Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Class Six - Basic Level Empty Class Six - Basic Level

Post by William Winston McCoy Sun Mar 14, 2010 8:33 pm

Another day, another class. Professor McCoy had replaced professor Emof, who had work in the Ministry, not a long time ago. He liked teaching, especially Transfiguration. He had done some teaching jobs before, but Transfiguration was always his favorite. He wrote his name on the blackboard and sat on his desk, waiting for the students to arrive. He also waved his hand and wrote the title of today's lesson - EXAM DAY.

Abbey walked into the classroom and glanced at the blackboard before taking her seat. She gulped, slightly nervous about the exam; but why should she be nervous, she had been doing well in the class so far. Abbey took a seat at a desk and waited for the rest of the class to arrive.

"I'M NOT LATE, I'M NOT LATE, I'M NOT LATE!" Bane shouted as he once more, almost broke the door down. Seeing he was actually early, he spoke in a normal voice. "I'm actually not late..." His mere moment of happiness was crushed when the message on the board reminded him of the exam he now had.

''No, you are not. But you are as clumsy as always. Sit down, Mr. Bane and wait for the exam to start I hope you are prepared.'', McCoy said, rolling his eyes. He turned to Abby. ''Why hello Miss Dawn... how are you on this fine morning? I hope you are ready for the exam. But I am sure you will not have any major problems.'', he said.

Abbey smiled at Professor McCoy."I'm good, why thank you Professor. And I think I will do fairly well on the exam." Abbey said. Abbey had spent the last few days studying so she would do well, though she thought she was going to do just fine; transfiguration was one of her better subjects.

James entered the room, eyes scanning the room, and Transfiguration book opened to the page on Piscinofors. He snapped the book shut as he placed his stuff on a nearby desk. He took a sharp inhale, as he recalled all that he had studied over time. He opened his eyes and took his seat, setting his quill neatly to the side, before looking up to the profesor and saying, "Good Morning Professor Wilson."

''Wake... Wilson? I do hope that you have not studied his subject for my exam, like you use his name instead of mine.'', he said, laughing. ''Now, only three of you, but that will suffice. The rest is failing. Now... who will go first... Miss Dawn, would you be so kind. Your question is... types of Transfiguration. What are they, how many are there and what each of them does. After you have answered your question you will... let me see, ah... yes... take this little glass.... transform it into a bird and then catch it using a spell we have practiced on our classes. You do not need to state the name of the spells, but you need to use only the spells that we have done in class. Whenever you are ready, Miss Dawn.'', he said with a friendly smile.

Abbey thought back to the very first class of Transfiguration she had done this year. "Well," she began, "there are five different types of Transfiguration." she replied. "They are animagi, cross-species transfiguration, untransfiguration, conjuration, self-transfiguration." Abbey breathed out a sigh of relief, glad she had remembered all them.

"Animagi are the people who are able to transform into animals. They practice all their life to become an animagi, and have to register with the Ministry of Magic to use their animagi form as they choose." Abbey said.

"Cross-Species Transfiguration allows you to turn one species into another."

"Untransfiguration is basically changing something back into it's original state before it was transfigured."

"Conjuration is when you conjure something from thin air."

"Self-Transfiguration is transfiguring yourself into anything you'd like. There is the possibility of transforming your whole body, or just certain parts." Abbey finished.

''Good, the verbal part is brilliantly answered. All you have to do now is transfigure the glass into a bird and the catch it and you are free to go, if you ask me. I am satisfied with your answer. Wake, you are next... prepare yourself.'', said McCoy with a smile.

"Yes Proffessor," James stated, as he stood up, wand in his real hand. He walked up to the front of the room, ready to answer whatever McCoy asked.
