Meeting new people Empty Meeting new people

Post by Lilyanya Faulkner Fri Oct 03, 2014 6:01 am

Lilyanya walked down towards the hospital wing slowly taking keeping her head clear. She was wearing her usual long black cloak with her leather gloves. She wore a light pink dress that showed through the front of the cloak with each movement forward. Her hood was pulled down on her face to shield out the sun in case it came out of the clouds. She was nervous to meet her co-workers let alone her boss, but she was excited to use her magic for healing. Anya paused outside the door of the hospital wing and sighed softly then pushed the door open walking in.

Looking around Lilyanya smiled remembering the hospital wing looked just like remembered it before. She walked slowly down the rows of beds looking around wanting to become familiar with everything. She grinned widely as she stopped in the middle looking at the paintings on the walls that were around the room. Walking over to one of windows she looked out and smiled widely at everything, she never knew how much she missed being at Hogwarts until right then.

Meeting new people Empty Re: Meeting new people

Post by Ariella Rhodes Fri Oct 03, 2014 8:36 pm

Ariella has been working at Hogwarts for at least three years now. Even with that amount of time she hadn't really gotten to know any of her co-workers. Everyone was always busy and doing their own thing, but it's just the beginning of the school year right now. She definitely has time on her hands to introduce herself to other people or allow other people to introduce themselves to her. She hasn't been assigned to do anything or count how many potions are in stock in the inventory. Ariella is quite glad that she has some time to breathe right now, but she knows that the chaos will begin soon enough.

Ariella made her way towards the Hospital Wing. She's used to being the first one there but this time one of her co-workers was standing by a window. Ariella knew her as Lilyanya. That's all she really knew about her. The two of them were like five years apart. Lilyanya seemed like a nice to person to Ariella but she's not sure if she can be trusted. The girl always had this doubt for as long as she can remember. Her father was never around, she would be betrayed by friends back in Korea, and betrayed again in the school that she was enrolled in. Ariella built up this wall to protect herself from that ever happening again. Sure it's hard to let people in, but it's better than being backstabbed over and over again.

I guess I should go say hi, to her. The twenty two year old thought as she started walking towards Lilyanya anyways. What else can she do before all the students came? The bed sheets they might need to be changed. This popped into her head when she was halfway there. She scanned the room and saw that all the sheets have been changed. She let out a small sigh and made her way to Lilyanya. "Hey, how was your summer?" Ariella asked with a smile on her face. She looked out the window and just saw the usual beautiful view of the grassy areas of Hogwarts.

Lilyanya heard someone walk into the Hospital wing before they spoke to her. "Hello, it was fine just a little uneventful. How was your summer?" She asked smiling though with the hood it concealed her face. Looking out at the sky seeing that the sun was no where to be seen. She took off her hood put kept her cloak and gloves on her hands. "Not much has changed here has it? It's still nice to look out the window here and see the grounds."

Lilyanya saw looked up at the sky seeing the sun and sighed softly as she pulled her hood more firmly down. "I wonder when the sun will go down since it's getting closer to winter now. Do you know?" She asked Ariella as she continued to gaze out the window.

Ariella smiled when Lilyana replied to her question about her summer. She somewhat expected an answer like that. It seemed like no one really did anything for the summer. Ariella didn't do anything exciting herself, but she wish she did. Now that she thinks about it, she already missed summer. She liked the nice warm weather, and being able to go out swimming whenever she could. She also had to attend to other things but besides that she had a lot of free time. She even used that free time to freshen her memory on the different spells that can be used to heal different ailments in the magical world.

"It was alright, just did some reading over the summer." The girl replied with a shrug of her shoulders. That was all she really did. Of course there were occasional family trips to the shopping center or to the zoo because it had a new exhibit. Her step father loves animals. He became a Vet in the muggle world. Apparently he was also home schooled for his magical studies.

"Yeah, not much has changed." She echoed the woman's thoughts on Hogwarts. She agreed with her, nothing really has changed since she graduated from Hogwarts. Maybe it has always been the same. The woman's question shocked her a bit. Ariella looked up at the sky and saw that the sun seemed like it was going to set soon. She didn't really know what time. "Sorry, I don't know the specific time but it seems like it will set soon." Ariella wondered why she asked. Maybe she just wanted to know. Ariella decided to change the subject. "How long have you been working at Hogwarts?" She questioned her fellow coworker.

Lilyanya smiled as she looked around the grounds then looked around the room. "There's always something to learn from reading a book and it's always entertaining as well. Of course being a Ravenclaw my nose was always in a book when I wasn't studying." She smiled as she remembered everything about her years at Hogwarts. "Yeah i'm glad somethings here always remained the same it makes it easier if you know where everything is. It's okay i'll know soon enough when it sets at least there nice big windows. Let's in light enough for the people here who may or may not be sick. It'll help them get better faster or so I think," Lilyanya smiled as she looked at the windows.

"Oh this is my first day working here, I haven't been a Hogwarts Healer long. How long have you worked here?" Lilyanya asked as she wondered how long she could go without someone realizing that she wasn't human. She hoped more than anything that no one knew her secret and wouldn't be able to tell anything different about her. "I'm ready to start working and hopefully getting things handled easily. Maybe you can help me better understand anything we may be doing here?" Lilyanya wanted to make sure she got everything right so she wouldn't look like a fool.

