Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Rain...rain... don't go away Empty Rain...rain... don't go away

drip...drop...drip... drop...
The sound of the rain hitting Maura Goldstein's umbrella as she walked through the rain on an gloomy rainy afternoon.  As she walked through the rain, her high heel boots clicked on the sidewalk as she walked to her destination, which was a small cafe not to far from where she lived.  Maura looked up at the sky and smiled, it been raining all week and she was quite glad about it, Maura loved rainy days it was better then the dreadful heat they been having lately.  Maura wasn't a fan of summer, she preferred the winter time, besides the cold never bothered her anyways. Wait... did she just did a quote from the muggle movie Frozen? Oh...well, she loved that movie, it was one of her favorite Disney movies.

Humming let it go to herself, the rain started to beat harder on her umbrella.  'Oh crap I better get to the cafe quickly before it really starts to pour! Maura thought to herself.  She ran as quickly as she could in her heels to the cafe and walked in just as it really started to pour down raining.  'Whew...made it!'Maura thought to herself she took a seat beside the window watching the rain hit the windows and roll down.  She loved watching the rain, it was so smoothing and calming, she just loved the watching it and the sound of it.

As the waitress came by, Maura ordered herself some mint tea and chicken noodle soup, her traditional meal on rainy or cold days, on colder days it was hot chocolate but it wasn't that cold just rainy.  Maura turned back to the window counting the raindrops on the window as they rolled down.  One.... two... three... four... at the sound of her mint tea being set before her, she jumped mentally cursed to herself.  'Bloody hell, she scared the crap out of me!' Maura thought to herself.  The waitress apologize for scaring her, Maura shrugged it off. "It's fine, I was in my own little world, thank you."said Maura taking a sip of her mint tea.  As the mint goodness hit her throat, she was warmer and much more calmer, but then again it always calmed her.

Rain...rain... don't go away Empty Re: Rain...rain... don't go away

Yeah, Dom was running late, because that was an integral part of who she was and why she was such a useless human being. She couldn't be counted on to be late, and anyone who knew her well enough had ceased holding it against her. Of course, the rain had been an added layer to the multiple reasons (and nonreasons) she was ever late, because she could not be bothered to check the weather before she stepped outside. And with loud music always permeating from the neighboring flat, the sound of raindrops on curtain-clad windows were lost to her.

So when she stepped out in shorts and a cute halter top, flip flops and hair straightened, it was with a roll of her eyes and a curse that she spun around and stomped back inside.

Now she approached the cafe, still having forgotten an umbrella and pulled her jacket over her head, the bottom of her jeans getting soaked as she slid into the entrance. She would have fallen, too, her sneakers so worn that they were useless when wet, but she managed to grab hold of the host up front and stop herself from falling.

Patting the man on his shoulder for his help, she pulled her jacket off and flapped it, droplets of water flinging everywhere, wringing out her high ponytail as her eyes glanced around til- aha!

"Maura!" she called, waving, oblivious to the fact that no one had raised their voice in the coffee shop all morning. The two had run into each other and done the usual routine of 'oh, we muuust get coffee' but Dom had actually followed through this time, despite he usual noncommittal nature. Lately, she had actually gotten really good at the whole following-through thing. It was a neat trick Declan had taught her.

She told the host her order, a peppermint tea and a strawberry scone, even thought that wasn't his job, and she squelched her way over to the former Hufflepuff, flopping into the seat across from her. "Where did this rain come from? Man," she shook her head, peeling off her coat to hang it around her chair.

Rain...rain... don't go away Empty Re: Rain...rain... don't go away

Maura enjoying her mint tea and a good book, she looked up from her book as she heard a familiar but perky voice calling out to her. Putting her book down she looked at ex Gryffindor and smiled. "Well... well, aren't we a bit behind schedule today Dom?" Maura asked her playfully. Although the weather probably had a lot to do with it, Maura loved rainy days, but this was a bit ridiculous. Maura hated when it rained too bad or too heavily, she was terrified of thunderstorms and hated them, for a good reason as well.

Maura looked at Dom shaking her head. "Seen you forgotten an umbrella, goodness Dom, you must be freezing!"said Maura frowning. "Good thing you have a chance to warm up and dry off getting out of this horrible down pour of water from the sky!"said Maura chuckling. "I honestly don't know Dom, I been asking myself that all day, I mean I love rainy days but this is a bit much."said Maura. Maura wished that it would stop raining this much, but living in London, they gotten noting but rain the majority of the time. Although she wondered what it'll be like to live in a place that didn't rain as much, she honestly didn't think she could get use to it, she'll be so used to it raining.

Taking another sip of her tea she set it down before smiling at the former Gryffindor and school mate. "So how you been Dom since we spoke last?"Maura asked her curiously. They weren't friends, but they did know each other from school, Maura was hoping to be friends with Dom she was very nice. Maura didn't have very many friends, she had trusting issues that she was trying to overcome, and was very shy.
