Spending time with the Family Empty Spending time with the Family

Post by Raphael Stravos Valentine Sat Jul 24, 2010 2:46 am

It was a early, cold afternoon -- Australia was in their winter season, July was it coldest month. Andrian walked into the airport of Australia, yawning, loudly as he dragged his luggage behind him. His stomach growled, hungrily as it had not had enough food on the trip to Australia. It was the longest trip he had ever been on, he never felt so hungry and tired before. So, he turned around to face his family whom he loved very much. "Well, here we are in Australia," he told them, smiling as he scratched the back of his neck with his index finger and yawned again. "I'm so tired," he laughed, stretching his body, tiredly and looked over to the food court. "Is anyone hungry, I could use a coffee" he asked everyone, the sound of coffee made him yawn again it reminded him of sleepiness.

He wore a black and white long, sleeved t-shirt with a picture of a bull on it with long blue jeans and his old pair of sneakers. along with sunglasses which he kept on his head so he didn't lose it.

Mariana was dragging her own black-coloured suitcase with her lugage yawning like never behind Andrian. Her handbag was on her shoulder and her long warm jacket was in her hands. "Jeez it's freezing here." she said shaking a bit before she put on her jacket that made her feel warm again. "Which city? I stopped following once we boarded 2nd plane in Brisbane." she asked not really paying attention though she could make a guess it was Sydney.

"I would prefer some hot chocolate and bed to be honest. I hardly managed to sleep for 20 minutes when we got closer to Singapour." she replied to Andrian's question yawning again with her hand on her mouth.

Post by Khaat Lupin Sun Jul 25, 2010 2:18 am

Khaat and Brian followed the rather sad looking lot through the airport. Khaat and Brian had travelled with merely backpacks. Khaat had packed the clothes they took in her backpack, and Brian had packed other things in his pack, including their wands. Khaat had shrunken their clothing to fashion doll sized, and she and Brian had convinced the security officials that they were toy makers and that the things in their backpacks were merely harmless toys for children.

In fact, they had spent the flight, reading, talking, drinking countless cups of coffee, and playing a very long, involved chess game on a miniaturized chess board. The pieces magically moved on their own, and Khaat and Brian explained it away saying the pieces were merely magnetic. A new prototype of toy. It seemed to work for anyone who caught a glimpse of it.

Aside from being a bit stiff and sore, they had weathered the trip rather well. They were hungry however. And they hadn't slept much the entire flight. A pillow would be welcome soon, followed by a run to exercise a bit, and then a hot shower and fresh clothes.

"Brian and I could use food and coffee both," Khaat said, drawing her new long black Italian leather coat closer and then shifting her leather backpack more onto her shoulder "What the heck time is it here?" she asked. She could tell by the light that it was afternoon, but her wizard watch seemed to be all confused. Poor thing. It just kept spinning backwards, its hands lighting someplace rather hopefully every so often. She would have to have a talk with it at some point and stop it from panicking. Some wizard clocks almost seemed to have a mind of their own and experience little panic attacks and seemed like it just raced ahead in sheer confusion. A good talking to would settle it right down usually. She shivered a bit. It felt so odd to be in cold weather in July. She had worn jeans, leather boots, and a cream colored V neck sweater. She felt Brian slip a protective arm around her waist.

Brian had chosen jeans, a denim shirt, boots, and a tan leather bomber jacket. He had a pair of dark aviator sunglasses in his pocket, and his own leather backpack thrown over his shoulder. It was the first trip to Australia for either of them. Brian had been to a good many countries, but Australia had not, for some reason, been one of them. They had packed a wizard camera and were anxious to take a lot of pictures for a photo album Khaat had started.

Lily tripped over her suitcase in a struggle to remain upright as she stiffled a yawn and gazed at Mari. "I'm with you on that one." She managed as she uprighted herself grabbing the handle of her suitcase handle. She was bursting with excitement about this holiday but she was a slave to her sleeping patterins and at that moment she was about to pass out from jet-lag. She was also shivering slightly feeling as though she should have brought her jacket on carry on luggage. Though it wasn't as cold as a English winter at least.

"I need something to pass out on stat. My poor tiny fragile body isn't use to remaining partially upright this long!" Lily mock whined before cracking a wide grin as she gazed at Andrian.

"Ello mate!" Andrew said in a really bad Austrailian accent that sounded British. Andrew seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, and pretty much did as he had apparated behind Andrian a second ago after the message he had sent on his phone. He put his hand on Andrians shoulder, to let him know that he was there if he had not heard him a second ago and said in an Austrailian "Well where is this barbie I heard so much about? Is it nice?"

He turned away from Andrian for a second and saw a couple of people. Mari he definitely knew, 2 people whom he recognised from the battle of Grimmauld place, and a girl, who looked suspiciously familiar. Probably nothing. "So, where are we off too on this fine winter day?"

Spending time with the Family Empty Re: Spending time with the Family

Post by Elijah Krum Sun Jul 25, 2010 11:50 am

Fauve bounded along in front of her father who was purposely trailing behind everyone else. She’d kept him awake for the majority of the trip and Elijah was at the point of exhaustion. He’d tried a bit of coffee but decided that he wasn’t a fan of it almost immediately and went back to flirting with the air hostess in an attempt to get her to give him something alcoholic. Fauve had been awake for the entire trip and Elijah couldn’t quite believe how she’d managed to keep conscious. He’d passed out after the air hostess walked away to find him something that would wake him up and as far as he knew the little girl was listening to music on the iPod he’d gotten her for Christmas. All in all, the Krum’s were at a contrast. The father was in a ghastly mood and looked as if he’d use the Cruciatus Curse on anyone that spoke to him where as the daughter was still doing the thing where she made people fall in love with her on sight.

