MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot Empty MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot

Post by Jaquellene Jack Dyllan Tue May 27, 2014 8:02 pm

Jack had already been at work when they began bringing people in. Jack pulled Claire Bishop aside who, assured Jack, that very few were happy to do it, but it was better than Azkaban. This was not going to cut it. Jack looked about and saw a crowd gathering. To her left, people swarmed into the atrium, waving their hands and shouting their rage. To the right, people were seizing Ministry workers, throwing them about, kicking down the security desk. They were descending into mayhem.

Jack hurried through the crowd, generous with her use of forearm and elbow to get her through the mass amount of people. She was headed for the fountain, the most central part of the Atrium. She jumped onto the ledge, and then jumped to the centerpiece of the fountain, carefully picking her way across the golden pieces. She reached the centaur and hooked an arm around one of his muscular, golden legs. She leaned out, looking across the crowd, and then lifted her eyes to the Ministry officials who had come to see the riot.

“We demand to see our friends and family! You cannot deny us every right! You’ve done it once, but we draw the line here!”

A small roar went out from people near her and they surged towards the lifts. Aurors and the Law Enforcement Patrol held them at bay with wands, but Jack knew they could not last forever.

MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot Empty Re: MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot

Post by Christabelle Whittle Tue May 27, 2014 9:28 pm

Christy had been up at the British Ministry for the day. She had been on business for her country…or well more like herself. She had to assure people there that she had the mental capacity to truly become Mistress of Magic in her own country. She really should have taken that position when her father had died but she felt that someone with more experience would do a better job…had she ever been wrong on that part. Her attention had been drawn towards the huge crowd as she was making her way for the exit. Something was apparently happening and the people were not very pleased about it.

Of course she had heard about the marriage law that was going on and that people were not happy about it at all. She really couldn’t blame them; it was fairly ridiculous in her opinion. She had even stated so much herself. She quickly made her way through, pushing and elbowing people out of the way towards the Atrium, where the noise seemed to be coming from. She wasn’t sure what in the world was going on, but she had read enough history to know that this very well could be the start of a revolution in Britain. Her head turned to the sound of voices.

“Stop the oppressors! Down with a controlling Ministry! You can’t keep them locked up forever!”

She was pushed going towards the lifts, but managed to push her way out towards the fountain in the center of the Atrium. She climbed up on the edge of the fountain, able to get a better glimpse. Next time don’t wear a dress that will make it so hard to climb in. she thought to herself as she tried to lift herself up to a higher position. She looked up seeing a red head leaning down from the centaur to get a better glimpse of what was happening herself.

“Hey what in the hell is going on?” she asked looking up at the girl and then back towards the Aurors and Law Enforcement Patrol.

MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot Empty Re: MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot

Post by Hallie Cooper Tue May 27, 2014 11:58 pm

The auror office had been busy lately. It appeared now was the time to take action against those who hadn't obeyed the Marriage Law. Admittedly Hallie felt her time was being wasted. Her job was to capture, investigate and write reports on dark witches and wizards. Did not following the marriage law make a witch or wizard dark? Not in her eyes, although the enforcement squad had been overloaded with work that had managed to find it's way into the auror office, and being the pregnant trainee, Hallie found herself behind a mountain of paperwork. Something she wasn't too pleased about.

Just when she was shifting through a case about Frank Longbottom, Toby's 'friend', Hallie was distracted. Someone, a Ministry employee who she hadn't seen before, rushed into the auror office requesting for their assistance with a riot that had found it's way into the ministry. The blonde didn't need to guess what this was about. Pushing Longbottom's file aside she reached for her Rowan wand and swiftly followed other aurors out of the office and towards the atrium.

So it was beginning. The uprising had started. Hallie had to congratulate whoever was behind this, had she not been a part of the ministry maybe she would have been one of the rioters she would soon be coming face to face with. Gripping her wand tightly Hallie watched as the elevator doors opened allowing the sight of the Atrium to flood into her eyes.

Jack Dyllan, her Order ally had taken position on the centaur who resided in the Fountain Of Magical Brethren. Hallie gulped. She couldn't stand back and allow the rioters entrance, it was more than her job was worth. Hallie only hoped that Dyllan knew Hallie didn't agree with what the ministry was doing and only hoped she would understand why she sided with the Ministry today.

If this were to turn into a riot of magical conflict Hallie would simply do her best to use defensive magical to push back the rioters - the blonde didn't want to injure anybody fighting for what she too believed was worth fighting for.

MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot Empty Re: MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot

Post by Rhonin Baltheczar Wed May 28, 2014 1:36 am

When Aikaterina burst into his private woodshop that was actually a big shed on their property, Rhonin thought she'd be dragged him on another business deal or another meeting or anything but a riot in front of the Ministry of Magic. She had said it was a surprise and apparated them in a haste. Then there it was in front of him to see. A mass gathering of witches and wizards shouting and protesting in front of the ministry. They heard a red-head shout from the centaur on the center fountain and Rhonin internally groaned. He cared about politics, but not in the rioting sense.

