Trade your heroes for ghosts

To use the coins was something completely knew to the young Gryffindor. He had answered the calls, yes, but that pretty much outdid his expertise. As Terry moved away to do what he said he would Stephen took out the coin from the pocket of his jacket and looked at it. The man was an Order member and he was asking to summon the rest of them. It shouldn't hurt him or get him into any more trouble than he would be if he refused. Besides, Stephen was rather curious about the whole situation. He pointed the wand at the coin in his hand and cast the charm.

What was left was waiting. Every five minutes he glanced at the coin wondering if he had done it right when no one was showing. Finally a guy he knew from sight ever since he came into the Army came in. Clair, he thought that was. He came to join him and Terry then curious for a slight bit more of info. But then it downed on him... "It worked..." he said mostly to himself still unbelieving. Clearly staring a Potter Army's meeting was something Stephen has never done. "Mr. Boot seems to be here to teach us some extracurricular... I'm not really sure of what" he told Clair.

Mr Boot.  That got Clair's attention.  Terry Boot was someone people usually forgot had been in Dumbledore's Army.  But his daughter had been a Ravenclaw, and only graduated a couple of years ago.

"You're Jenna's dad," he said.  "The mysterious one."

He fluttered his fingers in Terry's direction to emphasise the mystery.

"I thought you were against all this."

Terry glanced down at the younger boy. He hadn't even known if the spell would work.

"I am against all this," he replied to the Ravenclaw's enquiry. "Thinking your only choices are ones you like is just cognitive dissonance. You have to overcome it. Especially if you join a covert student society."

At the Gryffindor's reminder that he was here to teach them something, Terry decided it was beyond time to stop being evasive. Especially as he'd just been called mysterious. He didn't think he was mysterious.

"The Order went through some turmoil after Grimmauld Place burnt down," he told them. "I've been asked to teach you The Unforgivables."

That was likely a little too blunt, but Terry was distracted from dwelling too much upon it by yet another student joining them.

This was the first Potter's Army meeting Christian had been to. It had been hard enough to persuade Ace and the Other Christian to let him join up in the first place. He was a Slytherin, and the Deputy Headmaster's brother (and now the Headmaster's brother, worse luck) and Clytemnestra had used him as an excuse that one time to needle Apollo about Professor Potter.

So when he entered The Room only to find that Alice and Christian weren't there, he was relieved. Relieved and slightly annoyed. They couldn't even be bothered to come to a meeting if they didn't organise it. Maybe... maybe Selwyn was right about Potter's Army and The Order.

"Hello," he said, pausing near the door. "I'm Christian."

Stephen looked from one to the other as they went on. He might as well been ran over by the Knight Bus because taking out the basic connectors and sentence builders he had no idea of what they were speaking of. His attention was caught by one word at some point though. "The Unforgivables? As in... The Unforgivable spells?" he asked rather bluntly and a bit out of character.

He glanced at the newcomer as this one joined them wondering if he should go for a quick introduction. But he was still a bit uneasy with the idea of the unforgivables to decide so he stood silent.

"Those very ones," Terry told them.

"I won't make you cast them," he reassured the Gryffindor boy.  "And I'll tell you about them before we do anything else, so you can make an informed decision."

As he spoke, furniture began to materialise around the room.

"Can I get your names?" he asked the two who hadn't introduced themselves.

Stephen nodded at that. Obviously not. Those spells were forgiven per se; no one should ever cast them, the more make a bunch of teenagers do it... Well, they could as in it was doable but not a very good action. It was wise though to inform the next generation about them. So they could distinguish them and if so avoid them when cast. "That's actually a good idea" he said more to himself.

He hadn't even thought of presenting himself... Where was his head anyway? "I'm Stephen" he said and waited for the others to introduce themselves as well.

Clair threw himself down on a wing chair, hooking one knee over the arm. This guy was definitely that Terry Boot. He even sounded like Jenna did sometimes, or he supposed, Jenna must sound like him.

"Clair Sauvage," he said. "Resident bad boy. I play by my own rules, et cetera."

His second statement wasn't a boast. Clair wasn't stupid enough to boast about that to adults. So it was delivered in a bored monotone. He was the school bad boy and he did what people expected the bad boy to do.

Terry had no doubt Clair was the school bad boy.  There was an accent when he said his name, but Terry would have been surprised if he'd never been teased for having what most British children considered a girl's name. And that was without even taking into account that he was already as tall as Terry and broader in the shoulder, or the tattoo peeking out from beneath his upturned collar.

Terry chose newly-conjured stool so that everyone would be able to see him, and motioned the other boys to join them.  It was a disappointing turn out, but he supposed that when the rest of Potter's Army heard what had happened, they would turn up next time he arrived.  If only to chastise him.

"Stephen, Clair, Christan," he repeated their names.  "I had assumed there would be more of you, but it's probably better this way."

"Do you all know how The Unforgivables work?" he asked.

Christian shook his head as he came over to the small group.

"I don't," he volunteered, "but I'm only a second year."
