Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. The last place they'll look Empty The last place they'll look

Post by Felix Barker Sat Dec 11, 2010 10:21 pm

Felix apparated into the main entrance of the warehouse he had once been in so long ago. Him and Naomi were ragged, Felix had a beard coming in, and Naomi's hair had grown out quite a bit. Their clothes were torn, faded, and basically lived in. Felix looked at Naomi and smiled slightly. "I told you before... they won't EVER think of looking for us here, it's been so long since we've been here, it's probably just boarded up on the outside, and no one will buy it because of what happened in it... I told you there wouldn't be any triggers." He said with a smile. Taking her hand.

Felix hurt everywhere, his body was bruised and mangled. He even had a sprained ankle he was walking on. "Come on.. lets get cleaned up." He said lightly, his wand held high as he led Naomi down the corridors into the very depths of the warehouse. They made their way to their old hideout, and Felix stepped into the corridor, and a huge smile crossed his face. "Home sweet home." He said lightly, and pulled Naomi into the housing area. It had been empty for so long, that the food had gone bad inside it. Felix simply waved his wand and anything that had gone bad vanished. Then the room started to smell sweeter. "You first Naomi, go take a shower." He said lightly as he nudged her to the bathroom, smiling at her back as he spun around to quickly shave and cut his hair by the kitchen sink.

He heard their voices, he could hear their footsteps, he could smell their ransid breath. Naomi and Felix had returned, he knew the would. They were pretty dumb criminals that was for sure. It had taken him merely seconds after they left to realize they would soon return. So everyday he had gone back to the warehouse for an hour to see if they had returned. It was odd, cause he was just about ready to leave when he heard the crack of apparation that carried to where he was. They had turned the bathroom light on, and only one light outisde the bathroom remained. It was a small flickering one above the sink in the Kitchen. He followed Felix silently into the room and made sure he remained hidden in the dark. He blinked, his eyes had adjusted slightly to the dark now. He could see the faint outline of the lightswitch by the door.

He stood next to the lightswitch, he would wait for Naomi to enter the washroom. He'd soundproof the door with a charm and attacked Felix. Oh it was all already planned, Hershel was prepared and ready.

There was some sort of flicker deep in the body of the young woman who had lost almost everything when she looked up at the familiar warehouse. She was not used to this weird feeling. She had managed to persevere because she had Felix, and their love had been a bit of a comfort. But constant attack, hunger, injury, and other obstacles were hard to ignore. But this new feeling... So faint, but so inspired by the sight of their old hideout.

Hope.

She interlocked her fingers with Felix and they stumbled into the warehouse. She looked like a forgotten rag doll. Her clothes were ripped and dirty, her hair was much too long for her liking and was ratted and mused, and her figure was thin. There were dark circles under her eyes and she had a haunted look about her face. She had seen things none of the other pampered kids she used to be friendly with would even understand.

Felix told her she could take a shower and she nodded numbly. She moved through the rooms and tracked down some of the clothes she had left their. She slipped into the bathroom and took a shower. When she got out she pulled on the clothes. Despite the fact that they were supposed to be tight, the blue skinny jeans were now sort of baggy and the she did not quite fill out the shirt. She took out her wand and severed off the ends of her hair, which had gotten too long, before drying it.

She made her way back into the kitchen and collapsed at the kitchen table heaving a sigh. They had stayed in forests and trains, been tailed by Aurors, muggles, and werewolves. They had suffered injuries, hunger, and dehydration. Now, they could relax. And she was not really sure how to do that anymore.

Damn, Naomi was too quick he hadn't had time to act. But now was the perfect time to act as well. While feelix was busy by the sink he quickly sneaked over to Naomi. He silenced her with a charm and immobilized her with another. He dragged her into the corner, in the shadows. He could just faintly see her, it was really dark. Now was the time to act, he looked at Felix by the sink. He straightened his hat and pointed his wand at Felix. He muttered "Stupefy," under his breath so as not to allow Felix to hear him.

He then moved towards the lights again. The spell had been sent from where Naomi was and he would attack her instead of him if he retorted. He wouldn't turn the lights on just yet, he needed to use the lights to his advantage though. He was now sitting at the table where Naomi had been, yet he was hidden in the darkness so he couldn't see his face.

Felix got himself cleaned up and nice, and just as he moved out of the way, a Stupify flew past him. He flung himself around, and saw the table, mostly in shadow, completely hidden to him. "Naomi?" He asked lightly, his mind racing. Naomi had entered, he had heard her, only now she wasn't there... not where he had heard her sit down.. something was wrong, and he suddenly realized he had to get out of here, fast, but not without Naomi. But he couldn't see anything in the room, the light above the sink kept flickering oddly, casting shadows on the walls, and making the room pitch black at points.

