Unauthorized Visitor

Charlotte was quite starrtled to find a seventeen year old witch at her doorstep several months ago. She didn’t question the girl when she told her that her name was Amelia Macmillan. She had made a promise many years ago to the girl’s mother Susan that if there was a time when her children needed help that Susan herself couldn’t give that she would do it. After hearing about what was going on in the U.K. Charlotte didn’t think in twice takeing in the young witch. The Ministry could come looking for the girl and Charlotte wouldn’t give the girl up. They had no control over Charlotte and authortiy didn’t scare her anyways.

Charlotte enjoyed the company Amelia gave her. She had been letting Amelia work in the wand shop with her. The teen was a natural at it, the wands seems to accept her. Her son, Nico, has never gotten things as well as Amelia was. She treated Amelia as an daughter. Amelia was quite a mess when she first arrived and now was a totally different person. She was confident and feisty like her mother. Charlotte had taught Amelia more then just wands but that was between them.

Every day Charlotte saw more of Susan in Amelia. Sometimes she felt like she was talking with Susan but looking at Ernie. Amelia had Ernie’s blond hair and blue eyes. But her voice, attituide, dueling style, and personality reminded her of Susan. Charlotte knows that the older she gets the more she will become her mother. Her mother was more then the tough-as-nails journalist people knew and Amelia was more than she appeared to be as well.

All was quite in small Swiss village the Asper House called home. The name Asper had deep meaning in both the wizarding and muggle population. The wizaarding folk know Charlotte as the wandmaker and owner of Asper Wands, as well as a practitioner of Dark Magic orginating from the murder of her husband and daughter. Charlotte looked out the window of her kitchen that looked out into the back yard. She watched Amelia feading some carnivorous plants, she smilled as she let the certain fall back down across the window. She walked into the family room and took out her journal and made notes about how the wands reacted with Amelia.

Alex right now had now idea what he was doing. It started with that damn marriage law. He hadn't been forced to marry anyone yet, which was great to say the least. But it had done something to Alex's friend, Amelia... His history with Amelia was no secret. He had done his fair share of kissing her, then never talking to her again, then coming back into her life. Then arguments and all, and him being idiotically jealous when he had taken over the PA for a bit, but Amelia being chosen instead of him.

To be honest, if Alex really though about it, he didn't know what they were. But for now, Alex knew he cared about her, and wanted to make sure she was safe. And that had lead him to a small Swiss town. He hadn't told anyone where he was going, in case he was found by the ministry. Alex had planned this out ever since she left, deciding to finish his year at Hogwarts and find the girl.

Alex knew where she was, because well, in secret he knew she was going to leave, due to his seer Abilities, and had seen her in visions of this small Swiss town. Along with a house that Alex couldn't help but think be of a family members, or family friend.

Alex with him had a bag, with some clothes, and food. He had his wand in hand, having being attacked by more than one person wanting to kidnap Alexander Jones, to get ransomed money. But although he didn't look like it, fighting was his best ability. Both with and without wand. He remembered the day he and Amelia had been stuck in Knockturn alley, years ago. He had protected her then, and he was planning to protect her now.

He walked up to the house that was boarding Amelia, feeling like the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air as he knocked on the door almost too hard. The hard knock could give an impression of a Law figure knocking on the door.

Charlotte cursed when she heard knocking on the front door. If it was the damn Ministry she was blasting them off of her property and out of Switzerland if she had. They had no right here even if she was harbouring a runaway, technically a criminal. This was Switzerland not England. They had no right here.

She put her journal down and withdrew her wand. She had several hexes in mind ready at a second notice. She got up and walked toward the door. She looked out the front window before opening the door. It was just a kid but who knew what tricks the Ministry had up their selves. She scolded Amelia in German when she popped her head into the room telling her to get away before she gets herself arrested.

Charlotte opens the door wand drawn and pointed straight at the boy. She kept her face as severe and harden as possible. After all she had an image to keep up. She lowered her eyes at the boys. She assumed he didn’t know German or French.

