Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Something Sweet Empty Something Sweet

Post by Yvette Tungsten-Wells Sun Jan 25, 2015 3:05 pm

Yvette walked into Honeydukes because she was wanting something sweet. She was wearing jeans with her nice flowery top paired with a pair of high top chuck taylors. She was looking through all the candy finding the ones she wanted putting them all in separate bags. She found her favorite candy and it took her back to when she was in school. She used to come here when they were allowed to buy some of this and she couldn't help but smile at the memory. Then she remembered that her old boyfriend bought it for her once and she smiled fondly at the memory. Shaking her head to clear her thoughts and continue with her shopping.

Yvette was heading towards the register to pay for her items when she saw something. It was a new type of candy and she thought she'd try it. As she started heading for the door again she bumped into someone dropping her bags. "I'm sorry sir, I should have been paying more attention." She said as she crouched down to begin picking up all her bags and wrangle some back in the bags. Finally getting the last bag she was about to stand up when someone bumped into her sending her forward. She dropped her bags and threw out her hands to catch herself before hitting the ground.

Something Sweet Empty Re: Something Sweet

“Oh, shit.”

The words left the throat of the Weasley man quicker than air ever could. He gaped at the woman before him that he nearly sent sprawling across the floor. He’d reached out, caught her around the middle and brought her into his chest. Only, he knew that waist. He knew that figure. Merlin, he even knew that shampoo. It set his pulse racing, just as it always had done, and for a moment he let his forehead rest on the back of her neck. His lips almost found that spot where her spine began in the midst of her dark hair. Almost. But then he remembered himself. He remembered who he was. He remembered who she was. They weren’t together anymore.

Leaning back, Hugo Weasley set Yvette Tungsten-Wells back on her feet and let his hands linger for a moment on her hips before he released her and leaned down to take up her bags, offering a hesitant and regretful look to the other man who shuffled off with a derisive look towards them both. Standing again, Hugo held out the bags to Yvette, clearing his throat awkwardly as he tried to find words of apology or, perhaps, some sort of proper hello to her. All he could do was stare, instead, and try to figure out what had changed in her face. She was still so beautiful. He’d forgotten.

“Sorry, Yvvy,” he murmured, his tongue falling over his old name for her as though it was the easiest and most approved thing in the world. “Is anything broken in here?” He queried.

Yvette felt hands around her waist pulling her against someone's chest. Her hands landed on those hands and that's when she knew who it was. Her heart began pounding as she leaned back into his trying to find her footing. She didn't want him to let her go but she knew that they were no longer together. She wanted nothing more than to be able to kiss him again. Closing her eyes to get rid of the image that came at her. She knew that he probably didn't remember her let alone anything else. She took a deep breath but she shivered softly before she found her footing.

Yvette wanted to scream at the loss of his hands at her waist but she knew that he wasn't hers anymore. She turned as he retrieved her bags from the ground and she couldn't help but take in his figure which didn't change much. Seeing that his hair was still shaggy she had to fight the urge to run her hands through it. As he got back up he held out her bags she took them trying to make sure her hands didn't tremble. Looking up at his face she couldn't believe how handsome he still was.

"Hello Hugo." Yvette said softly her voice slightly husky. "No, nothing's broken. Thank you for not letting me fall."

Something Sweet Empty Re: Something Sweet

And there she was. Yvette. Hugo hand’s twitched, desperate to touch her. His mouth had run dry and as he swallowed, his throat began to ache. There was a world and a lifetime between them, it felt. He’d never quite experienced the breakdown of a relationship like this one, not that he’d had anyone after her, really. Yvette had been a moment in time and he’d naively wanted that moment to last forever. It hadn’t, as all good things were wont to do. She was gone now. Snuffed out of his life yet here, so close to touch he could smell the soap on her skin. But she wasn’t his.

