Studying is evil (Open)

Danny sat in his common room and stared at the fire in front of him. He was studying up for his Transfiguration test and couldnt stay focused. He groaned and slammed the book shut and just flopped back on to the couch, "I give up." He said and covered his eyes with his arms and just stayed there. he groaned and threw the book across the room and watched it fly through the air. Why were his classes so hard this year. It was as if he couldnt do any of the lessons, the homework was next to impossible for him to do, and the essays, dont even get him started on those.

He heard the common room portrait door open and just ignored it. He doubted it was anyone he cared about anyway. He just stayed lying down with his arm over his eyes so he couldnt even see who it was that had entered. He heard the shuffling of feet as a bunch of students entered the common room, returning from dinner which he had skipped to study. He regretted that now as his stomach began to growl violently. He tried his best to ignore it, but the pain was too much to be ignored.

Athena walked into the Gryffindor common room after eating, she was going to change out of her robe and paint some pictures down in the room of requirements, Vaughn was with his friends which she didn't mind. As a book came flying across the common room, she squealed as the book landed on the floor. Picking up the book she seen that it was a Transfigurations book, one of her favorite subject at Hogwarts, she was quite good in it. Walking over towards the boy on the couch she cleared her throatto gget his attention. "I believe that this belongs to you, what did this Transfigurations book ever do to you? "Athena asked him curiously smirking at him.  


" You know, throwing your book you're never going to learn it, besides Transfigurations is easy."said Athena honestly. She turned a pillow into a bunny as they done in Transfigurations class. "What are you having trouble with? Maybe I can help. "said Athena petting the bunny. " Sorry buddy but I got to change you back to a pillow, although you're more softer then the pillow! "said Athena honestly giggling.

Danny looked up and saw a very pretty girl who he had seen around his house before. He believed her name to be Athena, "Im sorry if my throwing of the book scared you. The subject is just so frustrating." He sat up, his black hair falling in his face. He sighed and looked at her, "Im having trouble with the assigned homework. The pillow to rabbit thing." He said blushing as she did it with such ease. "Im Danny by the way. Danny Sinclair." He waited for her to start freaking out over his last name and asking him about his brother Austin, the famous quidditch player

Athena gave him a friendly smile. " It scared me a bit, probably because it came flying my way! "said Athena honestly. " Transfigurations is actually one of my favorite subjects besides Charms and DADA, I jijust love all the spells and Charms, just so fascinating. " said Athena. " Oh dear, well...maybe I can help you, one friend to another? "Athena asked him softly but curiously. " Wait Sinclair, as in Austin Sinclair the famous Quidditch player? "Athena asked him. " I'm Athena, Athena Abercrombie. " said Athena as she took a button and turned into into a furry white bunny. " I like bunnies, there so cute don't you think? "Athena asked him.

Danny smiled up at her, a faint blush on his cheeks. This was a weird occasion as he never blushed when he was around a girl before. He cleared his throat and tried to return to his normal complexion. "It is a fascinating subject, its just so bloody complicated for me for some reason." He smiled when she offered to help her, "I would really appreciate that." He sighed when she asked about Austin and nodded, "Yeah. Hes my older brother." He rubbed the back of his neck nervously and smiled as she introduced herself. He stood and bowed, "Pleasure to make your acquaintance miss Abercrombie. As for the bunnies, they are quite adorable. But not as adorable as you."

Athena nodded her head understanding what he meant. " I understand, I had trouble with it as well in my earlier years, but you got to understand the principal of it before you can turns animals into buttons or vice versa. " said Athena honestly. " Transfigurations is very firm and decisive movements, that's what makes it difficult, so many people are used to moving their wands. " said Athena honestly. Athena smiled. " Sure no problem, let me see you turn this button into a bunny, I want to see what you're doing wrong. "said Athena getting a button was a bunny that she turned into a button. "That's cool, he was a Gryffindor himself to right? I think I read about him in papers and stuff, he's pretty good from what I read. "said Athena honestly. " Aw...you're to kind and sweet, but I'm not as soft and cuddly as a bunny, there furs are so soft and warm. " said Athena honestly thinking about Vaughn as she pet the bunny. He was like a bunny, soft and warm and very cuddly, she might call him Vanny Honey bunny, she giggled inwardly at the thought of it.

Danny listened to her, mesmerized by the melodic sound of her voice. Then he realized she had given him a task. He shook his head softly and refocused on the task at hand. He grabbed his want and pointed it at the button. He said the spell and ended up with a furry button, but still a button none the less. He sighed and sat back down, "Its hopeless Miss Abercrombie." When she asked more about Austin he nodded, "Yeah he was." He pushed his hair back but it just flopped right back into his eyes. He smiled as she giggled, wondering what she was thinking about

Athena looked and seen what he was doing, she nodded as she seen that the button was now a furry button. "You're moving your wand to much, not that much in your wrist, just let your wand do the work."said Athena softly but honestly. " Focoused on the button transforming into a bunny and not the button being there."said Athena. " Try again Danny, I'm sure you can do it, just think of a bunny in front of you, not the button. " said Athena reminding him. " Wow...that's awesome, I don't like flying on a broom, I'm scared of flying. " said Athena honestly but shivering at the thought of it.

Danny nodded at her words, trying not to get mesmerized again by the sound of it. He held his wand and did the spell again, this time, her had a furry little black bunny. He smiled and reached out and rubbed the rabbit behind its ears. He chuckled and smiled, "I did it." He pulled Athena into a hug and smiled, "I really owe you. I was going to fail that test if I didnt figure that out." He smiled down at her without realizing he was still holding her. He cleared his throat and stepped away a bit, "Sorry." He blushed and rubbed the back of his neck

Athena smiled as he turned the button into a black bunny. " You did it Danny, I told you that you could! "said Athena giving him a soft warm smile. As he pulled her into a hug she hugged him back and smiled. " Just imagine a bunny or whatever animal your suppose to transfer and let the wand do the work, you're it's master, that's why it chosen you. " said Athena. Athena laughed. " Nah...I was just helping out a fellow house mate and friend, it's not big deal. " said Athena honestly. " Um...it's ok, it was just a friendly hug right? "Athena asked him giving him a soft warm smile.
