Trisha knew that her friend wasn't afraid of flying atop other things, but she couldn't really understand why brooms were any different. Provided you held on, there was no reason you should end up on the ground. Or that was Trisha's mindset anyways.

"Come on, you've got the Bates Boys here to catch you if you fall off." Trisha reminded her, though she was mostly joking. "Regardless, I doubt you'll let yourself even go very high. There is low risk of injury today."

Were Tris the one flying it would have been quite the opposite. Once she'd felt what it was like, there was no going back. The only thing they had to be careful of was to avoid going higher than the tree line, where Muggles could potentially see them.

Panic started setting in Raina’s mind. Brooms were the absolute bane of her existence. But for Tris, Raina would do anything.

“Okay Tris tell me what to do.” She choked out while reaching for the broom.

Raina had tried to forget everything about the first year broom lessons. She had managed to embarrass herself by giving her broom a little too much juice and had shot off like a rocket. Needless to say, she had fallen and landed in a very pokey bush. She also had a broken wrist as a souvenir. Brooms were not her friends and she could not reiterate enough how much she absolutely hated them.
