GENERAL APPEARANCE:
Nessarose is beautiful in a rather unconventional way. She has cheeks that round out when she smiles along with eyes that practically squint when she laughs. She's got laugh lines on the corners of her eyes and around her mouth. Her nose is rounded on the tip, but rather thin. Her eyes may not be completely even when it comes to location on her face. Her eyebrows aren't too broad, but they're even and the same color as her hair. Her teeth are straight – a stroke of luck, she calls it – and not so bright they seem fake-y.
Her complexion isn't perfect, but she isn't too very worried about it. She's more concerned with her schooling than with her looks. She's kind of lucky because she has very subtle, natural beauty so even if she went out not caring, it probably wouldn't mean that she looked a complete mess.
When she's stressed, however, she can sometimes get into a complete state of frustration and just absolutely not care what anyone thinks about her. If she's stressed enough, she will spend an entire day in whatever clothes feel the most comfortable.
When it comes to clothing, Nessa prefers jackets to sweaters, tank tops to tee shirts, and jeans or shorts to skirts. Dressing up entertains her, mind you, but she won't do it every day if she can help it. Heels, she believes, could be worn with nearly anything, and she tends to wear them if only to look taller than she is. Height makes her feel stronger and more noticeable.
Make-up wise, she goes for the minimalist look. She doesn't really need eyeliner to make her eyes “pop” due to her long, dark eyelashes. She goes for light blush, maybe lipgloss, but nothing excessive.

VERITASERUM: She doesn't know it, but she isn't Pureblooded like her parents were told when they adopted her. It was a choice by the woman in the adoption agency, who thought that Nessa would be given her best chance with a wealthy family who so desperately wanted someone. The woman didn't know what had happened to the first daughter, or that she had even existed.
She also hasn't told anyone that she isn't their real daughter. She's never seen a reason to. Those who knew her as a child know she's adopted, and those who don't.. well, Nessa doesn't think they need to know. If no one talks about it, there's no problems.
MIRROR OF ERISED: To overcome her fear of learning the truth, and then find it.
PERSONALITY:
What's particularly interesting about Nessarose is that while she wants all of this power, and seems rather dark, she actually wants to go into some kind of Family Law career to protect children like herself and the original Bridgewood daughter. Admittedly, she's interested in being powerful enough to help them, but she also thinks it incredibly unfair that these children aren't spoken for – or if they are, then not very well.
Now and again, Nessarose has considered taking up professional Quidditch, but decided it wasn't for her. She uses Quidditch at Hogwarts as an outlet for frustration or stress. She wants to be captain as part of her need for power. Almost as much as she wants the team to win.
Nessa doesn't enjoy becoming attached to people. Her father was the first one who, in her new family, started lying to her. That said, men, to Nessa, are untrustworthy and harmful to her. She's already decided that she has no problem with ending up married to her job and perhaps just adopting children when she feels ready.
That doesn't mean that she doesn't like the idea of someone taking care of her sometimes. As strong as she is, she isn't always in control, and knows that. She just refuses to ask for help and has a hard time accepting it. Much like she has problems accepting compliments. She appreciates compliments like she does help, but she gets embarrassed.

CHARACTER HISTORY

Early Years:
Nessa's adoptive parents were purebloods who had a daughter that ended up as a squib. When they found this out, they found a girl who looked rather like that daughter ( this was Nessarose ) and got rid of the squib daughter. Nessa didn't find out about her until she was in Hogwarts. When she was adopted at age seven, Nessa had no idea that the parents had even had a daughter before her.
She doesn't know who her birth parents are, and isn't sure she wants to know what happened to them.
Before she was adopted, Nessa was moved from foster home to foster home, getting more and more frustrated and more and more convinced that she wasn't going to find anyone who wanted her. Most of the time, she avoided getting attached to anyone. This would carry over, more or less, to her Hogwarts years.
After being adopted by the Bridgewoods, she came to learn about the ways of pureblood families and what was expected of her. Taking it all in stride, she was driven to do what her new family wanted and expected of her. She wasn't about to get set away again. If being part of their family meant one day being told who to marry, she would try to accept it.
Her years at home, before leaving for Hogwarts, taught her to get used to dressing up for parties and the like, as well as what she should believe about those who aren't pureblood. Not knowing what she truly was, however, made it more difficult to actually believe what she had been told by her family and their close friends.
Hogwarts Years:
Nessa was sorted into Slytherin, which wasn't really a shocker to her or her family, since the Bridgewoods had always been in that house. Besides Nessa's desire to be the best, and to get some sort of finality and revenge for the original Bridgewood daughter, the sorting hat saw her dark tendencies, and undoubtedly a path she could take.
After having been taught the game of Quidditch by her father and family friends, Nessa decided going out for the house team wouldn't be such a bad idea. She was put on the backup team as a first year, which she understood but was disappointed with.
Nessa found her easiest subject to be Transfiguration in her first year, and her favorite was Potions. This continued to be true through her fourth year. If she had to choose a job through one of the Hogwarts classes, it would have been in potion making or testing.
In her second year, she continued to be a bit of a loner, not sticking around a certain person or group. This was likely due to excessive fear of attachment when she was younger. The effects still seemed to be in her mind.
During Nessa's third year, she was visiting home for the holidays when her parents got into a fight over their first daughter. After that, she was worried about what had happened to the girl whose life she stole. Guilt led her to turn farther towards her dark tendencies. It was then that she started to realize exactly why she was put into Slytherin house.
Throughout her third year, she clung to her Slytherin friends, and started questioning what she had been told for the greater part of her life. Going into her fourth year, she intends to get a further grasp on what she wants to do with her life, let herself make more friends, and explore Hogwarts more fully. She doesn't expect to make Quidditch captain, though it would entertain her to no end. (Ah, pride..)
