And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Progress Empty Progress

Post by Jess Potter Mon Jan 23, 2012 11:30 am

Jess stood in a small courtyard, his travelling cloak wrapped tightly around his torso and a scarf covering his neck and mouth. The snow storm currently hitting the greater part of the British Isles was definitely, as the WWN described it, one of the worst storms in years.

The courtyard had just been cleared by him - some poor shopkeeper was going to wake up tomorrow and find that his wares had been moved from their storage space - creating an open space, large enough to fit more people in it than was necessary. With what was about to unfold, it was perfect.

He rubbed his hands together then turned to his co-conspirators. "Send the message," he shouted to Aaron, his voice barely rising against the wind as he instructed Mikaela's controller to lay out what was the next stage of a plan long in the making.

"And may god have mercy on our souls," He added, his voice not even audible to himself.

Ne'Os stood next to Jess invisible the only thing showing he was there was the snow ,that despite all the defensive spells he knew, still manage to make it through and stick to him. Underneath a warm black colored jacket he wore a black long sleeve shirt and pants. He wanted to make sure that he had all the movement necessary for combat and still enough to look fashionable. He became visible for a moment or two just to see his hands so he could brush the snow off of him. Winking at Jess he faded away again, wand in hand. Waiting. He couldn't help but wonder what they had gotten themselves into.

Cotton. The pink matter that had been Mikaela's mind was cotton. She was free from discomfort. No longer did her soul cry in agony for being denied a normal life like any other young woman. There were no pressures from her uncle. She had no undying loyalty to anyone or anything but the voice that gently told her how to live. This voice was everything. It was keeping her alive. She was sure of it. As long as she had the voice, she would be okay.

She was told to send the message, and she did. She knew Zada would be here soon, because she was protective of Mikaela. Not that Mikaela was anything to Zada. Zada no longer mattered, unless she mattered to the voice.

Jess fought back the urge to frown as Ne'os resumed his invisible state. It wasn't exactly a... dislike, that he felt towards his opposite number. Rather, it was a sense of unease, not distrust, it was past that point - generally trust needs to be involved in an equation for distrust to exist... but rather a feeling of what was, probably mutual, indifference.

He pulled himself from such thoughts and looked at Mikaela as their message was sent. It had been carefully worded, enough that Zada would arrive distracted, but not on guard. She would be eager for what could be perceived as an easy victory, but hopefully surprise her when it didn't quite go that way.

"Get ready," he muttered, more to himself than anyone else, but also to those around him.

Post by Zada Forbes D'Eath Fri Jan 27, 2012 1:12 pm

Zada was curled up in front of the fireplace in her unplottable apartment. She had clearly seen the signs that Grindlewald was struggling to stay in power. She had been exploring her options. Stay with him? Fight it out til the bitter end? Try to take over him herself? He'd certainly made enough of a mess of it that she thought she might do a better job of it if he were out of the way anyway. Or--just dash off to let him duke it out alone against whoever it was that might come? There were a great many options but very little time, she felt. She was sipping on Russian vodka. The house was blessedly silent tonight. So different from the noisy halls of Hogwarts. The only sounds she heard were the fire crackling and the silver chains around her neck making a slight rattle as they clattered together against her black sweater. She kicked off her black boots and straightened the cuff of her black jeans because she felt a draft. Wait..a draft? There shouldnt be a draft.

She turned and looked to see that there was an owl. She got up and went over and took the parchment from the owl and closed the window, allowing him to warm up and let the snow melt off his wings. It looked like Mikki's owl. Well, the one she used regularly anyway. She opened the parchment and read it. It was scrawled, like she was under some sort of duress. She was in trouble. She needed backup. Oh, damnit. Mikki prided herself on not needing help. On being able to handle things herself. It was what she had thought was going to endear her to Gellert so highly that Gellert would prefer Mikki above all others. She took the message over and picked up her glass and read the message again, considering. What the hell had she done? What was she into? And what was she asking Zada to walk into? Zada rarely ever went to Diagon Alley. Something niggled at the back of her brain. Something she didn't like, but she didn't know what.

She finished the rest of her vodka in one gulp and slipped her boots back on. She put out the fire in the white marble fireplace and rose to her feet. She picked up her full length fur coat. The lynx with the white fox trim. She put it on and donned a pair of black leather gloves. She picked up her wand and apparated to the location Mikki had specified in her parchment. She found herself standing, wand at the ready, nearly toe to toe with a number of other wizards. Some faces she knew. A face or two she didn't know. She began to instantly try to commit them to her memory for future use if necessary.