She was still as beautiful as she always had been with those quirky features he’d felt he was the only one in the world to really appreciate. The swathe of her skin, the intricacies of her small fingers and the way her chest rose and fell, filling her with life… it was intoxicating to him, still. He felt as though there was a pane of glass between them, one he could press his hand through and shatter if he so dared to but he feared that in doing so he’d shatter them both, too. There was a reason for his absence in her life. He’d been no good to her. He’d hurt her. He’d hurt them both. Despite it all, though, he still felt as though he loved her.

“I’ll always catch you, Yvvy,” he found himself croaking, his cheeks colouring a little. “I didn’t mean to hurt you.”

Still talking about the near-miss, Hugo? a little voice in the back of his head crooned, one that sounded frighteningly like his mother’s. He swallowed and forced his lips upward into a sort-of-smile that made his moustache quirk up and his chin wiggle his goatee. He didn’t feel it though. He couldn’t feel the smile in his heart like he used to. She’d made his heart quake and his palms warm in the past. He’d adored every inch of her and made sure she knew of it under his lips and under his furtive touch. He’d loved her. He loved her. Merlin, he loved her.

Yvette wanted so badly to touch him that she had to curl her fingers into her palm. Her heartbeat is still erratic as she looked at him. He still looked the same to her and she desperately wanted to throw her arms around him. She heard his words and looked in his eyes, she could feel her own eyes welling up with tears. Not letting herself chance it anymore she walked up to him throwing her arms around his neck. She couldn't help it anymore she didn't want Hugo to blame himself for what happened between them.

"Please don't blame yourself Hugo, please." Yvette whispered in his ear as she buried her head in his neck. Taking in a breath she smelled everything that she loved about Hugo. It was intoxicating but she didn't want to let go of him but knowing she had to. Releasing her hold on him and backing up a little bit to put space between them. "I'm sorry," She said looking down knowing that she probably crossed a boundary she shouldn't have."I didn't mean to..." Unable to finish the sentence she continued to look down. She wanted nothing more than to continue her hug to him but knew that she shouldn't. Yvette wasn't able to tell him how she was because she feared that he would blame himself for it and she didn't want that. She loved him still to this day but she refused to let him hurt regardless of anything that happened back then.

Something Sweet Empty Re: Something Sweet

At first it felt like a single moment in time. Then it felt like eternity. Then at once, she was in his arms again as though she’d never left them in the first place. Abandoning his own things, Hugo caught Yvette around the middle and held onto her tightly as though she was the only thing anchoring him in the entire world. He wanted to hang on forever but he couldn’t. He knew he couldn’t. She made the first moves of separation, though. He took a deep breath and let her go, just like before. He set her to rights, reaching up and taking the liberty of curling some of her hair behind her ear, before letting go entirely and leaning down to scoop up his own items.

“It’s fine,” Hugo replied stiffly, unsure what on God’s green earth he was supposed to do now. “It really is … it’s … it’s fine.”

Then, of course, Hugo abandoned all sense entirely. He dropped his bags again, long having lost any affection for the items inside, and he grasped Yvette’s face, feeling the softness of her skin beneath his fingers. All he could do then was kiss her. There was nothing left for him to do. So he covered her lips with his and poured every single feeling he had into that one act. Then he split off of her, getting his petty revenge by pulling off and rubbing his mouth and trying, in vain, to get his countenance again. He stared at her, trying to catch his breath. Fear rippled over his features. “I’m not sorry for that.”

Yvette looked up at his words but wondered at the same time if it really was fine. She didn't know what to say to him that would make this easier. The truth of it was that she didn't want to make it easier. She wanted him even though they were no longer a couple. She wanted the right to touch him without fear that she was crossing some boundary that she shouldn't be. She looked at him and wanted to be alone with him to talk but she doubted that he wanted that.

Seeing him drop his bags and the first feel of his hands on her face made her gasp. Then his mouth on hers made her moan softly at the exquisite pleasure from it. She looked at him when he let go and looked at her. Hearing those words made her smile, "I don't want you to be, I'm sorry about it either." Yvette said looking at him and risking something entirely. "Kiss me again please," She wondered what possessed her but she knew already what it was. She was still very much in love with him and wanted him still. "I've missed you so much that I've tried to move on but I can't." She whispered softly wanting his hands on her again. "Please Hugo," her voice was barely a whisper as she stood there. Her own bags were abandoned on the floor.

