A walk with a wolf Empty A walk with a wolf

Post by Avis Summers Mon Jul 30, 2012 5:09 pm

Avis left the old house to take a midnight walk and clear her head. This house was given to her by her parents who saw that she was seeking loneliness rather than company which they had in their house every day. Her mother, Lucy Summers, was a popular witch and all kind of witches and wizards visited her every day. Some for a cup of tea, others to express their support or their respect. Mostly, they talked about politics and discussed business that had to be done. Nothing that interested Avis in any way.
She was tankful that it was her father who choose the house. If it were for her mother, they'd buy her a mansion and decorate it with all kinds of stuff. Even though her father was a muggleborn, he knew a lot about magic. Avis was sure if this man would be granted with a wand, he'd use it better than she did.

As she walked on the road, Avis looked around to get to know the local nature and sights. It was almost midnight and full moon decorated dark blue sky. Millions of shining stars shined upon her, showing her with their fellow, Moon, the way trough the local park and a lake that was kept only for the birds, but not for swimming. Though main population in Godric's Hollow consisted of witches and wizards, Avis still felt weird using her wand around here. Even now, though the moon light was making everything visible for a human eye, Avis would've felt better if she'd use her wand to light the path in the dark. Every time when she heard a single crack in the bush, she turned around but just in time to see a bird fly away, retreating from her. Sighing quietly, she continued to walk across the park, tossing some pebbles that she found on her way into the lake.

The moon was full and Alexis was hunting.

After the failure that happened with that stupid girl the last time, Alexis was mad and she was blood thirsty. She needed a victim, someone to show Naomi that she had her full loyalty like she demanded. Kayla wasn't enough for Alexis, and she needed to do something to make Naomi accept her fully. She walked in the shadows of the trees, her fur being the perfect camouflage to keep anyone from seeing her in the darkness.

As she walked in the darkness, Alexis spotted a girl walking alone. She was alone in the park at night. What was up with people and stupid choices these days. She gave a wolfish grin and followed the girl closely in the trees. Soon, she got tired of waiting and following. Alexis gave a loud howl and jumped out of the trees, in front of the girl.

A walk with a wolf Empty Re: A walk with a wolf

With every step grew her paranoia. She was certain that someone was watching her. Maybe her parents, basically mother, gave someone money to spy on her daughter and see where is she going or what is she up to.
Avis took a deep breath and continued with her walk, trying to think about other things than this odd follower that she might have. Her parents never gave her privacy nor seemed they trust her enough to leave her be. She hugged herself, realizing only now how cold it was outside. She shivered and looked up, at the moon that was surrounded by bright circles and bright stars. When she was younger and Mina still alive, both of the sisters watched the moon and sometimes they even sent her their prayers, wishing for all the best things and hoping for the brighter tomorrow. Mina was strong, stronger than Avis ever would be. She fought braverly against her illness but was defeated. Now, looking again at this giant circle in the sky, she could not hold herself back but to open her mouth and whisper her long lost sister's name. She begged for forgiveness, for that she could not join her in this afterlife.

Suddenly, she heard a howl and before she could even look from where this noise came from, huge wolf had jumped right infront of her. Avis was shocked – she could not even move a limb and running in this situation – that was impossible. She examined the wolf as fast as she could before backing away from it. She had never seen any werewolves before, only read about them and their curse. What was about to happen now was unknown to her. Either was she about to get bitten if the werewolf was only here for that (which she highly doupted) or she was about to die. The last one, however, suited her perfectly. Even though she rushed towards to create the perfection in her life, there was nothing that was actually holding her back to stay alive. Nothing. Not even her parents.
But the instincts were the ones that guided her right now. Instead of standing there and allowing the wolf do the job, she turned around and started running as fast as she could.

Alexis took a step closer to the girl. Her heartbeat was growing faster by the second from the excitement she felt at finding new pray. She licked her lips hungrily and crouched down low, to signal she was going to attack. The girl began to run away and Alexis howled again.

The chase was on.

Alexis started off after the girl and soon enough she was hot on her heels. She was faster on her four legs than the girl was on two. She barked once at her and started to pick up the pace. You're not getting away. she barked words the girl wouldn't understand at her.

Another howl and it was clear that the game had begun. She didn't have to look over her shoulder to see wether the werewolf was following her or not. It was a bad time to remember all the things that they learned at school about the werewolves. Such things had no point right now. She didn't even have any silver or something like that to stop this beast from hunting her down. Her heart was beating really fast and as she gave her best to run as fast as she could, she could hear how the steps came closer and closer with each second that passed.
Tears ran from her eyes, they burned her cheeks that turned red from the cold. Now, in order to survive this attack somehow, she had only once chance to get away from it with her life. She looked around feverishly, trying to find an escape.

