Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Nostalgia Empty Nostalgia

Post by Felix Barker Sat Apr 19, 2014 4:34 pm

Well this was dangerous and reckless and idiotic.

Felix stood with a cloak over his head. His long hair and beard hid most of his face anyway. But after stealing a cloak off a bench, he had hidden his worn and tattered clothes. He was nearly impossible to recognize, but he was still extremely nervous. Nostalgia had led him here. Standing with his back to a wall, looking out over the crowd of noisy and happy shoppers. Easter was soon, and people were picking up supplies to spend the day with their families. He watched their happy shopping with a look of displeasure on his face.

He had never really been welcomed on these streets, people feared him, and rightly so. But he couldn't help but... miss it. These people who had made him what he was, made him the killer he was. Yet here he was, watching all of their happy, relaxed faces. How he wished they'd stop smiling. If he just ran out into the road and started to throw curses, cause a little chaos on what was an ordinary day. But he knew better then to do that.

No one was really looking for him at that point, they had figured he was either dead or moved country, it was the smart thing to do. But here he was, he had never been extremely smart, mostly sloppy and a complete idiot. How he had made it into Ravenclaw he'd never know, but that was years ago. He was older and much less willing to get his name in the papers.

Rachel walked along the cobble stone streets of Diagon Alley. She heard guys whistle at her and she giggled to herself. She was used to male attention, even the occasional female. She winked at the group of boys who seemed about 17 or 18, just out of Hogwarts. She needed something better to play with. Then, she found it. Well rather it found her. She turned the corner, and bumped right into the perfect play thing, knocking them both to the ground.

Felix had just turned away from looking at the people in the road, when suddenly a woman slammed right into him. He lost his footing and fell hard onto his back, catching himself with his palms on the rough cobblestone. He felt the skin shred and knew they would be bleeding. He cursed quietly and reached up immediately to fix his hood. Even without it, his face was covered in a pretty scraggly beard, his hair was long and pulled back into a low pony-tail.

His eyes were sunken in, and if anyone had met someone who had gone to Azkaban, they'd know the tell-tale sign of someone who had been. The sunken in eyes, the permanently slightly grey-ish tinge to the skin. The hollowed out look to the cheeks. This was a man who had seen and done bad things, enough to get him chucked in with Dementors for long enough to have them affect his appearance.

Felix pulled his wand out and turned to glare at the woman who had slammed into him. "Watch where you're going then!" He growled, his voice hoarse and unused. He cleared his throat and tightened his grip on his wand, which was hidden from her view. He was prepared to run if she recognized him or his voice. He never knew how much people remembered these days.

Rachel squeaked softly when the man yelled at her. Geez, someone was touchy. "Sorry. I wasnt watching where I was going." She whispered softly. Her voice filled with both lust and fear. She cocked her head to the side, he seemed familiar. But she couldnt quite put her finger on it. "Are you ok?" She asked gently, not wanting to anger him again. He seemed a bit unstable and did not want to make him mad in case he was dangerous.

"Course you weren't watching where you were going, otherwise you wouldn't have hit me!" He growled, lifting his hands up to look at the blood of them, staring at them for a moment with a bit of interest before holding up his wand and waving it over his hand, watching the skin knit back together neatly, before letting his wand hand fall back down to his side.

His eyes darted towards hers when she asked if he was okay, and he nodded, adjusting his hood back up on his head and pushing himself to his feet, hesitating, before reaching out a hand to help her up. "Yeah... fine..." He growled, turning his head away from her so she couldn't see the conflicted looks on his face. His first instinct was to run, get as far away from this place as possible. But with this girl here, it would only draw suspicion. So he had to act like he was any other random stranger who had been hit while walking down the road.

"You uh... here for shopping then?" He asked gruffly, his face still turned away from her, so all she would see is the side of his hood.

“I said I was sorry.” Rachel hissed at the mystery man. Who was he? She tried to get a better ook at his face, to see if she knew him. But he was determined to keep his identity hidden. She groaned and stood up, dusting herself off. “Well, I’m glad you are ok.” Rachel whispered. She noticed as his eyes darted around them, what was he doing? She shook her head and smiled, “I’m not really shopping. Well not in the traditional way.” Rachel was shopping, but not for clothes or supplies. She was shopping for boys. And she just found her hidden item. If only he wasn’t so… stubborn. “I’m Rachel by the way.”

Felix could feel his body tense when she tried to get a look at his face, and he quickly looked away again, as though looking for someone who wasn't there. "Yeah.." He grunted, turning to glance her over for a moment before shaking his head. "Not in the traditional way?" He asked, his eyes finding hers for a split second before looking away again, looking around the street again, watching the faces of people passing as he casually leaned against the wall.

He was thin, but pretty muscled due to constantly running and having nothing else to do but work out. So while he was thin and malnourished, he had a toned look to him, even under his cloak and baggy clothes. His shoulders were broad and his waist-line lean. He let his eyes wander away from her again, looking anywhere but at her, and after a moment brought his hand to his mouth, coughing once and looking up towards the sky. "What's that supposed to mean?"

Rachels blonde hair blew in the wind and her brown eyes sparkled when she laughed. People had always told her when she laughed it sounded like bells or angels.
I mean as in… well… its complicated. You wouldn’t understand.” She teased flirtatiously and winked at him. “You know, its only polite when one person tells you there name to tell them your name in return?” she bumped his hip playfully and giggled. She shivered as a cold breeze blew by them. It was cold for a late summer day. Rachel hated the cold, she always had and always will.

Felix winced as the woman laughed and muttered something about him not understanding. Of course she thought that, every woman thought that. Felix felt his eyes close and a shiver ran through him of the last time a woman had so much as brushed against him, Naomi stood so clearly in his mind he thought he might go mad standing there talking to this random woman on the street. He wanted her to go away, but he couldn't do anything about it as she bumped her hip against his.

She wanted to know his name?

For a moment Felix was almost tempted to tell her it, flat out let out his name in public and watch the look on her face as she realized who she was talking to. A man who had just a couple years ago been in all the papers, kidnap and torture his most common crime, put in Azkaban, only to be taken back out, only to go back on the run again.

The kill on sight list was probably still in effect, though he doubted he'd have any run-ins with dumb Aurors. No one was looking for him anymore, he hadn't caused any problems, and he had died in the view of society. Good for him, bad for them, for it meant he was still alive and well and kicking in the world.

After mulling his thoughts around for a few moments, he glanced towards her and in his usual gruff manner said quietly "Alex... Alex Fawn." He growled out his fake name with authority, no stammering or even a bat of an eye. He knew his fake names by heart, he knew them all. For he had many. He had never stayed in one place long enough to fear one person finding one name, and another a different one. He was gone within a week of someone having to ask for his name.

Felix looked away from the girl again and ran his hand through his hair, pulling at a tangle for a moment before sighing. "Hey.. why don't we get a drink or something... just for having run into you and being so rude about it afterwards.." He said, slowly turning his gaze on her. If he was with a female, there would be no one to suspect him. He could get all the way in the Leaky Cauldron without even a second glance. He'd get to hear what people were talking about these days, and maybe hear a bit from this lady who had so rudely ran into him.

Rachel waited a while as he took his time to tell her his name. “Well Alex Fawn, as I already told you, I am Rachel. Rachel Masters.” He then suggested they go get a drink. Rachel smiled victoriously and smiled, “I’d love to.” Result! She was finally getting somewhere with her hidden jewel. Speaking of jewel, she began to twirl the emerald around her neck and smiled to herself. “I can pay since I’m the one that ran into you.” She said shyly. She shivered again as another breeze blew by them. “Why is it so bloody cold out today?”