Aikaterina and her brightly lit hazel eyes met Rhonin's. She was glowing with passion and fire. "Let's go!" she shouted so he could hear and off she went, her blonde hair bouncing behind her. Rhonin smiled to himself. He admired his sister's drive and tenacity. She was a whirlwind and he was a small cloud by comparison. He quickly followed her, making sure there was nothing around them to harm her. Now he understood why she had dragged him. Would he have been forgiving if she had come without even telling him? Not one bit. And if she had just told him, would he still have volunteered to tag along with her? Most certainly. So Kate was just find more ways to get creative with him.

Rhonin felt ridiculous, though. He stood there among jumping and shouting others, looking up at those climbing on the fountain and keeping an eye on the Ministry building as well. It was no doubt this was about the marriage law. What ever happened to civil riots, he thought. Couldn't they all just sit in front of the Ministry and refuse to move until action be taken? He frowned. The Ministry wouldn't listen to that, he assumed, but he would join those sitting nonetheless.

Aikaterina jumped and shouted her protests. "You can't make our life decisions for us! Bastards!" Rhonin grinned down at his sister. She was a fairly average height, but skinny. So he lifted her up, to her surprise, and put her on one shoulder while he pushed through the crowd toward the fountain where others were climbing. He set her down on the fountain across the way from another blonde witch shouting up to the red-head hanging by the centaur. Aikaterina patted him on the head as thanks and resumed yelling sometimes profane things to the Ministry doors. Rhonin tried not to look stupid just standing among other rioters as they heckled and shouted and held up signs to the Ministry. Hell, he was just waiting for the first sign of attack from either side so he and Kate could leave.

MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot Empty Re: MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot

Post by Pansy Parkinson-Nott Thu May 29, 2014 1:04 am

The red telephone box, a guest's gateway to the Ministry lowered once more and, swinging the door open, Pansy Parkinson-Nott stepped out into the Atrium. The scent of angry sweat pouring from protesters and the sound of signs being banged from the floor spread through her senses. The scene was the perfect stage for her next report. How would she go about this? To slam the ministry no doubt and write about the response of the new ministry. This would be their test.

The witch liked to believe that this was because of her article slamming the Ministry for their empty Azkaban threats for evaders of the marriage law. She urged people to stand up to the ministry, say no to the marriage law and clearly people had listened. The Ministry had moved to disprove Pansy's statements and in turn the wizarding citizenry had responded in the form of a riot. Perhaps the riot would turn into a full scale rebellion. Maybe the death eaters and order members would turn up, advance into the ministry and worm the forger out.

It didn't matter to Pansy if they did or didn't, not yet anyway, she would simply observe from the sidelines then report the riot as the first step for the scraping of the marriage law.

Pansy extracted a self-inking quill and a roll of parchment from her handbag ready to have a field day.

MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot Empty Re: MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot

Post by Jaquellene Jack Dyllan Thu May 29, 2014 5:59 am

Jack could see this getting out of control very quickly. She adjusted her grip on the centaur and her eyes scanned and darted through the crowd in an attempt to find someone that could be of help to her. First thing was first – get the collective to chase down one goal. That would prevent injuries that were not necessary, and would increase their chances of actually achieving something. All of the support would be wasted if people just tried to kill each other. That was not the way to get things done. Looked like Jack would have to riot the riot as well as the Ministry.

Nothing was ever simple, was it?

A random woman demanded to know what was going on and Jack called to her, “Seems people aren’t so happily married after all.” She paused. “They took those who did not cooperate to a holding cell. We’re not allowed to see them.”

Jack could see that most of the fighting and rough housing was happening closest to the lifts that would lead to the prisoners. She looked about and hopped off the fountain, once again pushing her way to the front. Once she got there, she rounded on the crowd and put her hands out. “Do NOT harm those working here! It is not the fault of the employees that this law is in effect. Do what you must but let’s not descend to the level of the animals who run this zoo.”

Jack would be more worried about her job if she wasn’t off the record working there. She turned and aimed her wand at a lift, attempting to clear its way. Immediately, a Ministry worker blocked her path. Oh boy. Forcing herself to lead by example, she lowered her wand. Staring the man dead in the eyes, she said, "We have rights 'til we're dead. We have the right to remain unwed."

It was catchy. And the people around her began chanting it.

She was good at this rioting thing.

MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot Empty Re: MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot

Post by Ally Nott Fri May 30, 2014 12:36 am

Ally knew there wasn't much she could do seeing how she was a young girl, but she wasn't just going to let them take her brother away from her! Ally remembered watching them take her brother away as horror filled her dark eyes. She also remembered trying to fight the aurors off while trying to get to Alexander.

*flash back*
Ally was in the Great Hall for breakfast as they arrested her brother right before her eyes. Seeing and hearing the whole conversation, her heart stopped. As they arrested and spellbound him, she seen Alexander look at her sadly before they took him away. " No! Alexander!"said Ally as she rush after him as a couple of aurors kept her back. "I'll tell mum and we'll get you out I promise!"said Ally fighting against the aurors. " Let go of me! I have a right to say bye to my brother you pricks!"said Ally angrily. As they relieved her, Ally cried watching as they took her brother away.

