Dinner for hungry Order Members

Jess gave Jack a bit of a sly grin, along with a wink and nod, before he stood up, walking to the door and holding it open from her. He'd noticed the change in her actions and demeanour, when he'd said to keep the flame alive. He wouldn't tell her to run risks with such dangerous, unpredictable people, but at the same time he made sure he knew that he didn't mind if she did. She'd read into it, and it was exactly what he would've done if her were her.

He was shocked, he had to admit, that she knew that spell. He'd never really known of anyone else who did know it, it was certainly not in any textbooks, he would have to ask Jack how she knew it sometime, but that wasn't important right now. ((Forgive the mild godmode here))

Closing the door behind him he made sure to lock it, before walking back downstairs, walking first to allow Jack to linger, if she so wished, he wasn't sure if he could hear her or not, and he didn't really mind if she was coming with him or not.

Reaching the door to the drawing room he opened it and stuck his head through the door. "Hello everyone," he said half his body hanging in the door way, "Dinner should be ready by now, if it's not already than I think that we should make ourselves ready for it," he told them, gesturing for them to all head downstairs to the kitchen, berty was probably laying the tables about now.

Jess smiled as everyone headed downstairs, he couldn't help but feel a little closer to everyone in the Order, especially when they weren't discussing their next battle, or some sort of plan. Really, everyone just felt like family, and that's what tonight was like, sitting down to dinner with all the crazy members of your family.

Kingsley, the crazy uncle you never saw, Michael, the crazy one you did, Jack and Jacob, the cousins who pop by occasionally, Khaat the hustle bustle mother figure, and everyone else who just seemed to fit into place. Of course there was also Berty, who had his own little high chair to the table, he was always allowed to join them for dinner, particularly when he made it.

Entering the kitchen the mouthwatering smell of a cooked dinner met his nose, and he suddenly couldn't help but want to tuck in, however he knew he had to wait while everyone joined them.

"Please, sit where you like," he said, abandoning his usual seat at the head of the table to sit in the middle of it, wondering who'd want to sit next to him tonight. "Thank you Khaat, I think it'll be nice," he added, turning to face her and smiling. "We'll just wait for the slowpokes to get downstairs though," he said with a wink, turning around and yelling at the open door to the stairway. "Come on slowpokes," he shouted. "We haven't got all day you know," he added, grinning wickedly.

Jacob had given his order to the Elf with the others and walked over to the bookcase and found a interesting book titled "How to Stew Slug Stew by Sally Sanders." The title however was nothing even remotely close to the contents but were enough to get him to the point where Jess opened the door and told them dinner was ready. He lingered a moment longer on his book before placing it away and heading for the kitchen.

Entering a few seconds after Jess shouted to hurry up he found a spot across the table from him and sat down letting the smell of the cooked food envelope him. It had been a while since he smelled food so sublime then again the food he usually ate was from the little diners in London.

"The food smells amazing your elf is very talented Jess, how did you come across such excellent service" he said politely while he gazed lovingly at the chicken tofu with almonds and green beans that was in front of him He decided to wait for the others to arrive before he started eating.

Sophia was beyond late for the Order meeting and she felt horrible about seeing how she was working double at St Mungo's last night and she over slept. "I'm So sorry I'm late Jess, I must of been REALLY tired after working a double last night!"said Sophia softly. As she took her seat she smiled warmly at the Lupins, Michael and everyone else. "Wow... Jess everything smells so good I can't wait to eat."said Sophia softly smiling at Jess. Sophia hoped she wasn't to late that she missed everything but she didn't think she was but she could be very wrong indeed.

"Sorry I am late guys," said Andrian, gasping for breath as he quickly walked into the room where everyone was. Andrian felt horrible for being late for and Order meeting. He felt horrible for keeping everyone waiting for him, he didn't mean to be so late. Andrian stayed up all night as well working at St. Mungo's  helping Sophia do some of her work. There was a lot more patient coming in the other night. So they had to stay back at night and go home late that night. "Never believe you'll wake up at whatever time for anything, you'll just sleep more," he told everyone and chuckled as he took he seat next to Sophia. "Hey, love," he smiled and kissed her cheek. "What smells so good in here?" he sniffed the air looking at everyone. Andrian wore a blue plaid shirt, a pair of jeans and boots. He had a beard on his face because he didn't have time to shave.

