Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

She's adorable.

Caspian caught himself just staring at her, almost lovingly, like he'd done it so many more times than just now. It felt almost natural to be like this with Trisha though he hadn't ever really acknowledged her until now. Even though she had been in the group with his friends since the beginning of the year. That was an embarrassing thought, honestly. He had his future wife with him basically the entire time but he had never paid attention to her.

Well.. it wasn't like she paid attention to him either. She had seemed more interested in Baldric in the few times he'd actually realized she was there. He had honestly never thought that it would have matter to him so much that he had never really held a conversation with her or anything before, considering they had been together at one point or another.

Caspian blinked at her a couple of times as she spoke. Go over during holiday? It didn't sound like a bad idea, he honestly doubted that his family would be happy with the girl he was supposed to marry. So he definitely preferred to be somewhere else than hear what they had to say about the entire thing. He already knew how they reacted to Robin's marriage and he really didn't want the same reaction or a worse one with his own.

"I can go both days." he told her quickly. "I mean, Christmas Eve and Day. If that doesn't bother you. Or your family." he added. He wondered if he should tell her that he would rather be with her and her family than his on those days. "Um.." he started, thinking about what he should say. The Ravenclaw glanced at her before shaking his head and clearing his throat. "Nevermind." he muttered softly, deciding he shouldn't say anything.

"If I'm around them a few times, they might get used to be quicker than if I only meet them once and then end up almost randomly being married with their daughter." he said thoughtfully. "So, maybe after those days, we can kind of ease them into the news?" he asked. There was really no good way to tell anyone that they were going to get married in a month. The only reason he didn't have to inform his parents was because they would probably know by the time he went home.

No doubt they would already know the name of his fiance as well. That wouldn't be good. Caspian stiffened slightly as he realized that his parents could make a big scene out of knowing who she was. But it wasn't like he could hide it. Damn.

There was just no point though. And it wasn't like his parents could do anything about it. He was getting married to this girl whether they liked it or not. "Um.. At some point.. you're going to have to meet my parents too. You know that, right?" he asked her in a voice barely above a whisper. It was easy to tell that he was frightened by the thought. It could be like starting a war if he brought her anywhere near them, but she needed to meet them and they her.

Trisha’s hair floated around her face to the extent that she reached up to push it away, just in time to turn and watch him as he spoke. Both days? Her siblings wouldn’t quite understand at first, but no one in her family would be adverse to it. She was half tempted to say he could stay the whole break, but she had a feeling that had something to do with the fact that they were getting on fairly well and she didn’t want to lose it. Plus, she admitted silently, she had this strange sort of giddy feeling that she didn’t understand but actually quite liked.

“Yeah, sure. I’ll send you an owl with how to get to mine, yeah? We have a fireplace set up with the floo system, so that should work out.” Trisha shrugged, hoping that would actually be a suitable solution. The real problem would be announcing to her family what the future would hold for her. Surely they would be worried. But if they took to Caspian as quickly as she had, they would be fine.

“You’re right, of course,” she added, ignoring his apparent attempt to say something else. She didn’t want to focus on anything that could make him uncomfortable. “I mean, if we act like it’s not a big deal, they will too.” Not that it wasn’t a big deal, Tris reminded herself with a mental frown. Tilting her head to the side, she watched him as he thought through whatever he was focused on, knowing full well that he could catch her.

Her breath caught at his words, even though she had been prepared for them. Sitting up straighter, Trisha nodded. She knew. “Yes, I- I know. I just… Let’s figure that after mine, maybe? If we can get one set on our side, it might give us more, um, confidence, I suppose.”

Pulling her knees up to her chest, she turned so she was facing him with her chin resting on the tops of her knees as her arms wrapped round her legs. “This can work. If the Ministry changes things later… well, we can figure it out when the time comes.” She wasn’t sure how she was so calm about all of this, honestly. Maybe it was that her eyes already wanted to memorize his face and that she found herself liking him sitting so close to her.