Her eyes captured the blurry picture of the lake that was located not too far away from her. She was a great swimmer, but would that do something? She'd drown and wolf would feast on her. But she had to give it a try. Adding more speed, she felt how her limits were coming to an end. Before she could even fill her lungs with some air, she dived into ice cold water. She swam as fast as possible away from the shore and the wolf. At the same time, though it took some effort, she picked out her wand from her pocket. But even if she'd rather stay underwater where she was safe and sound, she had to breathe. With an headache, she reached the surface and raised her wand while trying to normalize her breathing.

The girl had taken retreat in the lake near them but Alexis wasn't giving up. Her eyes had narrowed and she could still smell the girl, even though she was underwater. Her scent was giving away fast though and soon she would have nothing to chase. Alexis' speed picked up more as she ran along the shore surrounding the lake and she searched for the girl.

She soon came up for air and Alexis caught site of her wand. She gave low growl and her fur stood on end now. Her breathing grew heavy and her yellow eyes dulled. Her wand wouldn't help her, a wolf like her could move swiftly through water. Without much thought Alexis lunged into the water and swam quickly toward the girl, making sure she was quiet so the girl wouldn't see her coming.

A walk with a wolf Empty Re: A walk with a wolf

Avis shivered. Not only from the cold but also from the fear when she heard again that deep howl that filled the night. She did not see where that wolf was right now, but she was ready to face that creature. It wanted to kill her – fine! But she won't go down without a fight! No turning back now as she made this her only goal for the night. That is – if she'll survive this night of course.
There was no sight of the wolf in all of a sudden. Everything was peaceful and quiet. Was it really that the werewolf left her alone? Something told her that this is only the beginning. Once a creature sought it's prey, it won't let it go, right? And so was it this time. Avis looked around, trying to get a clue where her enemy might lurk right now. Not too far away, that was certain. And yet, wolf wasn't close, too. She'd see it.
Carefully, she raised her hand even higher:“Lumos!“ she whispered, though she didn't even know why she was trying to be as quiet as possible. Now, with little light with her, she proceeded to look around but only in time to see how this creature swam towards her. „Damn!“ she groaned. Was there no escape? „Alarte Ascendare!" she didn't bother to stay silent now. As she cast the spell, she launched the werewolf into the air and as far as possible from her. Then, she dived again and swam away, to the other side of the shore. Ministry of Magic was probably already alerted – Good. They'd know how to handle this thing. But in the maintime, she had to survive on her own somehow.

The girl has sent a spell her way after her first spell to alert others, and as the second spell hit her, Alexis was sent back a couple feet. She fell back into the water, and for a moment she felt as though she couldn't move. Soon enough, though, her movement came back and she picked up her speed in the water, nearing the girl much faster than she had been the first time. She was done playing games.

Alexis moved to the side, now that she saw the girl was heading for the shore, she used that to her advantage. The werewolf swam to the side, approaching the land there, and asfter quickly shaking the water off of her body, Alexis ran along side the girl on the shore, as she reached the end of the lake. When she was there, Alexis would be ready and she wouldn't get away. She didn't even care that there was a chance she would be caught.

The girl was nearing the shore quickly. Good. She took this as an opportunity and she ran a bit faster. Then she suddenly lunged back into the water and she jumped onto the girl. Her right paw came down on her arm, and she tore through the flesh on the girl's arm. The water had begun to turn red with the blood seeping from her wound and she gave a wolfish grin.

A walk with a wolf Empty Re: A walk with a wolf

Post by Avis Summers Fri Aug 03, 2012 6:52 pm

Avis wished she reached the shore faster. But with shaking hands and legs and weak knees it was almost impossible to swim. And the fact that she was holding a wand in her hand wasn't a great advantage to her. She started losing hope as there was no one appearing. Did Ministry not get the pure invitation to come and get an underaged wizard? Were they all sleeping their lazy asses off or what? She was almost out of the water when werewolf suddenly striked from behind. Avis fell down on her stomach. Screaming in terror and surprise at the same time, she didn't realize that the werewolf also cut her hand until she saw the water turn red. With the shock that almost momentary came and froze her body she was unable to move or do anything but just take deep breaths and squeeze the wand in her hand.

Hot tears burned her cold and pale cheeks that lost suddenly all the color. Her lips started turning blue and everything turned slowly into a blur. At times I've welcomed death, was the first and calming thought that came across her mind. She closed her eyes; her grasp weakened and she almost let go of her wand. Sorry mother and father, forgive me sister... This death, no matter how painful it might be – she'll slow it and wait for someone from the ministry to arrive. And after that she may die in peace.

Clunging on the strenght that she had left in her, she turned herself around, pulling werewolf at least few inches off of her. Then, as fast as she could, she raised her wand and repeated the same spell that she used before. She tossed werewolf completely away from her and with the help of magics, she stood up but her weak knees gave up on her and she fell on them. Bloodloss made her even weaker than she already was. Avis wasn't even able to remember any healing spells that would definately help her in this situation. Now, going down with battle sounded a bad plan. She had no strenght to continue the fight. So, without hesitation, she threw her wand away and smiled at the werewolf:“Come now, show me what your kind are good at!“ she shouted at the beast and let out short, hysterical laugh.
