Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Class Six - N.E.W.T. Empty Class Six - N.E.W.T.

Post by William Winston McCoy Tue Mar 30, 2010 10:06 pm

Another day, another class. Professor McCoy had replaced professor Emof, who had work in the Ministry, not a long time ago. He liked teaching, especially Transfiguration. He had done some teaching jobs before, but Transfiguration was always his favorite. He wrote his name on the blackboard and sat on his desk, waiting for the students to arrive. He also waved his hand and wrote the title of today's lesson - Exam.

Mariana walked into the classroom carrying her half-empty backpack. "Morning Professor." she said as she looked onto the title of today's class raising an eyebrow. She did know about it though she forgat like she forgat most of the things these days. "I am so getting a bad grade." she muttered for herself hoping that something still stayed in her head from the last class.

Subastian walked into the classroom and sat down in the seat he always sat in. He took out his parchment and quill as he waited to start the exam hoping that he wouldn't fail at all. He knew that he did an ok job the last time he was in the class.

Dora walked into class, wondering why of all days she chose to come on an exam day. No, the Thestrals could wait she had told herself. They’d do without me for a day. Bullcrap. She wished she’d chosen to spend the day wandering the forest again; it would have been more fun than dealing with a test. Plus, she doubted she was getting decent class grades as it was. She honestly wondered what was so important about learning how to transfigure a pillow into some kind of animate object. She honestly didn’t get it but she chose not to mention how much she despised the subject. She then wondered what had made her take Alchemy instead of Care of Magical Creatures. It was probably so she could keep her ability to herself. She knew of a few other students who could do what she could do but she wanted to think that hers was more specific. She doubted it highly though, why should it be when a few others had the same ability? Dora sat down beside Subastian and threw him a look that hopefully translated to: Put a bag over my head and seal the bottom together. Don’t worry about the holes. She was going to fail, no doubt about it. She was a Ravenclaw as well. No doubt she was letting her father down. Sighing, Dora crossed her arms on the desk and rested her chin on her forearms. Her new found optimism was quickly depleting in the wake of the test. After lunch when she was full she’d no doubt be happy again but right now she’d rather chew her own toes off than do an exam. She just wasn’t prepared.

Class Six - N.E.W.T. Empty Re: Class Six - N.E.W.T.

Post by Alester Thoth Crowley Thu Apr 01, 2010 2:52 am

Alester slipped into the classroom with a bit of intrepidation as he fully recalled the announcement of an exam today. How was he expected to pass when he had only been to one class!? He was a nervous exan taker anyway, and today was certain to prove just what a foolish idea it had been for the ministry to expect him to pass their exams here at Hogwarts, coming here so late in the year was a joke in his opinion.

He slid into the nearest chair and flumped into the seat with his head on the desk. His bag slid to the floor with a barely audible thud-- or that could havebeen his head hitting the desk he wasn't really cognicient where the sound came from beyond that he had made it. He awaited further instruction with chagrin and restlessness to just have it over with.

Class Six - N.E.W.T. Empty Re: Class Six - N.E.W.T.

''Not sufficient, but it will do. Now, as you have been informed, today is exam day and I will test your practical knowledge of the spells that we have practiced during these last few classes, meaning - Non-verbal transfiguration. Now, the test will be done in the form of an obstacle course.'', he said, pulling his wand out.

He re-arranged the desks and chairs (which means that the lost had stood up, which means that I have godmodded a little) and conjured a rather complex ''machine'' consisting of a lot of tubes. The first tube was simple and completely normal. That tube was connected to an aquarium. The next tube, which followed, was filled with mud, while the fourth one was pretty wide and filled with wood. The last tube was vertical and it lead into a small bird cage.

''Now, your task is following. You will take your quills and put them into the first tube. Then, you will non-verbally transfigure the quill into an animal that can easily pass through the first tube. But, in order to control it, you will have to use the Imperius curse, which I know you have done with professor Wilson. When you reach the end of the first tube, you see water. You have to, non-verbally again, transfigure your first animal into another animal that can survive underwater. A frog, fish, water snake... whatever you like. Third tube will either call for a bug that can dig through it or for a mole, which means a mammal. The last one is filled with wood. A beaver would be sufficient, but you can be imaginative and create another animal, a spider or a snake, that can pass through these pieces of wood. And finally, a vertical tube. I think you know what do wo with it. Now... Miss Diggory, would you be so kind and give a try.'', he said, with a smile.

(NOTE: You have less than 24 hours to reply, not just Mariana, but all of you who have decided to take this exam. I just cannot wait that long. When I call you out, you have less than 24 hours to post. Those who do no show up will get a big red T for their classwork.)

Class Six - N.E.W.T. Empty Re: Class Six - N.E.W.T.

Post by Mariana Diggory Mon Apr 05, 2010 10:13 pm

Mariana walked around listening to what McCoy was saying trying to memorize every word he was saying for when it would be her turn. It seemed simple explained like that, but complicated in realitty. Suddenly someone called out her name. "Me? You've got to be kidding me.." she muttered under her breath as she digged out for her wand that was in the inside pocket of her robes. This won't end well.. she thought for herself before she walked close enough to tubes carrying her quil along.

Why her? Mariana raised her wand concetrating on the quil she had put in the first tube a moment ago. She knew there was no time to be wasted on getting her concetration like on the last class. The first thing it turned into was an eagle. An eagle? Okay that wasn't excatly what i had in mind.. she thought though decided to keep that thought for herself using non-verbal magic again to gain control over her eagle. It flew right through the tube and before it reached the aquarium it turned into a crab. "Not good. I wanted a fish.." she thought again keeping her wand streight and without moving as it moved through the water and reached the wood it turned into a beaver. At least one planned move. Beaver started going through the wood like a hungry termite reaching the vertical tube. She crouched so she would know what she was doing. And suddenly her eagle flew out of the vertical tube in a great speed hitting the ceiling with a great force. "Uhhh sorry about that...Clumsy me.." she apologised to the eagle before it transformed back into her feather and she made it fly into her hand. That was weird. I am so screwed.. she thought for herself.

McCoy laughed as he looked Mariana performing her task. ''Good, Mariana, good. It was not perfect, but in due time, you will be able to pass this subject with an brilliant grade. I think you know your mistakes, but for the rest of you to hear. First of all, your transfigurations were good, the ones that were successful, of course. You could have chosen a smaller animal, instead of an eagle for the first tube, but that is not a mistake. A crab was an unusual choice, but still acceptable. You skipped the mole, but never mind that now. The beaver was good. And it was the most difficult of the mall. And finally, your control made the poor bird hit itself. But, it all made me laugh. All in all, 40 points for Hufflepuff and an E for you. Now, who shall do it next?'', he asked.

(NOTE: The next one only has to step up and do his task. You do not have to raise your hand and wait for my approval. You have about 12 hours +/- 2/3. If no one does his task, Poe will do it and then you will have a few more hours. If not, I will have to fail you all. Sorry for that, but you have been notified)

Mariana would laugh if it didn't look to embarassing to her. Her way of performing McCoy's spell always finished up in some unusual mode. "Told you i suck at this subject Professor. And i wanted a dove, but for some reason an eagle was flying in my head. And i wanted a fish, but again for some reason i imagined a crab. The mole? Must have not remembered..Well i didn't see well what i was doing though E is like a miracle to me." she said sitting back in her chair to cool down a bit. At least she got 40 points for her house which was a success and a not expected grade though it would be ridiculus to complain about it.
