Care of Magical Creatures: N.E.W.T Class 001.

The hippogriff seemed to be getting aggitated at the fact that the person whom it had just deemed unworthy was not moving away from it. It began to shift its weight again and Jake found himself grabbing its reigns tightly once more. "Cecilia, just move away from it." he said calmly, trying not to agitate the creature anymore than it already was. When she mentioned how she would tell the Headmaster and her father that they have hired a stalker, he looked at her in confusion.

"What are you talking about?" he asked. He watched as she ran away and stared after her for a moment. "A stalker...?" he shook his head and turned to the class. "I'm sorry about that. We... we should continue with the class." he told them. A few other students came up to the hippogriff and bowed to it, one by one. Soon the rest of the class did the same, with the exception of a couple of students who did not want to risk being deemed unworthy of the creature.

More than half the class was accepted by the hippogriff and Jake nodded as each of them were accepted. When they were finished, Jake stood in front of the class and smiled at them. "Well, now then. Those of you who were accepted by the hippogriff, which one of you would like to go on a ride with it first?" he asked.

Kiara knew alot about hippogriffs to know that they don't handle being insulted very well they were very proud creature. Kiara waited her turn to see if she was worthy enough for the Hippogiff to bow back at her. She knew that the Kiara knew hippogriff was the first one to make the first move. As she stepped forward she bowed at the hippogriff without breaking eye contact and waited patiently to see it would react. As it bowed back at her Kiara smiled. She was worthy enough to the hippogriff which made her happy for she was always fasinated by them.

"I'll go first Professor."said Kiara softly as she stepped forward as she took off her Gryffindor robe and set it on her bookbag. Kiara always wanted to ride a hippogriff after she read so much about them, but then again she was muggleborn so she didn't know much about magical creatures. Kiara was afraid of flying but she knew that hippogriffs knew how to fly very well. Kiara had a feeling she was going to be on og Professor Collins best students for she loved Care of Magical creatures it was her best subject besides Charms. "Do I need to bow to it again Professor?"Kiara asked him softly.

The class seemed to have gone dead silent when he asked who wanted to ride it first. It seemed they were all scared to ride the creature. "Come on now, he won't hurt you." He smiled at the class. As one student stepped up, Jake smiled at her. "Very well Kiara." he said. "And ten points to Gryffindor for being the bravest among your classmates, as to be expected of a Gryffindor." the young Professor said. The hippogriff gave a small nod and shifted again, letting Jake know that the hippogriff wasn't going to give Kiara any trouble while she was on it.

He turned back to the girl and shook his head. "No, that isn't nessesary. You have already proven yourself to the hippogriff." he told her. "Would you like any help getting onto the creature?" he asked her. But the hippogrif beat him to it as it kneeled down in front of Kiara, waiting for her to get on it. "Oh well, never mind then." he gave a short laugh, looking down at the hippogriff who had its eyes trained on the girl. "Okay well, just remember Kiara. Hippogriffs are fast when they're in the air, so make sure you hold on tight and don't let go at all." Professor Collins reminded her quickly. "Now whenever you're ready, just let it know."

After being able to complete what he wanted for the lesson, Jake smiled at the students in front of him. "Well, good work. All of you." he said. Looking down at his watch he noticed that it was time for the students to leave. He sighed softly and looked at everyone of them. "Looks like our time together for today is up. So, class dismissed." he said. He watched as every one of them turned and began to file out of the paddock. Not bad for it being his First time teaching, not bad at all. And it had been quite a large class, larger than his basic class, he was surprised it went as well as it did.

But remembering the incident during the class, he stared after the students. "Ms. Krum." the Professor said in a clear voice. "Please stay behind for a moment." he requested. As a student she had to obey the requests of her professors, no matter how much she didn't want to. Besides he wasn't going to do anything bad, he just needed to know something.

He knew she hadn’t left. Rolling her eyes she stopped walking away and turned around. As her fellow classmates walked past her she crossed her arms over her chest and glared in the direction of the professor. Once they had passed her she was the only one left. ”What do you want?” she said coldly. First he followed her throughout Hogsmeed and now Hogwarts. What would be next?