Jess looked behind him as Jacob entered and smiled, "About time," he said with a wink and chuckle. "Anyone else upstairs?" He asked quickly, his mouth watering like crazy, he was eager to get started as soon as possible. "And Berty actually came with the house," he told Jacob, reaching over to Berty's chair and pulling him forward, as was customary. "We sort of have an agreement," he continued, "Though Berty wouldn't ever admit it, I like to look after him a bit," he told them all, looking around the table, and pointing at Berty, who was fast turning red. "See, he'll cook dinner and set out all the settings, all that stuff, other than his own. Then I'll set his, he doesn't like it, but I think it's only fair. I honestly don't know how I'd get along with Berty," he added with a chuckle.

"And Hello again Soph, not a problem, dinner is about to begin if you'll just take a seat," he said, pointing at one of the ones which were free. "Don't worry about taking your time to come back downstairs, I can understand taking your time, that library is easy to be lost in," he told her with a smile, he himself had been lost in there before, reading through the many books, and talking to the portraits

"Oh," he said, as another person walked in, "Hello Andrian, i didn't expect you to come tonight, no problem about being late. You've missed the meeting, but we're just having a dinner right now," he told him, gesturing for him to take a seat. "We'll begin in just a moment, everyone just needs to sit down first," he told him, pointing at the platters in the centre of the table. "Yes," he said, "As soon as we're all seated we can just tuck in, I think," he said with a smile.

Nikki arrived at the Order meeting but could see she was late. She was even later than Sophia and Andrian! She entered the roomful of people and looked for a vacant seat. "Apologies, Jess.." Nikki gushed. She sat down next to Sophia and looked at her and smiled. "I didn't mean to be late." Nikki said, still talking to Jess. She wondered if she missed anything important or worthy of knowing. She hoped not. She could smell the delicious food and grinned. Everything smelt delicious and she couldn't wait to dig in as she was quite hungry. "Everything smells great." Nikki complimented. She looked at all the food and nearly started to drool, but luckily she didn't.

Jess smiled and waved off Nikki's apology as she gave it, "Not a problem, everyone, for those of you who don't know who this is... introduce yourselves over dinner, I don't think I can hold back any longer," he said with a laugh. "So, without further ado I suppose we should get this all underway," he said, standing up and beginning to walk around the table.

"So, we're all here for a common cause, and while I don't want to dim the mood this evening, I do have a few short words to say," he told them all. "We're all here for the same reason really, to fight for what we see as being good. That fight can take us to places we don't want to be, any of us could not turn up next meeting, anything could happen. I just want you all to know that I trust each and every one of you completely," he told them all, "I see you as family, you're all my family, and I will fight to protect not what I see as being right, but rather the people sitting before me here. I love you all," he said, a look of mock seriousness on his face for a second before he burst out laughing. "Anyway," he said, walking back to his chair and sitting down, "That's all I wanted to say, I hope that you enjoy you meal, and without further ado, tuck in!" He said, picking up his own knife and fork and cutting into the slab or honeyed pork sitting in front of him. "So tell me Nikki, why were you late?" He asked, beginning to make some small talk.

Nikki was excited to hear how Jess was going to introduce her but then just said to introduce themselves over dinner as he was hungry. Nikki sighed sadly but shrugged it off. The main thing was that her being late wasn't a problem.

She listened to Jess' small speech and understood it and what she was into. She chuckled slightly when he burst into laughter. She also picked up her knife and fork when he said to tuck in. She was going to start with the honey pork. It looked absolutely delicious. She began to cut into it. Nikki heard Jess' question and looked at him, whilst cutting her food. "Oh, um, the babysitter was late...And I couldn't leave Jake alone...I hope it doesn't happen again as lately I've been a bit late to important appointments," Nikki explained and by the end of her explaination she'd cut her first piece of pork and placed it in her mouth and began to chew. Gosh, she thought, the food was delectable! Absolutely juicy and easy to chew as well.
