Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Smoke on the Water Empty Smoke on the Water

The taste of copper lingered upon his tongue, and the overpowering aroma of burning plant life wafted through the afternoon air as a fire consume the field in which the he stood. Together, they created a combination that held nearly enough power over his senses to bring him to his knees.

But a far more demanding force held Nemo in its control as his crystal gaze picked through the tall grass before him. With a wand gripped firmly in his crumbled fist, and his knees bent with anticipation, Nemo’s eyes searched for the man with whom he shared that patch of land. The same man who was to blame for the droplet of blood that had crawled from Nemo’s parted lips and had proceeded down his jaw.

As the sound of the rustling of weeds rose above the crackling of fire, Nemo spun hastily towards its source. While in a “shoot first, ask questions later” state of mind, he flicked his wand, and from his mouth fell the hissed incantation: “Incendio.” The hex had been a product of both instinct and distraction; for as the flame that danced near Nemo made its mark upon his back, he could think of nothing other than the smoldering element.

Though Nemo believed that the hex would act as well as any other attack, he could do nothing to prevent the string of curse words that broke free from his throat when he allowed himself to become preoccupied. A mistake upon a mistake - one of which would likely reveal his location. He swore once more, and corrected his stance.

Set.

Smoke on the Water Empty Re: Smoke on the Water

A bit of sweat on his face and his lip quivering as it usually did when he was in situations like this one, Jake hid behind a tree looking at his opponent as he held his wand firmly in his hand. He was trying to calm down his breathing as he stood there, his heart beating quickly from the adrenaline that coursed through his body at this moment. It wasn't everyday that Jake got to do something like this, so he would at least try to enjoy something from it. Maybe the fact that he wasn't working today was enough to make him smile.

He looked over at the man that was in front of him unknowing that he was right behind him. Or at least that was what Jake thought. He was just about to cast a spell at him, when he stepped forward and he made some leaves rustle with his movement. He swore under his breath and before he could do anything else a hex was cast at him. He looked directly at the spell and smirked. Jake quickly moved his wand up and flicked his wand. "Protego." he said, and he sighed afterward. A little longer and he wouldn't have been able to defend himself from the attack.

"Averte Statura!" he exclaimed with another flick of his wand, and he ran from the place where he currently stood. He ran out into the open standing on the opposite side of Nemo. He was out of breath as he reached the new spot where he stood, and a small cough escaped his lips but still the smirk he wore never faded. He was definitely getting better at this, if he were still in school, he wouldn't have lasted this long. But seeing as he was still on his feet and he was still fighting, he was better than before...

Smoke on the Water Empty Re: Smoke on the Water

The rattling of Nemo's heart against its fleshy confines and the injections of adrenaline that continued to course through his veins with every inhalation of the smoke-ridden air could have easily gotten Nemo high. And with the addition the knowledge that the fire that he had given life to had little left to consume of that field, save himself and Collins, the thrill was, at the very least, intoxicating. His every sense had been set alight; live wires tangled within him, and explosives settled at his core. It had been far too long since his last hunt. The relief that he'd experienced upon once more finding himself in said dangerous position proved that to be so. But he needn't allow his excitement to overwhelm his instincts.

"Fck - piss - shit!!" Nemo shrieked and simultaneously lept backwards in a futile attempt to escape the approaching spell. The hex had entered his field of vision several seconds too late, and thus was successful in catching firm hold of Nemo's left shoulder and tearing it in the opposite direction. With the nauseating sound of a bone being torn free from its proper joint, Nemo's arm sustained a notable amount of damage. The injury would likely feel at home amongst the burns that ran along his spine, forming a highway across the skin upon his back.

Nemo took firm hold of the useless appendage and hissed, before extending his wand once more.
A cough. It was certainly something to go on. Nemo's eyes danced across the field, picking through the trees that lined the vast land in search of his opponent. Until, alas, he spotted a tuff of the very jet black hair that had earned Aladdin his nickname. Nemo grinned despite himself and the immense amount of pain he was in, and he spun on the spot, dissaperating.

With a thunderous crack, he rematerialized mere inches behind Collins'. Moving hastily so not to alert the man of his presence before he had effectively secured him, Nemo wrapped his functioning arm around Collins' throat and pulled him firmly against his chest. "You nearly tore my arm off," he informed his acquaintance in an incredulous tone.

OOC: I hope the godmodding isn't minded. I simply wanted to add to the chaos of the situation. =)
