Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Adam was quietly reading a book in his room when he heard a knock on the door. The door was open so he knew who was knocking right away. It was a student he had seen around Beauxbatons a few times, male. He told him the Headmistress wanted to see him. Finally! He had been waiting for her to finally acknowledge his questions. He needed some help and after all; Madame Benoit was like his mother away from home. He dropped his book and was out of his room as soon as the boy left. He didn't want to seem too anxious like he was excited for something. But he was, he was finally getting some answers.

He knew where Madame Benoits room was and was quickly rapping on her door. He waited for her to answer, what if she wasn't around? But wait, hand't a boy just told him she was looking for him. Maybe she was outside...he wouldn't risk it. Chances are she was inside just busy with something. He looked outside one of the carriage tinted windows. Tinted as in magical, magical as in there were many however it looked like there were few.

Madame Benoit had gotten a bit of late start to her day today. She had been up much too late the night before redoing the lesson plans for the students while they were here. She had taken charge of their classes, but had allowed, when they chose, to select Hogwarts classes instead. In fact, she had encouraged it. She wanted them to be able to make friends. That was the most important lesson she could teach them--how to love and be loved.

Her assistant had brought her some strong coffee, not her normal choice, but she felt it necessary. Madame Benoit opened the window in her office just a wee bit to allow the freshness of the crisp fall air enter her office, but not enough to make the space cold.

"Madame," her assistant told her, "I did find your hair ribbon. My apologies. Somehow it ended up getting packed in my own things." Her assistant handed her a chocolate brown silk ribbon that perfectly matched the delicate brown silk day dress she wore that floated down mid calf and stopped just inches from her chocolate brown silk heels.

"Merci," she smiled, just as she heard a knock on her door. "Oh! That will be Adam. Please, bring tea for him and then leave us."

"At once," her assistant smiled and left. Madame Benoit put her flicked her wand at her hair and the ribbon caught it up in a long ponytail and then the ribbon made a beautiful bow. "Come in, Adam," she said, as she felt the ribbon beginning to tie the bow itself. He might end up seeing the ribbon fashiong the bow, but, oh well, perhaps, it was not all that improper for him to see an extra spell or two.

She liked Adam a great deal. Well, she liked all her students a great deal, but there was something about this special handful of students that stood out for her. These were truly the best that Beauxbatons had to offer, and she felt some closeness to Adam that she didn't often get to have. Many of the students chose to be much more aloof and removed from her. Adam was warm and fun and lively, and she always found him to be giving. Those were key qualities of someone who, she believed, would end up being very successful in life as an adult.

Adam entered and didn't waste time taking a seat in front of her desk. He was sitting in one of the chairs before you could say "take a seat". He was troubled, and finally he was getting something done about it. He didn't know what was going on and how he could handle it. He smiled at his headmistress, it was a large friendly smile he gave to everyone. "Zank you for seeing me Madame Benoit." he told her in a very grateful tone. In fact, this so far, may be the highlight of the trip to Hogwarts so far. He was hoping the highlight would be something more exciting. But the previous highlight was crashing his broom the previous night. "And again, I apologize for you 'aving to...heal me last night and zis morning. I've been quite a clutz lately..." he said quietly and blushing.

She hadn't said anything on both occasions. So he was assuming she was going to blow up on him now. It had been weird having to sit or lay there while your Headmistress fixed your broken bones or gashes in your head. In fact, he had kind of been hoping she would at least tell him off when he was sitting there. But even this morning when she had been sitting at the head table...she didn't look at him. But he was too busy dealing with Jack and Peter to actually look at her. There was a connection between himself and the headmistress. It was a family connection somehow...but oh well. He'd think about it some other time.

She smiled. He seemed no worse for wear this morning after the difficult night he had had. She had worried for him during the night, and she hoped he had not known that she had slipped from her elegant quarters in the carriage, in her rose colored silk dressing gown and slippers and had not even tied up her long dark hair, but left it hang long and full, and had gone to his room and had checked on him as he slept to be sure he was alright. She wanted him to rest well. Few of her own staff knew she did such things in the middle of the night when one of her students were sick or wounded. She always checked on them. Sometimes stayed with them if it were necessary. She wasn't proud of perhaps one of her students perhaps seeing her in her dressing gown.

"It is no trouble at all, mon petit guerrier. We all must go through such things as we struggle to grow up. It is a battle all its own, oui?"" Her assistant brought the tea she had requested and set the silver tray on her desk and left again silently. "Merci," She said to her assistant as he left. "Tea, Adam? I found a shop here that sells a wonderful Pumpkin Spiced tea. The lady that works there says her father is a potionsmaster and makes her teas as his hobby. I found it to be quite good, and I think it reminds me of Halloween. Have a cup if you like.

"So tell me. What shall we talk about this morning? Classes? Brooms?..." she looked at him before her next suggestion. "Women, perhaps? Tell me what is on your mind. You have always been able to tell me anything."
