Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

The room was dim. By the time evening finally settled in, Hogwart's torches would ignite on their own. Their dancing, dark shadows would creep inside, and change the various equipment to monsters. Those monsters would torment him. They would mock him from the shadows and threaten him in their stillness. Behind the pianos and grandfather clocks, there were Death Eater waiting for him.

Sabriel shook his head. It was the fever. He was being irrational. He was safe despite the current condition Hogwarts found itself in. He would entertain himself here. Then, later, he would be tucked under his comforter and humming himself to sleep.

Despite his apprehension, Sabriel found the music class entirely vacant when he entered. He did not expect to be the only student to wind up there after skipping dinner. In fact, he did not know what he would do if he walked inside and came face-to-face with ten students, all gazing at him with the same eyes everyone else did.

The students would see a very girlish-looking boy with a reddened face. Long silver blonde hair with bangs that fell into his face. It managed to frame it gently. He would be flushed with fever and he would walk with a halting gait. A student would have to escort him to Madam Promfrey, and he would be thoroughly humiliated for the rest of his life.

But Sabriel was alone. Sabriel took a step forward and halted. The room wavered before his eyes. He was sweating. Not heavily, but he was sweating. He unbuttoned his robes. The cool air of autumn soothed him. He felt slightly better.

There was a window on the far side of the room. Sabriel stumbled over to it. Outside, it was raining. Father Zeus dropped an ocean from the sky, tearing through the earth and down to the underworld. Hades would not be pleased. As he stared, the image warped and simply became a cloud of gray. Sabriel blinked to clear his eyes. He had to find the piano.

The piano was grand. No, truly. It was a grand piano. It was lovely and polished, but wood. Sabriel sat down and began to play. The notes flowed crookedly at first, and jarred the unpleasant silence of the chamber. But as soon as he got his bearings, the only sound filling the room were sweet tunes, giving an air of summer.

Alice had a muffin in each hand, and the french horn she had found and fixed in the Room of Requirement was awkwardly shoved into her oversized bag. She walked slowly, so that the metal instrument taking up the space on her leather bag did not bounce too painfully against the back of her leg. She was careful, humming a tune happily, bobbing slightly, lost in a world of musical expectation.

She knew the route to the music room by heart, and she often left dinner early to ensure she would have time alone to compose or play or do whatever she pleased. She would go inside and eat her muffins, then continue to fiddle around with the brass instrument she had recently picked up. She had learned the fingerings and was on her way to getting better.

As she approached however, she heard the sounds of a piano. Her interest was drawn- she knew very few musicians resided within the castle's walls. Of the three she knew, she was the only one with any capabilities on the piano. She paused outside of the room, listening in, trying not to open it, but it gave beneath her pressure and it opened.

The door was quiet, though, and when it opened, the noise was inaudible beneath the sounds of the notes coming from the piano. She closed the door and leaned against it, watching the figure. Slowly, she approached the piano and the music ended, the last notes remaining in the air. "You're rather good," Alice said. "I thought I was the only pianist in Hogwarts." She paused, looking between the two muffins ing her hand. She put one on the piano. "Want a muffin?"
