couldn't deny he was in the opposite side from most of the world, wanting not a reward as it did.

And that being bad enough now the angry crowd had spotted them. Just great! And him thinking he could go without being noticed. Nice job, Cly! He turned to the one that seemed to be the leader. "Nothing" he put his hands in the air defensively. Which was true to the point that right now he was really doing nothing other than planning to leave. "J-just... about to... g-go."

"Of course," Clytemnestra replied with a shrug. "Didn't think I was here to visit my granny, did you?"

The head protester, or whatever she was, took Cassabian by surprise, and Clytemnestra took the opportunity to skip a few paces toward him.

"Just," she said, snaking a hand onto his hip, "about to go into town. Right, Cass?"

"At least y-you are s-saving her th-the t-trouble" Cassabian commented. Whatever she was doing here it could only get to ruin his plan... He couldn't imagine her on the same side as he was right now.

Cassabian's hands being up high prevented him from removing hers off of him and he couldn't have tried to step away. He got them down and glanced at her. "I t-told you the s-spot was wrong... Next t-time I will do th-the guiding."

As Cassabian finished speaking, what could only be described as a leathery sound was carried toward them on the wind. Most people who'd attended Hogwarts in the last 15 years had had a bat wing thrown at their head in potions at some point, and this sounded a lot like a bat wing hurtling through the air. If it had come from a twenty foot bat.

Angora obviously knew what to expect, for she was already hurrying back to her supporters before the sound was backed up with a lilting cry and a long shadow momentarily blocked out the sun as the dragon began circling the village.

Cassabian's attention was drawn up and away to the sound of the dragon approaching. In no time the shadow of the giant creature came covering the land as it approached. He didn't have to hide his next words as the woman had already turned her back on them. "Time to g-go." Those were directed to himself alone not being expecting Clytemnestra to even hear him.

He turned around looking at the surroundings thinking of a plan.
