Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Subastian walked down to the lake trying to let quietness of the lake to calm him. He had been through a lot and now was his time to relax and not have to worry about going werewolf. He got to the lake and cleared off a place to sit, he gathered twigs and started a fire to keep himself warm as he sat there.

Nostalgia. It was a funny word but something that described Amadora’s emotions almost perfectly. The homesickness and the insomnia paired up made for a good form of self-torture and entertained the young Ravenclaw in some sort of sadistic way. She seemed to be perfection in every way. She got good grades and as far as anyone knew - had a good family. She was always dressed immaculately and was never late. It was if an angel fell from the sky and landed in the lap of the Headmaster. However, one half of the book is useless if you don’t have the other.

She was the other half of the story, the one that was wandering the grounds with her head in the clouds. With scars that twisted around her body and marred every available piece of skin she looked like a Christmas tree that had been smothered with tinsel. Her long red hair was sat around her shoulders and her eyes were dim, devoid of the light that usually rose to someone’s eyes when they smiled. Dora felt as if she’d lost all use. Long ago, what was she? Sixteen? So six years of her life had been wasted. Yeah that sounded about right.

The chill was getting to her skin now and it seemed as if the temperature had dropped a few degrees. Dora wrapped her scarred arms around herself and looked around. A little way away she could see the red of a fire and could hear it crackle as it absorbed the wood. She smiled a bit to herself and decided to go over and join whoever was sat there. Dora reached in her pocket for her wand, expecting it to be there but cursed loudly when she discovered its absence.

It’s not like they’re going to eat you. Her subconscious reminded her. It wasn’t helping one bit if she was honest. So what if there would be no cannibalism? Who ever it was would be seriously grossed out. She sighed and wrapped her arms back around herself. She was getting very cold now and it was almost the same temperature in her home in Spinner’s End. She should have been used to it but obviously wasn’t.

Finally, Dora sucked up the courage to walk over there. She noticed it was a boy that who had made the fire and she made sure her face wasn’t illuminated by the glow of the flames. Dora swallowed and bit her lip. Her mouth was dry which didn’t help her but she some how managed to get her voice back. “Do you mind if I sit with you?” there, a simple question. Easy.

Subastian looked up and said, "No not at all." He gestured to the a spot near the fire but a little ways away from him. He leaned back against a tree sighing softly as he managed to stay warm, He stared at her his eyes seeing her scars knowing what they were from. He clenched his fist then looked away hoping she wouldn't notice that he clenched his fist in anger. He wasn't angry with only with what he was and that she was hurt by someone like him.

“Thanks.” Dora smiled a little and sat down on the grass where the boy had gestured. She held her hands out in front of the flames, letting them soak in the warmth. She wished she’d brought a coat with her but she hadn’t planned on staying out as long as she had. She’d gone to see the Thestrals and then got carried away. She hadn’t seen them in a while, since she’d encountered that Vampire, and wondered where they had gone. But they soon came to her when she called for them. Dora did wish though that she had spent more time with them or at least gone earlier. She looked over at the boy and smiled a little at him. Her eyes fell on his hands and saw his whitened knuckles. She scooted closer to him and put a hand on top of his own, slowly easing it open. “Relax.” she said with a half smile.

Subastian laughed softly and said, "That's easier said than done." He began calming himself his eyes closed allowing her to ease his hand open. "I don't mean to be rude. My names Subastian Haversham." He said opening his eyes and smiled softly at her.

Dora raised an amused eyebrow and nodded thoughtfully. She knew what he meant but she did things without hesitance, especially if she knew that it was the right thing to do. In this case perhaps she was a bit too forward but he didn't seem to mind too much. It seemed that the fire wasn’t the only warmth on the grass that surrounded that large expanse of water. “No, perhaps its not.” she shrugged. “So don’t say it, just do it.”

It must have been an odd scene. The first would probably have been the fact that there was a girl at Hogwarts that damn scarred but the fact that they were at the hand of a werewolf didn’t make it much better but she didn’t hate them at all. She still found the creatures completely mesmerising and unfortunately over the years all manner of creatures had added to the wonderful sloping, deep gashes which had healed into trench type bunkers.