Something Sweet Empty Re: Something Sweet

Post by Hugo Weasley Tue Jan 27, 2015 5:01 pm

The problem wasn’t her. It was a ‘it’s not you, it’s me’ situation. It wasn’t so clichéd, either. It had been Hugo. It had been his problem. He’d not fallen out of love with Yvette but they’d both known on some level or another that he was trouble and Hugo, suspected, that he wasn’t worth all the problems he caused, either. He didn’t get a pass like his Potter cousins who seemed to pull off being charmingly flyaway as though it was the better part of their nature. Albus and James seemed to be entirely composed with broody steeliness. Hugo was marked by truer loss. Granted, his cousins had their own private heartaches but Hugo had lost his best friend. What it had paved the way for was something more profound.

Hugo had nothing left after Iggy had died. Everything had paled, even Yvette. He’d abandoned everything in order to try and make sense of his world again but nothing excited him, nothing interested him and none of it ultimately evoked any emotions in him other than sorrow because he knew in his heart of hearts that Iggy should have been there with him to laugh but he wasn’t. He was gone. After that, Hugo had lost interest in everything. Benefit of the doubt had let him through his N.E.W.Ts and into the Ministry. Only now was he gathering his purpose again. Only now did he think he could love again with the same intensity as he had before. He could feel again. He was almost himself again.

“You should’ve,” Hugo whispered, his eyes closing. “You should’ve moved on, Yvvy.”

It didn’t matter whether or not either of them had moved on. In that moment, Hugo was willing to indulge narcissism. He wanted her in his arms again so it was into his embrace he tugged her, cradling her littler frame against his. He reached up with one hand, leaving the other curled protectively about her waist, and smoothed back some of her hair with a tender, mournful look in his eyes. Unfurling his fingers and closing them about her chin he brought her lips gently to his in a softer, more loving embrace of their mouths. Hugo was content like that and would have been, too, if not for the fact that they were in the middle of Honeydukes.

After a while, regret seeping into him that he had to halt their kiss, Hugo pulled away but held onto Yvette, his eyes searching hers for some sort of hint of what he was supposed to do next. He knew he couldn’t just leave it. He knew he couldn’t just leave her. Not like before. This wasn’t like before. She needed either closure or she needed his respect. He didn’t want closure. He was selfish enough to not want to give her that. That left him with the other option and Hugo was determined not to treat her poorly again.

“Can I take you out for dinner?” Hugo asked hesitantly.

Something Sweet Empty Re: Something Sweet

Post by Yvette Tungsten-Wells Tue Jan 27, 2015 5:29 pm

Yvette watched a good deal of things pass over his eyes but she waited. She wanted nothing more than to be able to wipe the sadness from him but he had to trust her. She didn't care, she would wait forever if that's what it took. She wanted nothing more than to put light back in his life and hope for everything that she was strong enough. She was determined to be strong enough to help him when he needed her most.

Hearing his words she shook her head and said, "I couldn't move on Hugo." She put her hand on the side of his face. "Every time I tried to move on I felt like my heart was breaking all over again. I couldn't move on, you are the best thing that ever happened to me." She dropped her hand back to her side thinking he probably didn't want to be touched.

When his arm came around her waist pulling him closer to her, she went without resistance. Feeling his mouth on hers made her hands come up to settle on his chest. Then one hand went up to thread into his hair, the strands felt like silk around her fingers. Her blood was like honey with how he was kissing her and she felt her heart swelling with all the love she had for him.

She wanted to complain about him releasing her from the kiss but she looked at him in the eyes. He was searching for something and all he would see in her eyes was how much she loved him. She didn't want him to ever let her go, her hand was still on his chest and she curled it against above his heart. Her other hand slid down from his hair to his neck, she didn't want to break the contact she had with him.

Hearing his question made Yvette smiled softly, "I would like that very much Hugo."