Her eyes narrowed. So, it was war, was it? If that was what they wanted, that was what they would get. She glanced at Mikki and saw a very unusually blank look on the girl's face. That sent off huge warning bells in Zada's head. Mikki was never that empty headed. Young, yes. Empty headed, no. And not ever when engaged in a contest. Not ever. Something was wrong. She took a self defensive stance, ready and able to kill the first person who moved.

Jess felt his whole body tense up as the soft 'pop' announcing their guests arrival sounded in the courtyard. Zada Forbes was here. This was the moment they'd been planning for, and he wasn't going to let the opportunity to capture her slip through his fingers.

Without moving he wordlessly cast the necessary charms to keep their encounter unnoticed and prevent Zada from leaving without physically making her way out. In doing so, he also removed any means of escape for he and his people. One way or another, only one party could emerge victorious from their playing field.

He looked Zada dead in the eye then raised his wand, casting a non-verbal disarming charm at her, followed incredibly closely by a stunner. There was no point, as far as he was concerned, in pausing for theatrics, or giving their opponent the time she needed to prepare herself, right now she was undoubtedly surprised to find herself surrounded by their forces. That surprise, he knew, would prove to be vital for the coming fight.

Ne'Os let himself become visible just as Jess fired off his stunning spell. Ne'Os by now had moved a few feet to his left as to avoid being hit. He raised his wand at Zada and non-verbally casted, Depello. He could feel the spell leave his wand the force of the spell pushed his arm back slightly he could only help it would distract Zada long enough for him to fade away again. Hoping his position wasn't given away he moved behind Jess to get to his right side not reappearing this time he raised his wand again and whispered "Conjunctivitus" knowing that the words would be lost in the wind even if he were to speak at a normal volume. The only thing that would give his position away to her now was a flash of light as he sent the spell at her.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spells casted:

Depello, A spell that pushes back several targets, perhaps tripping them or sending them flying. A stronger version of impedimenta, aimed at Zada.

Conjunctivitus, A curse that causes great pain to the victim's eyes, aimed at Zada.

The first spell struck her before she could react, and her wand flew from her hand. She knew enough to wandlessly raise a shield to protect herself before another shot could be fired. She felt the energies from multiple spells striking her shield simultaneously and felt some coming from..well, nowhere. There was no one there, or at least not visibly. Her eyes narrowed. Ambush. There was another wizard or witch here that somehow had invisibility working for them, either by a charm or some sort of artifact they had with them.

"Cowards!' she shouted at them. "It takes you this many to try to defeat me? Aren't any of you a man? Or are you all spineless little jellyfish? Potter! Grow enough bullocks to face me yourself. But if its war you want, then its war you shall get! Accio!" She accio'd her wand back to her hand and cast a fierce nonverbal sectumsempra in Potter's direction. She'd give him one chance before she cast a killing curse at him, but even that was risky. She was starting to believe she actually needed to just kill them all and be done with it.

((Nice evil rant there... highly unrealistic though, I must say. What're the chances of Jess really standing there and listening to that whilst you're wandless and pretty much defenceless? Razz
Nevertheless...))

Jess completely disregarded Zada's words, knowing they carried no more meaning than to distract him, keeping his attention away from the matter at hand for a mere few crucial seconds in which Forbes could strike him. He kept his eyes trained on her from the moment she regained her wand and recognised a moment before she attacked exactly what that look of concentration meant.

"Protego," he cast, blocking the spell with a flick of his wand, a note of surprise striking him as the green jet he had been expecting never arrived. "Confringo," he cast back, his wand angled down at the ground on which Zada stood.

Ne'Os had moved to stand next to Jess yet again while she went on her rant he figured with she and jess trading spells he wouldn't be noticed. He twirled it slowly around his fingers as he reappeared. "dark one" he said simply before raising the hand his wand wasn't in "Attonbitus" he said the words being drowned out by a loud clap of thunder as the dark lightning shot from the palm of his hand at Zada. He knew that being wandless magic was weaker this spell would have no chance of killing her but it could still hurt her.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lightning Bolt
Incantation: Attonbitus
Description: An offensive spell which sends a bolt of lightning towards the victim, severely injuring and perhaps killing the target. More powerful wizards can use this spell to hit multiple targets. Very hard to dodge.
Boundaries: None.
Restrictions: At least tier 5.

Aimed at Zada. Because the spell has been casted without a wand it will not be able to kill nor target multiple people.