He didn’t know why he’d picked Australia but at least he was with people he trusted not to run off with Fauve and let her get away with bloody murder. Well, Khaat probably would but hopefully she’d have a little bit of restraint even if it was only a little. But nethertheless, Australia seemed okay even if it was the middle of winter and people were walking around with trench coats, hats and gloves on while he merely had a pair of jeans and a thin cotton t-shirt on. Yeah, Elijah hadn’t really thought it all through. His mother obviously had though because Fauve was wearing one of those winter dress things. It was a poka-dot dress with white tights and a big cardigan. She also had matching hat, scarf and glove set. Elijah was also 99% sure that his mother had packed her enough coats to last someone their entire infant years if they stayed the same size. He did hope that the Krum Matriarch had thought about how stupid her son was and packed him some warm clothes also. He’d gotten coats and jumpers and stuff but the whole winter thing had gone right over the top of his head.

“Daddy come on!” The little girl said as she continued to bounce along ahead of her father who was playing pack-mule with their suitcases and numerous bags. Elijah rolled his eyes and picked up pace. He leaned down and scooped Fauve up with his free hand and put her up on top of the large backpack that he had on his back courtesy of – you guessed it – his mother. Elijah quickly caught up with the rest of the group but that had enabled his hair to escape from the fierce pony-tail he’d tied on the flight. He’d become sick of the stubborn hair and apparently it had become sick of him tying it back. It was now back where it was supposed to be – in his eyes. He heard someone speak and Elijah blew his hair out of his eyes so he could see who it was. A name didn’t come with the face but he had a feeling he knew who it was. The question he asked had a simple answer and Elijah knew what it was. “Bed,” He said, a yawn escaping his mouth for unintentional effect.

Jess was waiting at the airport with a large cardboard sign held above his head, watching as the flight arrive. The sign, of course, read Potter, and hopefully the whole party would see him. "Andrian, Mari, Khaat, Brian," he shouted, seeing four of the guests coming off the plane. "Come here," he shouted, glad they'd made it. As the neared him he lowered the sign and slapped andrian on the back. "hello," he said, glad they were all here, "Is this everyone?" he asked, gesturing to the four he knew, and noticed two others. "Eli?" he asked, "Is that you?" he said, looking at him, frowning then grinning. "It is, Hello. how are you?" he asked. "And Lilly, of course, how did i not recognise you," he said, laughing and smiling warmly at her. "Oh and Andrew, of course, i recognise you from Ireland," he said with a laugh. "Is this everyone?" he asked. "Because if this is everyone, we can head to my place," he told them.

One by one Mariana's friends were going through the airport maybe making a little jam though all she was aware of was Lily sitting next to her ever since they boarded their 2nd plane in Brisbane. "Thank you." she muttered sleepy to her while she was still looking around. Andrew and Eli were both there. "Oh hello Andrew hey Eli were you with us on the plane all along or you boarded at one of the stations?" she asked yawning only now noticing they were actually there.

A voice called out for them on the airport. Mariana did not pay attention untill he called for her name between others. "Why is he so cheerful so early in the morning.." she wondered for herself as she dragged her suitcase and her backpack over to him. She was still under the impression it was some early morning hours. "Hi Jess. How can you yell at 3 o'clock in the morning?" she asked looking over to her broken watch that was showing 3 AM while she yawned.

If Elijah could have chosen to kill someone right then and there then it would have been Jess. He didn’t understand how the man was so damn happy. Maybe he was of the same breed as Fauve – the ones that didn’t need sleep to be wide awake. He didn’t exactly want to kill Jess but hit him a few times with one of the bags he had. Elijah watched unconcernedly as Fauve jumped down and bounced around his legs like some sort of excited puppy. He sighed and put his hand on her head. He swivelled her around and gripped the back of her dress so she wouldn’t wander off. “I’m fine.” He deadpanned. “I won’t be though if I don’t find a mattress, pillow and a blanket within the next half an hour.” Elijah looked down at Mari when she addressed him and he smiled ruefully before admitting, “No idea, I’ve lost track.” He smiled again but ended up yawning as a result.

Elijah heard Fauve laugh beside him and he gently tugged on one of her pigtails. She scowled at him and held onto her hair for fear of it being pulled again by her ‘mean’ daddy. “It’s 3am?” Eli whined, not quite believing what Mari was saying. “Please say your clock is wrong...”

Andrew looked back to where he heard the voice of a little girl, and a man who sounded rather fatigued. Once he did, he could not recognise the two people and blinked a couple of times. He would wait to get aquanited with the man, as he looked like he would stab someone in the neck, to get to a bed. "Is it really 3?" he asked, not getting used to the time changes from New York. Just 10 minutes ago, Andrew had woken up and gotten himself dressed for Austrailia. Now everyone was heading to sleep.

"Well we should probably head off for the hotel," he said then rasied an eyebrow "if we are getting a hotel that is. Also, why do you guys take planes? Why don't you just use a portkey or apparation? It saves a lot of time y'know." That had always been a question that surfuced in his mind. He swore that he would never use another plane, after what had happened when he travelled to Ireland. 6 hours of pure baby crying hell. He shuddered at the thought.