*end of flash back*

Now she was in the mist of rioters trying to get her brother free from this stupid law. Seeing her mum in the crowd, Ally knew she was try to get a story out of this. Although she didn't know Alexander was in the holding cell Ally rushed over towards her. " Mum! Mum!"Ally cried pushing a couple of people as she finally made her way towards her. She couldn't really talk seeing how she was upset but she was going to try. " They got Alexander mum, they took him this morning!"said Ally.

MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot Empty Re: MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot

Post by Pansy Parkinson-Nott Fri May 30, 2014 2:32 am

'Ally?' Pansy gasped in shock as a familiar face came bounding towards her, distracting her from the riot action and chanting initiated by Jack Dyllan. 'What are you doing here? Why-' Although before Pansy could get an answer Ally had gone on, telling her that Alexander, her very own son, was in the bowels on the Ministry no doubt rotting in a cell.

'What?' Pansy cried in horror. So Alexander had taken her Mothers advice in the prophet to stand up against the marriage law. How foolish. She thought he would have known better to get himself a criminal record. That piece of advice was for people she didn't care about to bring about the result she wanted.

'Why did you leave Hogwarts?' Pansy asked, ignoring the fact Alexander was in the ministry and adopting a more authority-like tone. 'You shouldn't have come here. I'm assuming you were here to riot?' Pansy continued. It seemed the only explanation for how was Ally supposed to know that her Mother would be there?

That mean't Alexander wasn't the only one in the family to oppose the ministry. Ally clearly wanted to stand up against the ministry. Pansy may be all for the rioting but not when it came down to her own children, her children who should be safe at Hogwarts studying.

An undesirable rage began to spread through the reporter. The ministry's ridiculous law had caused her children to stand up, they knew better yet they were so against the law it was leading them to becoming criminals. Not that she was oh so clean but at least her crimes were secret, on the down low and clever. Her children were being plain stupid and Pansy couldn't bring herself to take the blame. The ministry would take the blame for this. The ministry would suffer for enforcing such a law if it was the last thing Pansy did. The ministry had gone too far trying to eliminate the pure blood civilization with their new law, it now affected Pansy on a personal level.

'Go back to school.' Pansy ordered her daughter not waiting for a reply to the questions she'd just asked. Her daughter didn't need to be a part of the riot, Pansy had bigger plans to put in place.

MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot Empty Re: MASS THREAD : Ministry Riot

Simon Garth stood unmoving in the face of complete and utter chaos. He had seen a lot, during his time working for the Ministry. He had lived through the first Wizarding War, watched as friends and family fell due to politics and battle alike. But then He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named had been vanquished, and Harry Potter became the most famous baby in Wizarding history. Things had been good, until the dark wizard Voldemort had come back. The Ministry had tried to maintain a calm front, even an unfazed and oblivious one for a time, but inside the reinforced office walls, there had been nothing but fear.

Simon was not terribly old, but he was old enough to have seen the rise and falls of many Ministers, factions, and individuals. He believed in his government, even if it sometimes went a little astray. The Member of the Wizengamot was a patient man. The people currently filling the Atrium of the Ministry, were not.

- - - - -

Adam surveyed the sight before him with wide eyes and furrowed brows. The Auror may not have been a huge fan of the Marriage Law, but he understood and supported the reasons for it. If the number of witches and wizards continued to decline at the rate it had been, they'd be extinct before long. Still, perhaps the Ministry could have found a slightly nicer way to do it than this. The Auror wasn't a huge fan of conflict. Not conflict like this, anyway, where things weren't so cut and dry. Chasing down a coldblooded murder, that was simple. But telling people to sit back and be quiet while their family or friends sat in a cell? That was hard.

Casting a spell on his voice to make it far louder, the once-Hufflepuff stepped up onto the slight platform in front of a floo grate. "EVERYONE, PLEASE CALM DOWN," Adam said, magnified voice easily louder than the screaming, "I UNDERSTAND THAT THE SITUATION IS DESTRESSING, AND YOU ALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO YOUR OPINIONS, BUT PLEASE SETTLE DOWN. THANK YOU." Canceling the spell, Adam could only hope that the people would listen.

Post by Jaquellene Jack Dyllan Fri May 30, 2014 8:54 pm

Jack looked about, her mind constantly calculating. On one hand, the riot must be contained to keep everyone safe, as Jack believed she had a spirit of protection rather than of destruction. On the other hand, if they were too meek, there was the possibility that those they came to save would be found to be in greater danger than before. Bodies surged around her and she caught arms, trying to slow the violence of their movements down, but there was too many, even for Jack Dyllan.

She heard a voice and she whipped around, eyes flitting about to find the source. She spotted him and made her painstaking way through the crowd towards him. She looked the man straight in the eyes and said, “Then let us see our friends and family. There was no notice, no warning, just a mass kidnapping.” She glanced around the crowd. “I can help you control this crowd if you take though of us with a right to see those the Ministry has stolen from us.”

Such harsh words from such a small-framed woman. Somehow, though, Jack Dyllan never did seem small.
