Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

The Muggle Film Club Empty The Muggle Film Club

Post by Padril Crennent Thu Sep 19, 2013 1:09 pm

For those who were interested in the Muggle Film Club/idea floated last year, I just made the first post here.

Padril has made an old projector start working. He hasn't got anything for sound, and for some reason it only seems to want to play black and white films and absolutely refuses to work with anything starring Buster Keaton. He wants to start a film club, mostly to see who'd be interested and to meet new people, but also as a bit of a snub to the Dark Followers and blood purists. After one or two meetings, I was expecting the Dark Followers to rally and break the projector and maybe wreck up the room; a symbol of their influence, and a nice way of bringing some conflict to the school.

Padril's put up posters everywhere, has spoken to friends, and spread the word. If you'd think your character would be interested, have them check it out. Once again, you can catch it here.

I have two characters who would be interested!

Bertie, who you may remember? He's now a fourth year Ravenclaw, grew up in the muggleworld being born to a squib but was aware of magic so he is kind of split down the middle and enjoys the best of both worlds. He is super creative and would pop down at some point but I don't know if he would be a regular member.

Jackson Parker, sixth year Hufflepuff. Little bit of a Ravenclaw in that he likes tk e organised, neat, and puts lots of effort into his study. He has a seed of natural knowledge but by no means a tree so needs to work hard to get the good grades that he gets. He is also confused about his sexuality and loves to be around people. Friendship means more than anything to him so it will be good for him to socialise and take his mind from things so he would defiantly go.

Well hello there you!
I think we talked about my charrie Toby Cooper stumbling in, and then being convinced to stay by Padril. I should be tossing him into this thread soon so we can put that plan into action. Smile

The problem with the projector isn't really finances- the magic of hogwarts messes with muggle technology. It's possible to fiddle with older technology to make it work (like Colin Creevy's camera), which is how I justified Padril getting the projector going. Money would be super useful in getting new film though!

Do you need Romeo, a dark follower, to casually walk past at the end and see the club, laugh, then walk away?
