Charms Class - Group Five Empty Charms Class - Group Five

Post by Amelia Cooper Wed Sep 04, 2013 2:27 am

Last lesson on a Friday to teach charms was simply Amelia's luck. Most students were either pumped of energy and geared ready for the weekend whilst others would be tired and in need of sleep. Amelia had planned a lesson that would hopefully liven up the sleepy ones and engage the excited, pumped up, eager students. Either way they would be ending their week with a bang!

After bidding farewell to her students from the class before at the sound of the booming bell she raised her wand and tapped it on top her head. Praestigium It was always a funny sensation casting a disillusionment charm upon herself, the feeling of an egg cracked upon her head and the yolk trickling down her as she blended into the background. Of course the enchantment had proven useful in the past, especially hiding herself and her children from the murderous death eaters in her home.

No. She wouldn't think about that. Briefly closing her eyes she cleared her mind from that thought. Occlumency was not a defense mechanism against oncoming legilimens but from her own past, it was a way that she'd dealt with the trauma.

Completely concealed she placed a sign on the door that read 'Please Enter' and hid at the back of the classroom waiting her class. Hopefully the students wouldn't find her peculiar introduction silly but rather fun and lively. Amelia crossed her fingers in hope it'd mirror the students pumped up weekend-feeling moods.

It was the final lesson of the week and the last thing Romeo wanted to do was study. He was too excited about the first quidditch practice at the weekend to concentrate, plus he had enjoyed an extremely unhealthy dessert at lunch time: not one but two chocolate cakes. Romeo wasn't one for eating unhealthy, he had an image to maintain, but because it was Friday he felt a treat had been in order.

Prowling from defence against the dark arts to his final lesson of charms he raised a hand to knock on the door, however the sign reading 'please enter' changed his mind and he simply pushed open the door and entered the classroom. The empty classroom. What was it and Romeo arriving first lately? Even the Professor wasn't here!

Finding a seat in the middle of the classroom he got out his charms book, parchment, ink and quill and leant back in his chair making sure to incline his chin slightly to show off his perfectly carved cheekbones. Hopefully this class wasn't going to be as dull as the previous defence against the dark arts class but he wasn't counting on it - hopefully a beautiful girl would walk in. Yes. That'd make his Friday afternoon feeling soar even more.

Ah it was finally Friday, Shane's favorite day of the week due to it being so close to the weekend. Shane hated this new class schedule, he hated being away from his best friends. But then again, they gotten so many detentions last year, it was unreal. Although they probably still have detentions to make up for last year! But we wasn't worried about it though.

Seeing the sign on the door Shane opened the door slightly and walked into the classroom taking his normal seat in the second row of the classroom. Getting his Charms book out along with his quill and parchment he placed them neatly on his desk before settling down into it. Flipping his hair out of his hazel eyes he settled into his seat before he seen that he wasn't alone, his worse enemy Romeo Zabini was there. Rolling his eyes he settled bacl in his seat facing the calkboard. Shane didn't know why but he didn't like Romeo for various reasons, one he was a player and two he was rude and self centered which Shane wasn't. He was the complete oppsite of Shane.

It was time to go into the first lesson of charms. Tiffany was not really intrested about it yet. First year had gone through quite well but second year, she had no idea what's going happen. She just doesn't know very much about magic still, she only knows that much as she has learned already. She is just from muggle family. Her parents don't like Tif to be witch actually at all but ravenclaw girl actually likes it. Let's see how that will be after couple of years.

She soon walked into the classroom. "Hello, professor," she said with cheerful tone and looked around in the classroom. Second year girl saw here to older boys, she couldn't say in what year they were but she knew they were older for sure. "Hello, fellow classmates," she even then said to them. She smiled and sat down in front, she didn't like to go back at classroom this year. She looked at the teacher and wondered what they are going to learn today. She looked at board and that word what was there, didn't tell her anything at all.

(OOC: I will just start the lesson and if the fourth student wants to post he can be late)

Amelia, still invisible from her charm, continued to watch as more students came into the classroom. The last to come was a little Ravenclaw who could only be in the first or second year - hopefully she would enjoy this lesson. Amelia had been given a list of the age range of students for each class and this group had the largest range. A second year and a seventh year in one class was rather silly, yet Amelia would try and make it work.

Deciding to give any late students two minutes Amelia stood there watching the clock behind her desk. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Nope. Nobody else had arrived, if they did then they would be classes as late.

Raising her wand she pointed it to a bookshelf. Reducto[/] Casting the spell non-verbally Amelia watched as one of the shelves snapped in half by it's own accord, causing the books to topple to the ground.

Now aiming at an empty desk far from the students she thought to herself. [I]expulso
. Unlike her reducto charm the much more powerful blasting charm the desk exploded, sending fragments of wood up into the air (although not harming any of the students due to the distance).

For her final spell Amelia pointed her wand at a cabinet by the door. It was locked and reinforced, being a good place to keep the more advanced books so the younger students didn't come across them and attempt the powerful enchantments the spellbooks held.

Bombarda! The cabinet doors were blasted off as well as the entire wardrobe-like-cupboard bouncing back against the wall and toppling over. The room really did look like a bomb had hit in the matter of seconds.

Amelia watched as a dark student in Slytherin robes screamed and sprang from his seat looking around wearing a frightened expression.