Ariella smiled, remembered how some of her Ravenclaw friends noses were always stuck in a book. She didn't mind she liked reading also but just not as much as a Ravenclaw would enjoy reading. She nodded in agreement with the woman. She didn't recognize her at all. Ariella guessed that she was at least twenty five years of age, but she wasn't sure. Maybe the two of them have met before when they were students, or not. Hogwarts is a huge school and Ariella knows that she hasn't met everyone.

"Oh, well welcome back to Hogwarts." Ariella said with a smile. She meant it. It's always nice to be back at the school after a long summer. "I'm Ariella by the way, what's your name?" Ariella always felt like she had to make new comers feel welcome. She knows what it's like to be a new worker or volunteer. She had to make the effort of talking to people and getting to know her fellow workers or volunteers. It didn't help with the shy front she wanted to keep up, but she did make a lot of new friends.

"About three years." Ariella said as she thought about it. She was at St. Mungo's until she was nineteen, and she landed the job at Hogwarts when she was still nineteen so three years should be right. "I'm sure you'll be great. I made some mistakes but I learned from them so don't expect to get everything right right away." Ariella warned the her. That was what she wanted to do when she first started volunteering at St. Mungo's. She wanted to be able to do everything right on the first day and impress the healers there.

"Thanks, it's good to be back here." Lilyanya said smiling as she looked out the window once more. "It's a pleasure to meet you Ariella. My name is Lilyanya, but you can call me Anya." She hoped that her and Ariella could be friends as well as co-workers. The one thing she always wanted was more friends because she only had a few of them and wanted more. "So what's it like to work up here? I bet sometimes there's a dead spot here and there that causes you to be bored." Lilyanya asked smiling as she saw the sun clear the trees enough for her to lower her hood.

"Three years? That's a long time, not that i'm saying that's a bad thing. It's actually really nice to be around someone who's been here longer than me." Anya said still smiling when she looked around the infirmary hopeful and watchful. "I hope so, I asked them if i could do a few night shifts considering someone in my position but then again i'm used to it by now." She was still smiling thinking that Ariella was already told about her being a vampire. "So can you give me the grand tour of everything so i know where everything is?" Anya looked at her with a big smile.

Meeting new people Empty Re: Meeting new people

Ariella smiled, the name sounded interesting. She liked her name, it was just rare to hear someone named Lilyanya instead of Lily. The name seemed like a combination of the two names Lily and Anya. Ariella knows someone back home with the name Anya. She has always liked that name and wondered why her English teachers decided to give her the name Ariella. It's not that she doesn't like it, it's just Anya would have been nice, too.

"It's nice to meet you, too." The girl said in return. "We just tend to the wounded, like any other infirmary. Sometimes the students come in for the smallest things." She responded remembering one student coming in for a paper cut. She thought that was ludicrous but paper cuts do hurt. Ariella nodded affirming Lilyanya's assumption, "Yeah we do have some dead days here and there."

Ariella noticed that she pulled her hood down. Why was she doing that? The girl felt the heat of the sun's rays and looked out the window to see that the sun was slowly making it's ascent to the sky. She looked down at the floor appearing to be a little embarrassed about her compliment, "There are other people who have been here longer than me." She said still looking at her shoes. The night shift? Nothing happens at night... or at least I don't think so. The girl thought as Lilyanya mentioned that she wanted to work the night shifts.

"Of course," She said coming out of her thoughts. She heard her question, but all she remembered hearing was "grand tour". She was trying to figure out why this woman would want to work the night shift her first year here. "Well, as you can see this is where the patients sleep, if they need to stay overnight." The girl said gesturing to all of the beds that were in the room. She started making her way to the storage, which was towards the front of the hospital wing. "This is where we keep the potions, bandages, gauze fabrics, and everything we need to help students heal, or feel more comfortable." She said gesturing to all of the cabinets while she described what was in there.

Lilyanya smiled and said, "I'm fine with dead day here and there. Small like sickness and things like that? I'm fine with everything like that." She smiled as she was given the tour of the hospital wing. Making sure that she remembered where everything was just so in an emergency she knew.

Lilyanya then asked, "So what's it like to work up here? I know that it's nothing like St. Mungos, I learned a few things from one of the healers there. It's crazy busy over there and it was constantly on the go with everything." She wondered what everything was like here and knew that it wouldn't be anything like St. Mungos Hospital. "What do you do when there's no one here and everything is done? Do you play chess or something? Sorry for asking so many questions I'm just trying get a handle on things.

Ariella nodded agreeing with Lilyanya. Now that she didn't have to worry about school and such she can read whatever books she wanted to, or find a new hobby for herself. Ariella likes to exercise but there is only so much that she can do at a magical school. Everyone loves Quidditch, and she loved watching it, not playing. She would much rather play some of the muggle sports back home. "Yeah dead days are good, but sometimes there are too many dead days." The girl commented. Sometimes on dead days she just didn't know what to do.

Ariella agreed with her again. The hospital wing at Hogwarts is nothing compared to St. Mungo's. "You're right, it's nothing like St. Mungo's. The injuries here aren't so bad, and some of them don't even have to stay over for the night." Ariella explained about the hospital wing. It can get busy but most of the students were able to go back to their rooms to rest instead of staying in the hospital wings.

Ariella had to think about the question that Lilyanya just asked. "For me I like to go outside and walk around, I don't like staying inside for too long." She replied looking out the windows. The great outdoors was somewhat like a second home to her. "I think some of the other healers play chess, I'm not really sure." She added. Maybe the new healer wanted to play chess, that's why she asked, right?
