Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Potions Class Rules Empty Potions Class Rules

Hey students,
here're some of the base rules for classes at PA.
  1. The 75 word limit still remains, any less and your teacher will report you

  2. Make sure you do what your teacher says, treat them as though they're actually your teacher, not as though they're someone playing a teacher

  3. The whole point of classes is for you to learn something. If you walk into a class knowing everything the teacher teaches, it ruins the point of going, so take a few tries to succeed, make mistakes, act like an actual student, no one, not even Hermione, was perfect.

  4. Try to attend every class, if you miss one or two that's fine, but if you miss too many we may have to discuss whether you remain a student or not.

  5. Do the homework your teachers set you on time, your teacher will be the one to decide on your punishment if you don't

  6. As with every year the House cup competition has started again, so do your best in every class, and you may receive points, further progressing your house to glory. Fail to meet the requirements, and points may be deducted.

  7. Finally, have fun!

Potions Class Rules
In character rules - break at your own peril!
(AKA: Break by all means! Very Happy)

If a student has deigned to take Potions as a N.E.W.T subject
he or she has therefore agreed to adhere to the following rules;
first years up to fifth years have no choice in the matter:
There will be no:

  • Spitting at/on students, equipment, ingredients or the Professor.
  • Hitting of students unless absolutely necessary.
  • Bickering amongst yourselves lest you wish to spend an evening or two with the Professor.
  • Running around the lab. The Professor will not escort his students to the Hospital Wing if their ailments are the product of their own stupidity.
  • Arguing with the Professor. Students must understand that they are in fact students and are there to learn - therefore their comments are not appreciated. Students are reminded of the fact that they are wrong and that if they wish to continue arguing with the Professor then they are welcome to spend their evenings with him indefinitely.
  • Use magic within the classroom unless directed by the Professor. Any duelling will result in four months worth of detention.

    Additional Notes:

  • O.W.L students entering their first N.E.W.T year may enter onto the Potions course provided they have an "Acceptable" as their Potions O.W.L grade. Those who did not sign up to the course because they believed "Exceeds Expectations" was the entry requirement are welcome to speak to the Professor within the first two weeks of the school year to get onto the course. If a student wishes to join the course and has not applied by Sunday, September 14th 2025 then he or she is encouraged to enjoy their year in Care of Magical Creatures or another stuffy, useless subject.

  • Students will not be permitted entry to the classroom unless they have all their equipment with them and their uniform is immaculate.
  • Class shall be conducted in silence when brewing. Only make noise if you are in imminent danger. Otherwise, remain quiet.
  • If a student is in need of help, please raise his or her hand and the Professor will assist you.
  • No student is permitted to leave the classroom until it is tidy.

- Professor Alistair Bartimus D'Eath, Potions Master.
