Uh-oh here comes trouble!

After being in St. Mungo's for almost a week now, Katie was awake and finally able to walk out of St. Mungo's to go home.  Although she still had therapy sections with her therapist every Friday after school, but that was a private matter to her.  Although no one knew of what she was in St. Mungo's but her, Dessa, Becca and Cupid.  Although from what Dessa told her, Cupid was to shocked over the fact she was her sister to even know she was in a coma.  She didn't even know if he was even there when she was in her coma or not, even though Medusa told her he was.
 
Now here she was a day after she been released, Katie was back at Hogwarts to find so many things had changed while she was out, starting with these stupid decrees!  Katie doesn't know what the ministry is trying to get at, but it was plain stupidity in Katie's opinion.  Although Katie looked back to her normal self some, she was still pale and weak some.  She looked like she was a twig that was about to break seeing how small and fragile she looked.  Although she told thousands of healers she was fine, they made her eat twice as much as she normally ate and they had Medusa and the other watch her like a hawk.  It was a bit annoying to Katie, but she knew they didn't want to lose her like they almost did.
 
Although Katie was back to her normal ways, she talked to everyone liked she used to, but for some reason she been avoiding Cupid.  She been focusing on her studies and quidditch pratice which Becca and the team said she was great addition to the team!  Katie was starting to forget everything that happened between her and Cupid,  seeing how she was so wrapped up in her studies and quidditch.  Alot of people were saying that she was becoming the younger and smaller version of Becca!  Although Becca was proud of her 'little Ravenclaw' as she called her, and told her if only Cupid was the way she was at time he'll have Outstanding grades like she did!
 
Deep in thought, Katie walked out of Entrance Hall towards the sloping lawns of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardly.  Katie wondered where she was going to go, she really didn't want to go to the lake or Hogsmeade,  she wanted to go some place unique where no one really thought she'll go!  The courtyard, she's usually never seen there Medusa was at times, but not her!   Walking a little bit, she entered the courtyard she looked to see people having snowballs fights and building snowmen.  Looking down at her bookbag that contained the book she was reading, Katie headed over towards a bench and brushed the snow off before she took a seat opening her book.
 
Deep into her book,  Katie gotten out a apple and started reading it as a snowball hit her book.   "Hey! not cool, who was that?"Katie asked as she looked up from her book at the people who were having a snowball fight.   As they shook her head at her Katie's eyes narrowed at them before she buried her nose back into her book.   As a second snowball hit her book once again, Katie looked up from her book once again.  "Ok seriously who was that?"Katie asked but she seen the people who were having the snowball fight was now building a snowmen now.  If it wasn't them, who was it?

Today had been a typical day for Becca at Hogwarts. She had rose promptly for her nine o clock charms class, of which she had managed to successfully cast the complex disillusionment charm Professor Cooper had introduced just before the Christmas break. If only she had been allowed to practice magic then Becca could have proven her ability yesterday, although not being seventeen mean't outside of Hogwarts magic was a big no no.

Of course charms was only the start of an endless list of homework. Not that Becca minded, it kept her occupied and, as dorky as it may sound, the Ravenclaw enjoyed learning. However, with the match against Gryffindor drawing nearer and nearer the question for Becca was how on earth was she supposed to fit all her NEWT work in alongside Quidditch practice? Last night they had practiced for over two hours and although it may seem nothing sat on a broom it can be rather tiresome. Thankfully Katie was at the training, something Becca was only too pleased to see.

Recently her friend had been in St Mungo's: substance abuse induced coma. It had be frightening to see her lay there, motionless on the bed. What was more heartbreaking was that fact Cupid didn't say a word, he simply stared not knowing whether it was any good him apologising whilst she were unconscious.

After the training Becca had managed to have a brief conversation in the changing room, but before the rest of the team in all Katie had said was how she intended to focus on Quidditch and her studies. It seemed her little Ravenclaw was following in her footsteps.

Ending her school day with transfiguration Becca collected her belongings and headed them out of the classroom door. To the Common Room it was for a speedy homework session before practice. Maybe she could try and talk to Katie alone again tonight, chances were slim though given the fact the team changed together unless Becca could get her little Ravenclaw to hold back? Nope. That was no use as the entire team walked back to Ravenclaw Tower together.

Pausing at a doorway to allow a stream of second years through Rebecca's blue eyes caught sight of a short girl sat reading on a bench in the courtyard below. Perhaps she wouldn't need to try and catch Katie alone at practice tonight.