"Naomi.. where are you?" He asked grabbing his wand from beside the sink. Suddenly he noticed that someone WAS sitting at the table, but he couldn't see his face. "Who are you?" He growled, pointing his wand at the man. He should have just stupified him, or killed him, or something, but something about this man intrigued him. Not many people could sneak into a house and Naomi not notice them. She did have the reflexes of a werewolf anyway, and she hadn't heard a thing, in fact it seemed this person had gotten her too, that was something to be proud of. Felix narrowed his eyes, and looked at the dark shape of the man for a long moment, waiting for him to speak or move.

Hershel didn't move, he could see Felix but Felix couldn't see him. Well at least his face was hidden to Felix. He didn't make a sound he just sat and stared at Felix. His wand was on the table and he was completely open for a curse. He knew Felix to be a natural curious person. This type of criminal was hard to catch but of course Layton loved a challenge. His motionless face suddenly sprung into a grin. Was Felix actually scared? The look on his face said so and it also should signs of respect. It was a very confusing face however. "You know who I am Felix. You've already written it in that book of yours. Or at least I thought you did, it is a very well known name after all."

He stood up now and moved forward, it was a dramatic moment. Layton's face was not the cheery face everyone knew but a face that was serious. "You're done Felix, it's over for you." he told him angrily. His wand was in his hand and it was pointed at Felix. Felix's was also pointed at him, neither of them budged. "It's Layton, Hershel Layton..." he told him. "Expelliarmus." he said trying to disarm Felix.

Felix stared at Layton with a scowl. He was right, this man WOULD be the downfall of him. Naomi was behind him, he had no way to get to her, and suddenly a spell was flying at him. It hit him in the chest, and his wand flew out of his hand, clattering onto the table in front of Layton. Disarmed, Felix did the only thing he knew how to do. Get it back.. so he flung himself at the man at the table, attempting to wrestle the wand away from the man who had cast the spell at him. "Layton, I'll kill you." He growled, pulling on the wand, throwing a punch at his jaw, in an attempt to confuse him.

Felix gave a feral snarl, and found himself falling backwards, be it from getting hit by Layton, or just his own balance, he fell backwards and skidded onto the floor, hitting the counter under the sink. He hit his head hard and became dazed, and found himself looking up, and realizing that Layton was right, and his suspicions about the man were correct to. He would be his downfall, and this is how it would end, in his own kitchen, Naomi out cold behind the man, and Felix completely disoriented. Felix suddenly whistled, one last act before he would be either killed or immobilized. One last act to call Hyde to him, and make him take Naomi away.

Layton was caught aback at Felix's sudden act. He was on the table and he felt his jaw crack as Felix hit him. He wouldn't be doing any talking anyway so he saw that as a minor injury. He punched Felix in the chest and he went sprawling back into the sink. He straightened up, slightly dazed and confused. But he soon returned to normal, however Naomi was gone when he went to turn on the lights. That was going to be troublesome. He looked at Felix laying there, he had either given up hope or was paralyzed. He had whistled so he was fine. He straightened his hat and walked over to Felix, giving him a dirty look.

"Immobulous," he said, he felt the pain in his jaw as he said this. He would be drinking his food from a straw for a week before it was ready to be healed magically. He saw Felix's body stiffen, this was so much more gauranteed than Petrificus Totalis. He assumed Robert would be at St. Mungos so he apparated them both there.

Naomi was getting close to stirring but still in the thick of unconsciousness. Meanwhile, in the living area of the warehouse, a massive dog burst through the door and spun around, looking for his master and only found the collapsed figure of a small girl he had learned was a priority of his master. He felt his loyalty flare up and he bounded over to her, nosing her face before letting out a booming bark.

Naomi jerked straight up and found herself looking up at Hyde's face. She shivered and sat up, grabbing a fistful of Hyde's fur to steady herself. She saw the signs of a struggle but did not see Felix. "Felix?" she called. She pushed herself up, calling in a slightly panicked voice, "Felix?!" She realized, though, he had always answered her. He was obviously not here.

She closed her eyes and felt her heartbeat quicken, her breath become more shallow. She was alone. Felix had been captured. Now, it was her turn. It was her turn to go after Felix, her turn to save him, her turn to step up and do the unspeakable. She looked at Hyde and saw familiar canine eyes... She drew up her resolve. She swooned slightly, still feeling the effects of the spell. She grabbed onto Hyde and said, "Let's get out of here. It's going to be you and me for awhile."