Romeo completely ignored Shane's presence. He was a Gryffindor who Romeo considered a rival of some sort. In the Slytherin's opinion Shane didn't hold the devilishly handsome looks Romeo did. His cheek bones weren't as defined, nor was his jaw line - granted he had muscles but his eyes weren't dark and mysterious. Despite that, somehow, Shane got the girls too.

Romeo looked at the Ravenclaw who had walked in. She was young, much too young for Romeo, he was into older girls. Ignoring her also Romeo gazed up at the clock, what he'd do for that to be an hour faster - He would be free for the weekend.

CRACK! 'Wow.' Romeo gasped, jumping slightly as the bookshelf suddenly fell of its own accord. What had just happened. Gripping the back of his chair he turned around, his eyes narrowing as they came to Shane-

BOOM! Romeo almost fell from his chair as one of the tables across the room exploded into pieces. Now his heart really was racing. What on earth was going on? Was Peeves in here ready to disturb the lesson until Professor Cooper arrived, blame it on the students?

BANG! The door to a wardrobe by the door blasted off of it's hinges before falling in a cloud of dust. 'W-What's going on?' Romeo cried standing from his chair looking around. He couldn't see anyone who could have caused the spells, and, after all the castle was haunted.

'P-Peeves?' Romeo hesistated, his breathing fast as he continued to swirl around looking for the culprit, unaware how much of a scared little boy he was coming across as.

Shane narrowed his eyes back at Romeo giving him a 'what are you looking at you prick?' look before he heard a loud BOOM as a desk not to far from him exploded. "Protego!" said Shane casting a shielding charm around him although he seen that the damage wasn't coming towards him so he lowered his shield. Looking at the look on Romeo's face Shane smirked to himself. He was such a scardy cat that it was unreal, you could tell that he wasn't a Gryffindor.

"Alitte scared are we Zabini?"Shane asked him his eyes looking at him with amusement in them. He was obviously amused of how scared Romeo was that he was flat out laughing. "Wow... your such a idiot, only a Professor or student could do that!"said Shane shaking his head at Romeo. "Seeing how it wasn't me, it had to be Professor Cooper that did it!"said Shane. "Non verbal magic nice!"said Shane smirking.

Shane could do some non verbal spells, but they weren't strong spell but he was working on becoming stronger. It was only a matter of time before he mastered it though. But he was VERY good with Charms and DADA, those were his two strongest subjects.

Shane had spoken to him. How dare he speak to someone like Romeo. Romeo didn't socalise with the likes of rivaled Gryffindors, with possibly the exception of Baldric Wood, their rivalry was somewhat 'unique.' However before Romeo could respond to Shane calling him a coward the wardrobe door had been blasted off and fear had washed over him again.

'Who are you calling stupid?' Romeo snapped back, still scanning around him wearing a frightened look. No students had their wands out apart from Shane who had cast a sheild charm (was he expecting it).

'Um. Well it must have been you then seeing as Professor Cooper isn't even here yet.' He replied before sitting back down with his back towards Shane. How dare he insult him, Romeo Zabini, the attractive Slytherin pure-blood.

Although Amelia had fought back a giggle at Romeo's suspsion of Peeves the poltegiest it appeared one student had figured it out. Non verbal magic and the suspect. About to unviel herself from her disillutionment charm Romeo had snapped back, oh dear, she needed to reveal herself before the pair began bickering like an old couple. Slytherin's and Gryffindor's seemed to be like that, and Amelia had always seemed to be between it considering she'd married a Gryffindor and her daughter had been a Gryffindor.

'Good work, Mr Diamond. Five points to Gryffindor.' Amelia said, tapping her head and removing the disillutionment charm (a few students who were at the back of the class jumped). Aiming her wand at the bookshelve she gave it a way reparo, then at the books wingardium leviosa. With that the shelf repaired itself and the book rose to seat neatly back upon their resting place.

'I am sorry if I gave you a bit of a scare there, Mr Zabini.' Professor Cooper apologised as she walked to the front of the class, repairng the table and wadrobe as she did so before turning to the class as she arrived at her desk.

'That is what we will be doing today. Blasting and repairing charms.' Amelia began to explain. 'Considering that we have a class we such a broad range of ability it only made sense. The young students can begin with reducto whilst the older students-' her eyes rested upon Shane, 'can work on the more destructive spells non verbally, which should be a bit of a challenge hopefully. Now. Who wants to blow things up?' Amelia asked the class universally, hoping that their we-want-the-weekend-to-be-here-already feelings would be attracted to the idea.

"How was it me when I casted the protection spell around me you stupid prick?"Shane asked him obviously annoyed.  "Obviously I'm calling you stupid if you can't figure out that it wasn't Peeves who done all this!"said Shane rolling his eyes. As Professor Cooper appeard he stopped before he gotten into anymore trouble.

Shane looked at Romeo and shook his head. "I told you it was the professor you prick, maybe next time you'll believe me and won't be such a scardy cat!"said Shane smirking. Although the look on his face was priceless, if he had a video camera he would so get it just to show his best friends it.

Shane smiled as he gotten five points for Gryffindor seeing how he figured how that she was there. "Thankyou Professor."said Shane before he took his seat once again.  When he heard what they were doing today Shane smiled. He was finally able test his non vervbal magic he been praticing on all summer!  "I'm looking foward to this listen Professor!"said Shane giving her a soft warm smile.
