What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Hey guys,
Do we want the Imperium Squad (IS) or prefects at the moment? If you choose the IS I'll work on getting them active, but you guys need to follow through, as we can do buggerall without members who're actively engaged in faction stuff. (An issue we're facing with the plot writing)

So, choose which one you want, and we'll announce the changes soon.. let's say on the first of December, unless a clear majority is made before then.

James, don't crow. Amelia is doing official duties for me right now.

In character, I just treat the imperium squad the same way as prefects. However, I'd like to see more official student representatives, as it would make my job way easier.

Mmm, no one seemed to want to be an IS member, so by my reckoning if we have prefects there pretty much has to be a bunch of them.

'sides, everyone wanted to be a prefect...

here's my 2 cents on this. IS pretty much locks a player into a rather predictable alignment and set of behaviors. however, the old system of prefects and heads does not predispose this. one would expect some alignment with their houses, but with slytherin, for example, there is no reason why the prefect and head could not also be IS members. I think it increases flexibility for play at Hogwarts. But that's just my "off the top of my head" thinking.

Personally, I just think house prefects helps create house rivalry. Say a prefect from Slytherin takes 5 points from a Gryffindor student. Then the Gryffindor prefects are going to be just waiting for a Slytherin to slip up. Or not. I've had prefects give points for things like "being in the right place at the right time" and "showing house pride" before.

Lol, I'm still the only person that cares enough to keep his position.

How would you select the Prefects exactly? Sorry, I haven't exactly been here that long, and when there were Prefects, I never bothered to ask.

Imperium Squad is so much cooler..

But they really have no point now that Vincents gone.

Prefects were usually the 2 students in each house who were the most active, selected at the beginning of the year.
