Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Staff Meeting with the Director Empty Staff Meeting with the Director

Post by Khaat Lupin Mon Mar 01, 2010 11:28 am

Khaat had had an assistant make the large conference room ready with a breakfast buffet that held nearly every breakfast dish imaginable. She had placed her notes at the head of the conference table and had made she her father had his proper place to her right. She noticed he had also gotten a notepad and a pen and had put it at his place as well. She watched him briefly as he made a large pot of his cinnamon herb tea. One of Khaat's favorite blends. "I hope we can make all this right, Daddy," she sighed.

"Don't worry, Khaat," He smiled back at her. "You're a fine director. You've brought this hospital a long way in a very short time. You deserve their respect. And they deserve your honesty about Jack. And they deserve to know you care about them and how they may cope with the battle wounds that are, undoubtedly, coming. Just be yourself." He stood behind her and kneeded her tense shoulders a bit. "Come on, Khaat. You've got more confidence than this. How about I spoil you just a wee bit with a cup of french roast?" He had anticipated the look of surprise that she gave him, and he went over and got her a cup of the rich, strong black coffee that she so deeply loved.

"Good morning, Mr. Salvatore," Khaat smiled, "Thank you so very much for coming on such short notice. I am sorry we have not met before this. I'm Khaat Dent. I'm glad you're here. Please--help yourself to the breakfast buffet. The plates are to your left at the beginning of the buffet table. We will begin when everyone has arrived and has gotten their plates And I believe you've already met my father, Robert Lupin."

"Good to see you again, Mr. Salvatore," Robert smiled. "I hope we get to work together soon. I'm looking forward to it. I am really glad to see Khaat has a staff of such dedicated healers on board. St. Mungos has needed that and a lot of young people who are interested in healing for a very long time. "

Ian nodded, "It's a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Dent, and as for a short notice, it wasn't that short." Ian walked over to the table and poured himself a glass of orange juice, he wasn't hungry, plus nothing looked good. Ian nodded and extended his right hand, "It's good to see you again Mr. Lupin." Ian smiled, "Please, both of you call me Ian, Mr. Salvatore isn't fitting.." Ian laughed gently, "Do you know what Salvatore mean? It's Savior, so as I say it's not very fitting."

Robert shook hands with Ian. "Please--call me Robert. All my friends do," Robert smiled warmly. "And, actually, Salavtore might indeed be a very fitting name for a healer. You could well be the person who makes the difference between life and death for some of these folks here. Sounds to me like you are in the perfect place. " Robert glanced over at Khaat who was taking a moment to look out the window and take a sip of her french roast coffee. "Oh, and so you know, she is much, much more comfortable if you just call her Khaat. She and I are both pretty informal."

"It's a pleasure to meet you Robert and Khaat. And like I said, Salvatore isn't fitting, I may have saved lives before, but its still not fitting." Ian took a drink of his orange juice, "So, Mr.....Uh, Robert....What made you decide to take a career in Medicine?" He noticed that Khaat was staring out the window, so he had directed the question to him.

"Me?" Well, there isn't a lot to tell. My brother Remus was a lot like Khaat. Always had the need to be adventuring. And, just like Khaat, he never seened to have to go looking for trouble because it always seemed to be looking for him. He could get into some scrape or bump doing the most perfectly innocent thing. I think Khaat somehow inherited that from him somehow, though I'm not sure how. Anyway. I found I excelled at Potions class at Hogwarts and soon was making healing potions for my brother. And somewhere I found I had the knack for healing. And I truly enjoyed seeing others in less pain and distress. It seemed somehow a lot more worthwhile than my brother's swashbuckling sorts of hobbies and preferences. I can fight if I have to, but I would certainly much more prefer healing than hurting someone else. And how about you, Ian? What got you interested in healing?"

Ian nodded, "Very interesting. For me it was quite the opposite, I did very poorly in potions, one of my worst subjects as a matter of fact. It wasn't until my travels that I fell in love with healing, I had been taught by a very old and wise African Medicine man." Ian shrugged, "I guess you can say it was hid doing, because until then I had no interest in any type of healing."
