Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Amelia sat alone starring into the lake. She hadn’t talked to anyone. She had spent months in the same house as a Lance and barely spoke. Everything had changed. She felt like her whole world was crashing in around her. She had thought about sending a letter to Alex but never sent it. There was a lot of things she regretted. Like the fact she ran away or didn’t say I love you enough times.

Out of nowhere she started to sob. She wasn’t sure she could get through this year. Her mum had, she could do it. So had her Auntie Amelia. She had to be strong. But the tears keep coming. She supposed she had held it back for so long she just couldn’t stop. She pulled out a photograph her mum and her when she was around five years old. That smile. She missed that smile, everything about her mum she missed. She hated anyone who used the dark arts on purpose.

She looked down and wondered if her mum had ever felt like she did. She brought her knees up her chest and hugged them. She felt so lost. She debated dyeing her hair. She didn’t like her blond hair anymore. It was too happy.

Alex didn't know why, he just felt like the right place to be would be the lake. A lot of things ran through his mind. He'd lost a lot of people so far in his sixteen years of life. He and his sister were alright, they weren't mad at each other anymore. But that wouldn't bring his little brother back, and just thinking about that literally killed him. Then he'd lost Rhys, who had been a very dear friend to him. She was one of the people who would never get out of Alex's mind. He'd probably loved her, but she didn't return those feelings. She felt that for Alex's best friend, Sam. He actually ha no idea were Sam or Lysander were too.

As he walked down the lake he saw someone sitting by there, amazing blond hair and pale skin. As he looked closer, it was Amelia. Alex had sent her a letter during the summer, telling her the Alex wouldn't be going back to Hogwarts for his Sixth year, he'd instead be going to a Quidditch Academy. But alas, things had happened, if things started to look good, then he could leave Hogwarts after Christmas break. If not, he'd have to wait till summer again. As he walked towards her, he could see that she was sobbing. Which was rare, because Amelia was always happy. She hadn't even been sobbing that time they had to escape Knockturn Alley. As he walked towards her, he took out a tissue from a little tissue pack he had in his pocket and handed it to her. "Hey."

Amelia looked up when something white appeared in her vision. Alex. She didn’t take the tissue. She didn’t want it. She would rather drown in her own tears then take the tissue. It was childish but she was still so angry at him. She had gotten his letter two days before Uncle Neville showed up. Worst week of her life. There here he was and here she was. The last year had changed everything. She hated that.

The last time they had seen each other in person was not a good one. She remembered Lance fighting with Alex. She wondered if she had made the right call standing by Lance. She loved him but she wasn’t sure she could return the love Lance deserved. Where was Lance right now? She didn’t know. She wondered if she was losing him. She wondered if it wasn’t going to matter if she loved him or not. This new law could destroy them anyways because if she was forced to marry someone she wasn’t sure she could bring herself to cheat. She supposed who it was with.

((Sorry, I'm posting as Alex))

Alex didn't really care what Amelia had to say about it, he was going to make her take the tissue one way or the other. "Amelia. Take the dam tissue, now." He commanded, he wasn't like the other years. He didn't have patience with a person who wouldn't let themselves be helped. But since he considered her a dear friend, and he could finally admit to himself that he actually loved her, he was going to make the extra strength and do it.

But he did feel bad for her, she had lots of things going on. And she was with that Lance guy. Alex hoped to God that they wouldn't get married, he just wouldn't be able to deal with that without at least letting her know he loved her. "Don't worry, this won't be like the last time I comforted you... I actually love y- someone now. So yeah." He couldn't believe what he had said.

Amelia crossed her arms. She wasn’t taking the tissue. She was just doing it out of spite. “I don’t want the dam tissue,” she stated. She didn’t want that tissue. She didn’t need it. If she wanted she could get her own tissue from her own bag. “If I want one I will get one from my bag,” she said. She was being a smart ass but she just angry at Alex, she couldn’t help it. She was intelligent and was capable of using it when she wanted. Maybe living with Lance for a summer had rubbed off on her.

Amelia raised an eyebrow. Things had really changed that much. It was still the same Alex. “Sure….” she said. She wasn’t really convinced of what he said. She didn’t really trust what anyone said anymore. Love. Such a temperately thing. She wasn’t sure if it really existed anymore. As a kid she heard her father tell her mother that all the time then they got divorced. She looked in the pictures of her parents together when they were younger there was something she couldn’t place in their eyes but by the time she looked at the last picture they had they didn’t even look like they knew each other.

Alex knew there was no convincing her. He wondered why she was being so stubborn. But Alex hadn't actually been the easiest person on Amelia. He knelt next to her. "Fine, have it your way." He then took the tissue, and even though probably doing it against her will, he started wiping Amelia's tears off by softly. "A pretty girl shouldn't be crying now, should she?" He said. He knew she had gone through some stuff, he had done so also. But the past was in the past, and there is nothing they could do to change it, because time moved forward, never backwards. After he finished he, he sat next to her, laying down on the grass.

As he looked up to the overcast sky, he sighed. "How come you never answered my letter?" He said, obviously meaning the letter in which he told her that he wouldn't return for a sixth year. He took out his wand, and shot a tiny ball of light in the air, as it flew a bit far away, then discomposing in the middle of air, sending down little lights that looked like snow flakes, that disappeared once they came in contact with anything else.

Amelia cursed under her breath. She knew Alex meant well but it still annoyed her. She wasn’t sure if it honestly did annoy her or if she was still mad at Alex in general. She supposed it didn’t really matter. She couldn’t stay mad forever. It wasn’t in her nature. She wasn’t so sure about her nature anymore though. She barely knew who she was anymore. Sometimes things she was doing right now even surprised her.

“At first I was pissed at you and it wouldn’t have done either of us any good if I had written and then things changed. You didn’t need to be at the receiving end of that, I would have written eventually,” sighed Amelia. “But yet here you are,” she added. She was surprised the first time she saw him but didn’t say a word until now. She knew if there was anyone in this world that could relate to her it was Alex.

She wondered what he was thinking. She was sure she looked nothing like she had last year. Her hair was slowly turning brown. She didn’t like it. She wished she knew why it was changing colour. She wanted to stop it. She didn’t want brown hair. She didn’t want to look into a mirror and see her mother every day. She couldn’t do that right now. She knew it may just be grief and stress but she hated it.