'Katie.' Becca said, dodging a snowball as she paced across the courtyard. 'Katie!' It was lucky for Becca she had side stepped a half built snowman otherwise a snowball would have smacked her right in the back of the head - whizz - another shot past her. Was she some sort of target today?

Although before Becca could turn around and confront her attacker the sight of Katie looking her way caught her attention. 'Hi Katie are you okay?' Becca asked.

'Sorry Katie, I was aiming for Becca!' Cupid gasped, hurrying over after failing to hit his sister with a snowball? He'd seen her walking down the staircase to the courtyard and couldn't resist the urge to get her back from when she last beat him in a duel. It wasn't dueling but it was still a fun battle, or at least he thought it would have been if he hadn't hit Katie. Twice.

Katie looked up from her book and smiled as she seen Becca. "Oh hello Becca, fancy seeing you here!"said Katie softly.  As she asked if she was ok Katie rolled her eyes and nodded.  "I'm fine Becca honestly, I'm still a bit weak and brittle but I'm ok."said Katie honestly.  "I know your worried, but I'm not hurting myself I swear!"said Katie.  Of course she was still doing therapy and Becca took her at times, but she wasn't hurting herself anymore although she was watched by Becca when she had to take potions to increase her weight and strength after losing quite a bit of it while she was hurting herself.

Seeing Cupid heading towards them, Katie looked away from him.  "I... um... I got to get some homework done!"said Katie softly. That was a lie, seeing how Becca helped her do the last of her Charms essay this morning.  " Did I say homework? I meant studying!"said Katie.  "There's a test in Charms coming up, and I need to study!"said Katie putting her book back into her bookbag.

To be honest, Katie didn't want to face Cupid, she haven't seen or spoken to him since she woke up from St. Mungo's.  Besides, Becca told him he didn't even say a thing while she was out, which wasn't surprising to Katie.  Although people may call it avoiding, Katie called it focused on her studies and quidditch pratice.  "I'll see you at pratice Becca and see you around Cupid!"said Katie softly.  Walking off, she was hit by another snowball once again.

"Ugh... really?  Cupid really? I know it was you that did that!"said Katie angrily before shaking her head at him.  "What do you want I have to study!"said Katie.  Katie was so caught up in her studying and quidditch, that's all she thought about now days.  Katie now eat and breath studying and quidditch now days, it was her life now.  She wasn't the fun Katie that Cupid came to know, she was serious and down right a small version of Becca!  Her chocolate brown eyes looking at Cupid, there was a hint of sadness in them before she turned away from him.

If he changed, why couldn't she change as well? Besides, it was getting her mind off of him and focusing on important things. Course Katie didn't have all the friends he had, but she had the quidditch team, Maura, Olivia, the guys and Becca! That was all she needed to keep her happy. She didn't know why Cupid had to be so wrapped up in fame, he had everything he could want in front of him! Although deep down, Katie was the same fun loving girl, but that was deep down inside of her.

Of course Katie cared about Cupid, but she didn't let him see that was a weak part of her anymore. The only person who really saw her break down at times, was Becca and Dessa but that was it. Katie was a strong and independent girl now, she wasn't that weak girl that drunk various potions and cut herself due to depression.

Katie really wasn't being herself, sure she was putting on a brave face but Becca had a feeling she was still in just as much pain. What drove her to self harm was beyond Becca, there had to be more than to it than Cupid and Jeremy. Whatever it was had ruined Katie. She could barely string a sentence together without making up some sort of lie. Homework? Of course she was going to do homework, if she was going to do homework or 'study' then she wouldn't have been in the common room in the first place.

Letting out a low sigh she gave Cupid a glum look and turned to walk away. Although she'd barely gone anywhere before her eyes caught sight of Cupid crouching to the ground, curling a ball of snow and lobbing it at... Yes. Katie.

Becca was about to defend Katie, put her little Slytherin brother in his place but it appeared Katie had already done that. She was mad, but at the same time her eyes held a sadness? Perhaps Cupid had mean't more to Katie than Becca thought, a lot more.

'Don't walk away from me, Katie!' Cupid called across the courtyard.

'Cupid, what are you doing?' Becca muttered as she sidled besides her younger brother.

'I'm trying to get Katie to talk to me!' He replied, not making it a secret what Becca had asked him, 'I'm here trying to make an effort, trying to act normal, trying to avoid the fact she's been harming herself, trying to be a friend, trying to be supportive and everytime I get close enough to talk, to help, she walks away!'

