Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

intensify the lockdown? Empty intensify the lockdown?

since classes arent' working and the lockdown doesn't seem to have made much of an impact ic, what about intensifying it b/c students arent' going to classes?

what about restricting all students to their houses with an age line around the doors and windows of their houses that forbids them from exiting their houses. then we would transfigure the dorm and common rooms to austiere cell like conditions. bare bunks w/ straw mattresses, no heat, no food, no water....except.....

except, if students agree to attend classes in the common rooms. then, while they are in class they would be given food and heat and water. if not, they have the choice to remain in inhumane conditions in their dorm rooms.

thats when we could perhaps serve breakfast w/ aromatic, tempting foods like eggs and bacon and cinnamon rolls, etc....to help "pursuade" them to attend classes. i think it might well add to the drama as well

the age line would allow teachers to enter and exit but prohibit students from exiting their houses.

thoughts?

Well, it'd have to be enforced by members, and it may have some effects on activity outside of the common rooms and classes, which is something we're aiming to promote, particularly with the relaxation of class guidelines.

There are aspects of this I agree with, such as the decrease in living standards, but I don't agree with it being only solved by going to classes, it works against what we're trying to do, and lets face it, whenever we try and use classes as a method things go belly up.

So I'd suggest that we just drop the living standards a bit but we do leave them as they are. Segregate the houses by saying in each common room that this is being caused by the other houses - hopefully people wont metagame in relation to it.

I think we'd have to choose what to do with this. Do we choose to continue with the relaxation of classroom guides or make them more compulsory. If we choose the former, do we include bits of this, such as the poor food and living conditions, into the scheme?

my thought is that somehow we decrease the quality of the living standards to increase not only the drama but also some of the action b/c that should, one would think, increase the character's desires to either reach out to their parents for liberation, or to find a way to escape or something. and that would allow grindys people to institute some stronger measures against them--to amp up the evil. something like that.

oh, and separate from that, we need some rebellious grads who would like to be wrongfully imprisoned in the detention center in azkaban. LOL

I think a decrease in standards would be nice.. Felix can come out from being the person trying to make himself look good, and can randomly take students out to 'get homework help' and they come back bruised and scarred... shock on their faces, unable to speak.. get the owl post section up... have people post with a staff member, who confiscates owls and sends back fake ones.. Less food, lights out earlier... no leaving the dorms after such and such a time... if you're caught.. well. Felix time XD

That would be fine in some cases, but we do need some of grindy's other followers to be seen as well. not just felix. grindy's supporters all need to be visible not only in hogwarts but also in the "grads section" of things, including grindlewald himself and he needs to be showing his true nature. if he is to be seen as evil, then we really need to see what his definition of evil is and how he carries that out.

I offer Jack to be sent to Askaban! But I'd like if she wasn't there for longer than a few weeks.

Mikki could make appearances as well. She'd be into forcing students to torture each other.
