Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Meeting New People Empty Meeting New People

Post by Aideen Armour Tue Mar 29, 2016 1:12 am

Aideen hurried towards the courtyard on her way from one class to another. As she makes her way across the courtyard a group of students huddled in the corner of the courtyard catch her eye. They had that look of being up to something about them. Aideen pauses wondering whether she should find out what the students were doing or whether to keep going towards class. As it turned out Aideen was going to find out anyway because at that moment one of the students catch her staring. He points her out to his friends and the lot begin to stare her down.

Aideen pulls back her shoulders, lifts her head and stares back. There was no way she was backing down now. Staring at her like that was a challenge. She moves across to the group who glare at her,
"What are you doing?" She asks.

"That's none of your business. Now scram" sneers one of the group. Aideen crosses her arms, she wasn't moving anywhere. The group seem to realise this and huddle closer as if they could intimidate her. It was almost laughable. Aideen flicks a piece of hair over her shoulder,

"Careful now wouldn't want a professor coming past now would we?" Aideen says casually and the group glance at each other. It was true they didn't want to be caught. As they look around Aideen notices the group is hiding a bunch of books. She lets out a breath, really they stole someone's school books? Aideen shakes her head, that was pretty pathetic.

((Just so you know, most of PA uses third person Smile ))

"Right, who were they again?"

Finn Grimm was being dragged through the courtyard by an uppity Ace Longbottom, looking miserable. Finn did not know why she had mentioned to her dormmates upon entering the room between class periods, but it had turned Ace into some sort of soldier. The girl looked ridiculous, her rage not at all a comfortable accessory to her school uniform, which made her look just a little less than intimidating.

She looked like a rabid squirrel, in Finn's opinion.

"Really," Finn said, trying to pull out of Ace's grip. "It's fine. I'm sure they'll give it back-"

"Them?" Ace demanded, pointing at a group of third years who immediately jumped in fear. Finn shook her head miserable. "What books?"

"Runes... History of Magic-"

"Who steals a History of Magic book?!" Ace said, nearly rounding on her friend, but she kept pushing onward. Her eyes met suddenly with a fourth year, Jamison she was pretty sure, who suddenly blocked a stack of books from sight.

"Right," Ace mumbled, releasing Finn.

"Please, don't-"

"Hey!" Ace stalked over, shoving a Slytherin girl out of the way. "Here's the deal - give me my friends books back, or I'll make you regret it." She glanced at the Slytherin - she recognized the girl as Aideen, someone whom she had a bit of respect for because of her no-bull attitude, but Ace was not about to let that excuse theft. "You too, Armour? Really? Alright, give us the books then."

(( okay thanks for letting me know Smile ))

Aideen did not appreciate being shoved to the side, quiet literally too. So when Ace Longbottom came storming over and pushed Aideen out of the way Aideen suddenly looked like she might hex someone.

"Honestly Longbottom I have better things to do with my time then steal textbooks" Aideen said quiet clearly angered now not only for being shoved but also that someone would ever consider her doing something so stupid.

In response to Ace's demand the group of fourth years smirked a little, after all Ace was outnumbered. "Yeah right. I'd like to see you two girls make us". Within a split second Aideen had her wand out and pointed at the boys head the look in her eyes quiet clearly showing she had no problem using it. Rather pale now he had a wand to his head the fourth year looked between the enraged girls and slowly held the books out to Ace. They could always steal them again later he supposed.

Ace turned her eyes on the Slytherin girl. The two of them both had those cool, sharp eyes and when they met, she could almost hear a clash of steel, the sparring evident despite their silence.

"Ace-" came Finn's soft, agonized voice. Ace looked back but then turned right back to the unfolding confrontation.

Aideen and Ace's reactions were immediate and identical. Both arms came out at full extension, wands aimed at the culprits. Ace wanted to look at the girl in surprise, but her focus was kept by what had brought her there. She snatched the books from the kid's group and held them out for Finn, who stumbled forward and murmured, "Okay, thank you, can we-"

"You can go," Ace commanded to the group. They rolled their eyes and slid away. Ace lowered her wand and turned, looking at the other girls. And as much as she hated it...

"Sorry."

Aideen watched from the corner of her eye as Ace's actions mirrored her own. She would have looked at the other girl but to do so would have ruined whatever power they had over the group. So much could be lost or gained by a simple look. As the group slid away Aideen slowly lowered her wand and turned to Ace who she noticed had also lowered her wand. Aideen stared at the girl in silence for a moment curious as to what might happen next, half wanting to know more about this girl who Aideen seemed to share much of the same attitude with and half cautious because one could never be too careful.

"Sorry" said Ace. Aideen stared at her for a moment longer and then nodded her head admiring for a brief moment how Ace bit back her pride to apologise.

"It happens" she responded back and tucked away her wand. "How did they get those book anyway?" She asked more to Ace the Finn the annoyed tone in her voice from earlier gone and replaced instead by a lighter tone with perhaps a note of respect in it.