Katie turned and looked at Cupid with anger in her eyes. "Why Cupid, you did the same thing to me?"said Katie. Katie had more going on with her then just Jeremy and Cupid, only person who really knew about her issue was the guys and her brother. She had abandonment issue, and plus now she thought about it, maybe Jeremy left her and abandoned her after the horrible things he did to her. It scarred Katie for life, and it made her think she wasn't good enough for him, but once Cupid left her everything started getting worse for her.

Everyone thought Jeremy was a good person, but deep down he wasn't. He was downright rude and cruel, and he treated Katie liked a rag doll! That was one of the reasons why the guys hated him so much, and didn't want them anywhere near Katie. Katie guessed that she wasn't good enough for Cupid, she didn't think she was good enough for any guy, she haven't since she was born. Although it didn't mean that it didn't hurt her, but she was slowly starting to get use to it though.

"Cupid just let me go, I don't deserve to be your friend or anything!"said Katie softly. "I'm so messed up Cupid, you don't know half the things that is wrong with me!"said Katie softly. She wasn't lying either, there was so much wrong with her right now, she needed to get her life straightened up. "Forget about me Cupid, be happy don't let me bring you down!"said Katie. "Just go and forget about me, that's what all the guys have done in my life!"said Katie looking away.

Although that was half of her secret, but that wasn't all of it. She wasn't sure if she could tell Cupid or Becca quite yet, she just couldn't. She was afraid that they would judge her, and she honestly didn't need that. Or they would think she was some kind of whore or something that let Jeremy had her way with her. She didn't know what they'll think but she looked away with tears rolling down her face.

Rebecca sighed sensing another argument was about to start once again, much like the scene at the Lake a week ago. She missed the times before all the drama, why on earth had she let Cupid go ahead with the party. Usually she would have shot the propsition down, but given it was the last weekend of the term there was hardly an excuse not to go. On the quiet Becca was wishing she hadn't gone along either, what with the outcome, perhaps Cupid would have stayed by Katie's side and none of this would have happened.

'I didn't do this to you!' Cupid retorted defensively. 'I didn't see you the day after the party because I was getting the train home, and I'll go if that's what you really want?' Although she had been in St Mungo's and the Slytherin had visited her, feeling guilty for abandoning her, the more he came to think about it the more he realised Katie was overexaggerating about him being in the wrong. So he forgot to check on her the next day, it wasn't something that extreme. He was starting to get a sense there was more to Katie than met the eye, there it was she had just said it herself, but he wished she'd give him a break and stop using him as an excuse.

'Cupid.' Becca said softly, tiltering her head and drawing lines on her forehead in thought. Cupid was willing to walk away, give up on Katie. Perhaps that was why he was placed in Slytherin, being around Katie was a handful of late and Becca guessed her brother would simply rather wash his hands of her and enjoy life. Becca wasn't like that, she cared - not that Cupid didn't - but she knew what it was like to be left. Cupid's Dad had left before birth, he'd never gotten to know him but Becca had been one. Although she didn't remember it her Father had held her in his arms every day for a year then... left. It was different.

Katie looked at him and shook her head. "I didn't say you do this to me did I Cupid?"said Katie shaking her head. "I'm tried of fighting and arguing with you Cupid, that's all we seemed to be doing lately."said Katie softly. "There's more to me then meets the eye!"said Katie softly. "There's a whole another world that's inside me that I keep hidden!"said Katie softly. "Why? because I wanted to put it behind me! but now it's coming back and haunting me!"said Katie softly.

"I'll tell you two someday, but I just can't right now."said Katie softly. "Just please understand I'm not doing this cause I don't trust you two, it's just... I really don't know."said Katie softly. "It's time to put this all behind me once again and move on, the way I been acting is childish and pathetic!"said Katie honestly. Katie had to admit it was a bit childish and pathetic, but she had a good reason why she was acting the way she was. "I know it's going to take me awhile to go back to the way I was, but will you two bare with me? I been through alot these pass couple of months!"said Katie softly.

Plus she was scared if she told them they Jeremy would only hurt her more then he has. She already had bruises on her arms and legs from him. That was the main reason why she didn't tell them for she was already in enough pain as it was. That was the reason Katie was harming herself due to her wanting to wash away all her pain and sometimes kill herself to get away from Jeremy. Although she knew she couldn't he was always there, no matter where she turned it and it scared her.

