Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Quidditch Rules Empty Quidditch Rules

Post by Matthew Lestrange Wed Jan 13, 2010 1:33 am

I'm sure you all know the quidditch rules of Harry Potter. These are the rules of quidditch in PA - also this describes how quidditch matches will run. It all doesnt really make sense but should run Ok. =D

Players will RP through the whole match, Make your posts at least 3 lines. 1 liners will definitely not do here.

CHASERS
The chasers are supposed to take the quaffle and try to get it in to the opponents goal post. Every post they do, they have to pass the quaffle to another chaser. Another chaser on the same team should then RP catching the quaffle, or the chasers from the other team will take the quaffle. After 3 successful passes, chasers are allowed to try scoring.

KEEPERS and SCORING
If a chaser tries to score, the keeper has a chance of blocking it if he/she posts within 12hours. The keeper can then pass it to a chaser. If the keeper fails to block it, its 50 points (not 10) to the other team. Keepers cannot block 3 times in a row, the third time, its automatically a goal.

BEATERS and BLUDGERS
Beaters have to RP about hitting the bludgers towards the chasers, keeper or the seeker. If the chaser fails to reply within 12 hours, he/she loses the quaffle. If its hit to the seeker, the seeker loses sight of the snitch immediately. If its hit towards a keeper, the keeper cannot defend the next goal for a 3 hour period.

SEEKERS and THE SNITCH
The snitch is controlled by the coach. He/She will announce when he sees the snitch and both seekers have to RP chasing the snitch. They have to post twice before they can catch the snitch. You must wait 2 hours before each post. Catching the snitch means 150 points. If a beater aims a bludger at the seeker at this point then that seeker cannot get the snitch in his next post.

SUBSTITUTES
If a player is inactive at the start of the match, the substitutes will come in for them. They cannot join the match after.

THE COACH and COMMENTATOR
Mordecai will also call out any fouls or mistakes. You MUST obey him. And no arguements either. Keith Nicholas meanwhile will be commentating the match.

THE CROWD
You can support your house or other houses in the crowd but cannot go in the field or anything like that which interrupts the match. This will result in points from your house.

Thats it for the rules. Disobey them or not follow them correctly during the match and it will be considered a foul and therefore a penalty.