“State your business here,” ordered Charlotte her Swiss accent thick on her tongue. She doubted the boy was from the Ministry. He didn’t look or hold himself like he was. It was unlikely but she still didn’t put her wand down.

“Who is it?” asked Amelia in German. Her voice sounded both foreign and like her. She was picking up a Swiss accent along with being able to speak German fluently, she had to learn it since she was working in the shop and dealing with German speaking customers and even a few French speaking ones, which was a challenge being Amelia knew only basic French and often accidently insulted customers. Luckily, Charlotte always covered it up.

“Silly girl, shut it and stay away,” scolded Charlotte. Amelia swore back at her in German. Charlotte’s lip twitched threatening to turn into a smirk. This certainly wasn’t the girl that showed up during Easter break anymore. This was a young woman. She wished Susan could see her daughter now.

Yes, exactly, his knocking had gotten him into trouble. Because the door had opened and a wand pointed straight at him. Surprisingly though, he was unfazed by the wand, and ignored it, as if it wasn't even there, just staring at the woman. "Ich bin Alex, ein freund von Amelia." Alex said in German. Along with having traveled the world and knowing a variety of skills that he learned in every country, he took the time to learn the native language of the country. He had lived in Germany for about three years, and it might even be argued that it was Alex's first language. But that didn't matter right now. He looked at the woman.

"I've come to see my friend." Alex responded in German. He had heard Amelia in the background, happy that he had found her. It brought a small smile to her face. "I would appreciate it, if a wand wasn't pointed towards me." He told the woman whom Alex could only think was family of Amelia or something. "I'm Alex Jones." He said, knowing he had said his name before, without the last name though. "I've come to take Amelia back to England."

Charlotte was only slightly phased by the boy’s knowledge of German. He clearly was not from the Ministry. She didn’t have to ask Amelia if she knew the boy, she knew that the girl did know him by the fact she could hear the girl fumbling around in the kitchen either trying to hide or fussing over he appearance. She knew the girl didn’t interact with boys that well, the first time Nico had come home was interesting to say the least. Neither of them ‘played’ well.

‘I may point a wand at whoever I please. This is my property,’ snapped Charlotte in German. Stupid foreign children never knew who they unintentionally challenge. The young wizards wouldn’t have dared to speak to Charlotte in the way. Charlotte didn’t care that the respect stemmed from fear or not, it was respect just the same.

‘You may come in but I highly doubt she’ll come with you,’ said Charlotte narrowing her eyes at Alex. She slowly lowered her wand. She could tell the boy meant no harm but she wasn’t sure the same could be said of Amelia. She really hoped the boy didn’t try to take Amelia by force. The girl had reserves about hexing and she won’t regret it later either.

Amelia used a cleaning spell to put all the pots and pans she had knocked over. She quickly darted into the powder room closing the door. She had on a deep red dress that went down in the middle of her shin. She pulled her blonde hair back behind her ear, she wears it straight and the colour had once again returned to its light blonde. She had natural pink lipstick on and a tiny bit of blush. She tried to go for as natural as possible. She readjusted the knee high black boats she was wearing. The lace was way too tight, she felt like if she didn’t loosen them it might just cut off her circulation.

She walked out of the powder room. She slipped her wand out of sleeve more for comfort than anything. No one was forcing her to go or do anything she didn’t want to do. She was willing to fight if she had to. She had learned a lot from Charlotte, both good and ugly. She no longer saw the world as black and white. There was no such thing as a good or evil spell. It simply was magic. It was the user that was good or evil, but she refused to be either. She walked the thin line between. She had no idea that Susan’s adult life was spent walking that thin line.

‘Hello, Alex,’ said Amelia as she walked in from the kitchen. Her voice much more mature, cold, and even. Her English accent starting to mix with the Swiss. English nearly was forced out her now. German had become more natural. She didn’t allow herself to display any emotion that gave away her thoughts.