Cupid ignored Becca, dropping his jaw in protest. 'You just said I did the same thing to you by ignoring you.' It was easily to get lost in the conversation they were having, after all it was gradually picking up pace and when they were saying so much at once to each other even Becca was finding it to keep up. Even if Katie was speaking softly.

'Maybe we can help, Katie?' Becca asked, stepping into the conversation once more, her eyes fixed onto Katie's brown and her head tilted slightly. 'We wont think any little of you by accepting help, we're only human.' The brunette wasn't quiet sure whether she'd used the right words there. Katie could hide away, try and stay strong, fight the pain herself but in the end Katie would need her friends for support, support they were prepared to given them from the get go. There was nothing shameful, or cowardly by accepting their help.

'Yeah.' One simply word. Cupid could have said more, but really what else was there to say? The Slytherin hadn't always been a way with his word, especially in uncomfortable situations like the one he had somehow landed into. What goes around comes around. Karma.

Katie looked at Cupid and sighed. "Yes that part you did, or at lease I felt like you did."said Katie softly. "I felt like when you became popular you abandoned me Cupid, I sort of suffer from abandonment issue, I been left so many times before by my father and Jeremy I thought you didn't think I was good enough and left just like they did!"said Katie looking down with tears in her eyes. "Plus I was scared I lost you Cupid, you don't know what he does to me."said Katie shaking. Katie didn't want to tell anymore, but she might as well, for she was sure they were going to ask who the person was and what they did to her. She might as well tell them right? they were going to know sooner or later right?

Taking off her jacket, Katie set it to the side before pushing up her long sleeve shirt reveling the bruises on her arms. "This is what Jeremy been doing to me since he gotten back, plus I can't tell you how many time I was tied to the bed and forced to have sex with him."said Katie softly. "He used to do this before he left as well, I used to date him before he left."said Katie softly. "No one else knew caused I lied telling everyone he was best friend, I honestly don't know why I cried for him after he left, I guess I knew there was a good part of him down somewhere that I knew before he did all these things to me."said Katie crying so hard she was shaking. "That's the reason why I was hurting myself, I wanted the pain to go away and stop and plus I wanted it to all end!"said Katie softly.

"There now you know everything."said Katie softly but still looking down. "If he finds out I told you, he'll hurt me more that's why I didn't tell you guys!"said Katie softly. "I'm afraid he'll hurt me, the guys tried telling the Professors but they don't believe us!"said Katie softly. "Although I think Professor Cooper is noticing though!"said Katie. "I know I haven't been the same as I been before, but I'm sorry I'm trying to get my life back on track but it's hard!"said Katie.

'You hadn't lost me though, Katie.' Cupid sighed as he listened to her tell him about how she'd be abandoned. He was aware of the feeling, he'd felt it as a child from never having a Father.It had left Cupid had feeling alone himself at times, not worthy. He didn't realise it yet but it was what drove him towards his goal of fame, that attention to prove to himself that he was worthy.

Becca and Cupid simply stood there, a frown on their faces as they watched Katie take off her jacket, although the shock on their faces was evidence of how ill-prepared there were for what they were about to see. The pair were still taking in the visual as Katie described her abuse, graphically.

A couple of Gryffindors walking past paused at the injuries on the girls arm.

'Are you okay?' One of them asked,

'Carrying on walking.' Becca said, not giving them any attention but instead took Katie by the arm, making care to be light, and pulled her to the corner of the courtyard.

WHAM! Cupid, jaw dropped, was hit in the face with a snowball by one of the students currently engaged in snow war. He didn't respond. No flinch, no eyes of a dagger. Nothing. Instead he watched, wide-eyed as Becca led Katie away. What was he supposed to say? Was he supposed to comfort her or did Katie want him to leave? And to do it so publicly.

'Katie. You need to go to a Professor, talk to Professor Cooper!' Becca couldn't believe that the guys hadn't insisted she go, or if they had why hadn't the Professors taken this seriously? After all it was a serious issue and the Ravenclaw expected any accusations of sexual or physical abuse to be dealt with Professionally. She very much doubted what Katie was saying about the Professors.

Meanwhile, Cupid simply inhaled a deep breath, walked over and said one simply statement: 'I'm going to a Professor.'

'Just wait a moment, Cupid.'

'There are people staring and-'  Cupid didn't need to say anymore, Becca had turned around to see the people who had snowballed Cupid were gazing over and the Gryffindor's that had paused didn't carry on walking.

'Do you want to talk in your dormitory?' She asked.
