Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Under the Full Moon(James) Empty Under the Full Moon(James)

Alexa stared out of the window in Honeydukes. She could see the moon out of it, glowing like a giant flashlight. She knew she had mere minutes until the transformation, maybe as little as 5. But she wanted to spend as much time out of the forest as possible. As 5 minutes became 3, she walked out of shop. And then, when there was only 1 minute left, she made it into the Forest. Alexa clutched her stomach as a giant cramp developed. She groaned in pain. It must be 30 seconds until she actually transformed.

The Full Moon. A floating oasis of pure silver light above a barren world of dull gray. James Wake was thinking about the way the moon contrasted from the world, when he realized that he was getting the werewolf itch. It was a slight inkling at the back of his head that there was a werewolf nearby, and that usually meant trouble. James was in the Three Broomsticks, staring out the window, when he shrugged and decided to hit the forest.

It wasn't too far of a walk. He recalled the last time he had walked into a forest for a werewolf, and was attacked by Christabelle Whittle. The thought still left him embittered, and his uncle had warned him against pushing charges, but he let it settle. Christy was not worth the trouble. As he entered the forest, he took out a flagon he now kept with him at all times- the anti-lycan potion that allowed werewolves to retain their conscious thought. He had started keeping doses of the potion after Alexa's little "incident." It made him feel better to help others, honestly, but he hated the scratches it usually entailed. He followed his nose to the smell of a werewolf. It seemed to be a female, but he could never tell- despite his lycan blood, he did not possess the full facilities of a wolf. He found, of all the people, Alexa Finnigan. Already about to transform.
"Alexa!" James shouted to her, tossing her the flagon. "Drink it!"

Alexa nearly fell off the log in pain. She felt like she was being poked by thousands of porcupines on her legs, chest, and everywhere else. Alexa shut her eyes, not wanting to see the hair and claws growing. She heard a voice, a voice she somehow recognized, and heard the clink of bottle. She did not know what it was, but fumbled around blindly until she felt it. It was pretty hard to grasp, as her fingernails were turning into claws. But she managed to get it, and managed to open it. The problem was not spilling anything, as she was trembling with pain. When she felt the bottle touch her lips, she tilted her head back, and drank. It was the most vial thing she had ever tasted. But it did clear her head a little bit.

She then proceeded to fall off the log. The trembling and the pain mixed together was unbearable. Small things were poking at her skin, and she whimpered. Alexa could feel the hairs growing on her back, and her spine growing. the claws felt like they were being bent the wrong way. She finally just lifted her head up, and howled in despair. It was a long, sad howl. After her howl faded, she curled into a ball. The pain became an ache, a throb, and then it was gone. She slowly stood up, her legs not supporting her very well. She then realized her eyes were still closed. She opened them, and saw James Wake.

"Well, well, there and back again, huh?" James grinned triumphantly. "Glad I was there in time. You are Alexa, right?" he continued to ask as he swished his wand towards the remnants of Alexa's clothes. "I haven't seen you quite a while," he continued, conversationally, as he magically repaired the garments, careful not to look at them.

Yeah, I'm Alexa. Alexa shook off her pelt(which resulted in her almost collapsing, as she was still recovering. Really? Hm. Weird. I never left Hogwarts. Did you leave? Alexa climbed over the log, and sniffed the ground. Squirrel, chipmunk, centaur, the usual. She growled when James waved his wand at her clothes, but relaxed when she saw he was just mending everything.

"Hey, calm down," James said comfortingly, as he walked closer to her. "I flitted here and there for a while, so I guess we wouldn't have run into each other that often." The truth was on, he was surprised he hadn't sought her out. He wondered how Christy had treated her.

Here and there as in Hogwarts and...? Alexa asked. She pricked her ears, hearing twigs snapping, bugs chirping, and no birds singing. Not surprising, the forest is not somewhere you would want to make your home. Well, if you were a werewolf, the forest was perfect.

"Um," James was going to compose an answer that she would understand better, but stopped himself when he saw her ears perk up. Eyes slanting from side to side, his ears keen, and his nose flared, James reached for his own wand. "What's up? Is something wrong?"
Flashbacks from the last time they had been in the forest together begin to creep into his mind.

Hm? Oh, nothing. Just listening to the animals. Alexa cringed as she heard her stomach growl. She knew that meant killing an animal. But she needed blood and meat, and her instincts took over. I think I'm gonna hunt a little. You want something? Without waiting for an answer, she crept up behind a tree, and saw/heard/smelled a deer. Delicious...

"Nah, I'm good. You have a good hunt. Don't... you know... go too far, ok?" James was a bit worried about her balance. Alexa seemed to be lacking in the balance department, and her scrawny wolf form was a bit out of shape. Had she been not eating period? Or was that just a product of the transformation.

Do werewolves eat Cheesecake?