She smiled a bit when he introduced himself and she nodded. Of course she already knew who he was but it wasn’t something she was going to say. It definitely wasn’t something that was said often in normal conversation. Then again, what was normal conversation? She had no friends, she was sixteen and hadn’t entered a romantic relationship before (for obvious reasons) and she lived in a house as cold as the road it was built on so she really had lots in common with her peers. Charming.

“I’m Dora.” she said, taking her hands away from his own. “Err, Amadora… Lunel.”

"It's nice to meet you Dora." He looked at the scars and loooked down, "A monster who did that to you doesn't deserve to live. Monster's like that don't take wolfsbane and they are the ones to make sure that they are close to someone so that they can do that when the moon is full. It's disgusting, but there are other werewolves that are different they take wolfsbane to keep from being monsters." Subastian sighed then realized that him knowing that would make her get scared and scoot away from him, but he was used to that by now.

Dora smiled a little and settled herself down on the grass, brushing off some mud that had gotten on her jeans after playing with the Thestrals. She enjoyed being around them. They were very much alike - both being outcasts. She wouldn't say she was feared because that would be a lie but no one would want to associate her. Not if they came in contact with her when her glamour charms weren't working. She had a constant barrier of magic on but as of late it seemed that something was going on and weakening the walls. "It's very nice to meet you to Subastian." Dora said happily.

She looked down at her hands and sighed. They were marred, just like her face and nigh on every other part of her body. She knew she wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for her father and even if her mother went out there to see what was going on, Dora knew that the wolf wouldn't have dropped her and gone after her mother. The wolf didn't like French Trash like Dora's mother. "It was an accident." she said quietly. "My papa erm, killed the wolf I suppose. There was no way to stop him but after I came to again my papa explained exactly what happened. The man hadn't been quick enough. He hadn't drunk all the wolfsbane in time so when the moon rose the wolf was being able to fight the potion. I was stupid but I knew nothing about werewolves or vampires. He was acting on instinct. The man didn't want to hurt me and I knew that. The wolf didn't either but it seemed neither of them had control. I have never blamed anything on that wolf or werewolves in general.

You can't help instinct. It's what comes natural but I doubt very highly that the Wolfsbane was brewed correctly anyway.” she sighed once more and wondered why she was telling him this. She hadn’t told anyone - ever. So what had changed? “Not even the wolf was in control. But these are just theories. I cannot help but think that someone wanted both wolf and human out of control. I just wish I could have apologized for what happened. It wasn’t his fault.”

Dora tore at a few blades of grass, she needed to do something with her hands. She’d been angry at herself since the day it happened and despite it all, despite her mother and sibling’s teasing her - telling her she should have died or became one of them, she had never felt a hint of regret. She knew what had happened shaped her as a person but it had also ended the life of an innocent. It was yet another reason why she couldn’t stand the scars. Apart from the fact that she was afraid of what people would think of her, she knew that those were done in the final moments of both wolf and human who had no idea what they were doing.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have assumed. Those of us who can control ourselves are lucky to be able to. But sometimes not even we can control it but it comes with great difficulty to be able to control it. We sometimes have to take the potion for the moon comes out that way it is in our system that way the wolf can not fight it and we are able to control ourselves." Subastian said throwing more sticks on the fire to keep it going.

"It doesn't matter." Dora shrugged. "It is obvious what happened and why I have these scars but it has always bothered me that there was this one person who was as unfortunate as he. I've never actually had a problem with werewolves during the Full Moon since then. As odd as it is I still go out then despite the fact that I should know better. I think I've got his scent on me still. Ten years and goodness only knows how many baths and showers and the wolves can still smell it. I don't know why but I have yet to ask one during the Full Moon." she admitted. "I just tend to forget and focus on keeping them happy. Plus, I'm having issues with finding the exact dialect. There is only so much howling I can do." she laughed a little and threw a small stick into the flames.

"I know most people with the affliction hate the wolf but they're really not bad. More like overly large puppies once they get a more affectionate. The only problem I have is I tend to be in the way when they sit down. I think there is one that always goes to the woods in Spinner's End when he knows I'm there during the summer. I seem to be forever getting sat on. It's not great but I suppose it must be quite humorous for them. I think it has gotten to the point though where he does it on purpous just to spite me." she did often find herself on the floor when she was at home. It made her laugh and she knew, as well as the wolf did, that he was teasing her.
