Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Checking in Empty Checking in

Malowney had an umbrella over her head as she strolled through the wet rain and reached the hospital in time. She went to the receptionist's desk and said, "I need to be treated for..." What was the disease? She sighed and shrugged. "I can't remember what it is." The receptionist showed her into a room with a bed with an end table beside it, to its right. The curtain next to it was drawn and so Mal sat on the bed and just gazed at the plain-colored decór in the room. Her lace-trimmed leggings itched and she wished she'd never put them on.

Her eyes sparkled, wet with a few unstoppable tears, and she breathed carefully. As she exhaled she heard a few people talking, which made the tears come out even more. She pressed her back to the wood on the hospital bed and daydreamed. She imagined herself back at home crying into her breakfast. But in the hospital she wasn't hoping to strike up conversation. If there was any cure for these stupid visions she'd be there to do them.

She knew the healing spells from the spell book she was given when she joined the healing career a few months earlier. Malowney decided on which spells would do good. She hadn't mastered them and there were a few advanced spells in the book, but she was to leave them until she was more advanced in the career's current level. She sipped some of her water bottle she'd brought with her. The only water in the cups in the hospital were ones people spat blood into.

"Is a-anyone here?" she asked, her voice trembling. A few customers had been delivered somewhere else and she was alone in the room. Her curtain was drawn and she didn't see anything else apart from the plain white wall in front of her. Wet tears spilled from her eyes, making her eyes shine and sparkle. She hoped her healer would come soon and see to her. She didn't want to wait in a strange room by herself.

Leaila entered St. Mungo's, ready for another busy day of work. She didn't expect to be given something to do, so early in the day, but as soon as she walked in the young receptionist waved her over. Leaila walked over to her a bright smile on her face. "Ms. Saturo, there is a patient for you in the room down the hall." she told Leaila, handing her a file on the patient. Leaila stared at the file and blinked a couple of times before looking at the girl and nodding. "Thank you Ms. Vega." she said and she turned from the desk.

Looking over the file as she walked to the room, Leaila became confused. The patient didn't seem to know what she was suffering from, so how did she know she needed medical attention? Leaila entered the room, just as the last of the other patients were being taken out, and she walked over to the drawn curtain that held the patient behind it. She drew the curtain open and stared at the file, looking at the name. She lifted her head and stared at the girl. "Malowney?" she asked. "What brings you here, as a patient?" she added looking at the girl worried.

She knew Malowney to be a Healer as well and for her to be there meant something was wrong with her, that she couldn't cure on her own. She looked over the file again, and wondered if there was really anything wrong with her, that could be detected.

Malowney looked up. She noticed the healer had a worried expression on her face. "Um." Malowney suddenly went red. How could she describe her visions? They scared her...if she said them out loud they'd begin to feel real. "I'm having...some sort of vision...not only at nights...b-but at day as well..." She blinked the tears back in her eyes and then refused to meet Leaila's eyes. "I - I c-can't describe them...i-if I d-do they'll get r-real..." She stuttered the words helplessly.

She sounded weak but she felt weak too. Everything was in a blur, whizzing through her mind like planets orbiting the Sun at a way faster speed. She felt like Mercury. Closest to the Sun. But she felt as cold as Neptune and Pluto, but her heart was stormy like Uranus. She hoped she'd got that right. Even though she wasn't writing it down on paper and giving it to Leaila. She didn't want to say anything else.

Leaila bit down on her lip, and looked at the file on Malowney she was given. "Visions?" she asked , looking at her now. She stepped closer to Malowney and put her arm around Malwoney gently. This wasn't anything that Leaila had heard about before, and she really had no idea what to do. She racked her brain, trying to find something that would be of use here, but she hadn't ever learned about something like this, and she didn't think it was common, so she was at a loss here. "It's alright Malowney. You don't have to describe anything if you don't want." she said. Truth was it would help both of them, if Malowney described the vision, then maybe it would be easier for her to find a way to help her. But it was pretty obvious that Malowney was terrified of the visions, even to talk about them, and she wasn't going to for the girl.

"Why don't you lay down for a while?" she asked her, gently trying to pull the girl down onto the bed, trying to make her rest. Malwoney was weak that was clear to Leaila, and her health was deteriorated. Even in Leaila didn't know what was going on with her exactly, she could still try to help in someway. Maybe get her health back up. "I think it would be best if you stayed here for a while, Malowney." Leaila told the girl, giving her a warm smile. "You'll be better taken care of here." she added.

Malowney was still as Leaila put her arm around her. She didn't want to have the visions. She wanted them to go away. They scared her. And the voice in her head told her they were predicting the future. Somehow, Mal believed the voice. Even if it was just her. The visions had been unpleasant, too. Bloodthirsty fighters and wounded warriors dampened her spirits. She sighed and then lay down. She wasn't exhausted, but it felt good to be finally relaxing.

Then Leaila told her she'd better stay in the hospital. Mal's eyes almost popped. "Stay...here?" she asked weakly, not giving a sign of anger. "I mean..." She didn't mean. She had no idea what to say. "I left my front door unlocked," she said lamely. That was a lie. The keys were in her pockets and she'd locked it. But it was better telling a load of lies than being cared for in a hospital. She felt like she was in an old people's home. Anyway, she worked in there. If any other co-workers saw HER in the hospital beds, they'd fire her. And she needed the cash - but she was sure she could explain.
