Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Head of Law Enforcement Missing Empty Head of Law Enforcement Missing

Post by Franklin O'Neil Tue Nov 27, 2012 11:46 am

Nemo Omara, the Head of the Department of Law Enforcement, is missing. He was spotted outside a muggle pub a month ago, but hasn't been seen since then. His disappearance could have something to do with the sickness, but most rumors suggest that it was, in fact, a kidnapping. So far, the Ministry's investigation into the matter has yielded no answers, and if it has, they have not disclosed any to the public. Knowing how concerned you all are about Mr. Omara's situation, we at the Daily Prophet decided to find the answers ourselves.

Now, the obvious place to start would be to talk to the people who knew Mr. Omara quite well. Typical for someone of his position, Nemo Omara seemed to have few friends. But we did get into contact with one; Jaquellene Dyllan.

Before I give details about the interview I would like to ask a question. Do you, dear readers, remember, back in the days, when achieving an Outstanding mark at Hogwarts was next to impossible? Well, that isn't the case now. Many, not particularly talented kids all graduate magna cum laude now due to a broken education system. (1) The product of this system is an egotistical, arrogant, yet lazy, generation, and Jacqueline Dyllan is a perfect example of it.

Ms Dyllan, owner of Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes and player for the Falmouth Falcons (who, by the way, remain near the bottom of the quidditch league), was invited by the Daily Prophet for an interview as a 'friend' of Nemo Omara. However, I regret to inform you that during the interview we didn't get much answers regarding Nemo Omara's disappearance. When asked whether the Head of Law Enforcement may of been kidnapped, Dyllan began attacking your humble reporter, and the Daily Prophet, instead.

However, as reserved as Dyllan was, she did give us some valuable information. First, it became clear to me during the interview that Ms Dyllan and Mr Omara were much more than just friends. Considering that, one wonders why Dyllan refused to give any details to help us in his investigation. Is there something that she does not want the public to know? Why else would she twice hint that the Death Eaters, a group that have not been active for over a year and have most likely been disbanded completely, were responsible? And while it is clear that the two were very close, I was rather alarmed by Ms Dyllan's apathetic reaction to his unfortunate disappearance.

But perhaps it is not so surprising after all. Dyllan was the head of the cult student group Potter's Army and is now a known member of the Order of Phoenix. In past articles, I have wrote about historic rivalry between the Order and the Ministry, in particular with the Department of Law Enforcement. Could it be possible that the order, upset at the recent success of the aurors, kidnapped Mr Omara in order to preserve their place as the sole police of the Wizarding World?

It is a dark thought indeed. However, while there is quite a lot of evidence for this theory, I recommend that you do not jump to conclusions just yet. For now, the only thing we know for certain is that the Ministry, and hence the Wizarding World, is clearly under threat from terrorists who have attacked diagon alley and kidnapped our head auror. My advice to you: Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst, and trust no one.

1. Muggle-borns have it easy now. To compensate for their lack of magical ability, Hogwarts gives them an unfairly easier grading curve, and thus they end up with marks they would not have got in the past. Jaquellene Dyllan is, of course, a muggle born.

She will be storming in there. For sure.

Perhaps, she and James can rant about Franklin over coffee and then go on an adventure... Jack does own a prank shop after all.

Haha! Let's wait to see what he writes about James first, though. If Falmouth Falcons being at the bottom of the league comes up again, IT'S ON!

I'm thinking a team bonding trip? After all, their team motto is 'Let us win, but if we cannot win, let us break a few heads.'
