A Meeting of Minds

Jimmy strolled in through the doors of his favorite place, other than the library of course, wearing his usual clothes ((see the sig for details)). Taking a moment to order a Butter beer, Jimmy settled himself in a quiet corner and pulled out a book. He scanned the room carefully "Hmm, bit quiet tonight...perfect.". It had been a strange couple of weeks for Jimmy. It suddenly felt as though he had been awoken from a six year sleep. He found himself going to places he normally wouldn't, doing things he usually wouldn't have the guts to do.

Sighing happily to himself, Jimmy got stuck into his book, completely oblivious to those around him.

Kai sat silent in the corner of the room, watching the people around him carefully. With his legs placed on the table in front of him, his shoes were at first blocking his view of the young man who had just entered the bar; once Jimmy had entered Kai's line of vision he let out a quiet sigh. Kai had been hoping for someone else to walk through the old wooden doors, but all thoughts of that person had left his mind as he continued to watch Jimmy make his way to a seat. As Jimmy opened his book to begin reading, Kai quickly lost interest and returned his attention to the door, tapping his heel on the table as he waited.

Jimmy's little world was invaded by the distinct noise of foot on wood. Looking up from his book, Jimmy saw where it was coming from. Shaking it off, assuming the young man would meet whoever he was meeting and leave soon, Jimmy tried to get back into his book.

Sadly, he could not. Looking up again, visibly frustrated, Jimmy cleared his throat and spoke in the direction of the fellow student. "Waiting for someone important, eh?" he said coldly.

Kai looked over at Jimmy and gave a quick nod in reply to Jimmy's question. Swiftly, Kai slid his feet off of the table and hopped to his feet and began to walk in Jimmy's direction. A tall figure dressed head to toe in black, with the exception of his white shirt, people usually avoided Kai, not even wanting to talk to him. As he got closer and closer to Jimmy, Kai stared at Jimmy's face, looking for features that he may recognize, but no - this was the first time he had met this particular young man. Kai approached Jimmy and crouched down beside him. "And what about you, bookworm?", Kai whispered as he looked down at Jimmy's book before turning his attention back to Jimmy, "This isn't the library, why are you here?".

Jimmy was taken aback slightly by Kai approaching him. Sliding more into the corner, he watched him carefully, slightly worried that a wand might be pulled on him. Kai's clothing didn't bother Jimmy, mostly because he had a tendency to wear similar things.

As Kai crouched down, Jimmy stiffened, not prepared to give any more ground to this strange young man. Kai's comments however, sparked fury within Jimmy. He had grown used to childish name calling but, seeing as how things have changed a lot already recently, Jimmy decided enough was enough.

"Can't a guy read in here?" Jimmy said irritably, visibly angered. "I thought this was a free country but obviously, I was mistaken!" he added, his voice dripping with sarcasm as he tightened his grip on his book.

Kai grunted upon hearing Jimmy's retort and stood up, now looking down at Jimmy. Leaning over slightly towards Jimmy, Kai placed his hand firmly on Jimmy's shoulder and smirked at his fingers curled inwards, creating a tight grip.

"It's not free, not at all. You should know that.", Kai whispered as he examined Jimmy's clothes, "How did someone like you get these clothes? Are you a thief?". Thinking about the book being held in Jimmy's hands, Kai began to think. "Is that why you're not in the library? Did you steal this book from them?", Kai said gently, releasing his grip on Jimmy's shoulder. "Pathetic.".

Jimmy stiffened even further as he felt Kai's hand on his shoulder. "Careful where you put your hands" he said icily "You might lose them." "Just keep calm, do not rise to this creep's baiting" Jimmy's brain told him. Jimmy concentrated on his book, letting Kai know that he thought very little of him.

That was until Kai called him a thief. Rising from his seat, Jimmy looked Kai straight in the eye, not caring that they were attracting attention. "I work hard for my things I'll have you know. I take it from your snobbish attitude that you are a Slytherin?" Jimmy retorted, his question rhetorical. Recollecting himself, Jimmy brushed past Kai and headed towards the bathroom, his book still on the table.

Kai's face showed a look of utter disgust as Jimmy brushed past him. Watching Jimmy carefully as he made his way to the bathroom, Kai crossed his arms and leaned back slightly, standing proudly as though he were the victor. Chuckling to himself, Kai looked down at where Jimmy had been sat a moment ago. He noticed that Jimmy had left the book behind and leant over to pick it up.

"I suppose a thief wouldn't leave his prize behind, would he?", Kai thought to himself as he opened the book. Flicking through the pages, Kai didn't both paying attention to any of the words -- reading had never been his strong point. Violently, Kai began to tear pages out of the book, scattering them over Jimmy's seat. He continued to do this until a good amount of pages had been torn out. At this point, Kai threw the book back on the table, making quite a racket. Kai turned around and made his way to the exit. "There.", he said and wandered out of the bar and into the cold, smirking.

Jimmy had managed to calm himself down whilst he was in the bathroom. Striding out, he felt better, thinking that the creep had most likely left and he could continue reading in peace.

As he saw the book, desecrated and torn on the table, Jimmy turned apoplectic with rage. "That...no good...pompous...aaaarrrrgh!!!" yelled Jimmy, brandishing his wand and hurrying out of the bar to find that coward.
