What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

The Yule Ball - Page 11 Empty Re: The Yule Ball

Post by Andrew Thompson Tue Dec 22, 2009 5:18 pm

Danny had a pretty bad history- past and present. It may have been because of Dannys ignorance towards certain authority in this school. Most of the staff would rather watch children get totured then help them. So then there he was. Danny had just stood there waiting for this guy to give his speech or whatever. Hopefully it would be given soon so he didn't waste his life just standing.

Christy took a deep breath and decided she would see what the headmaster would have to say, "You wanted to see us Headmaster?" she asked curiously as she waited for him to speak. She wondered if they were all in some sort of trouble but she highly doubted it as the ball had just begun, though with the headmaster you could honestly never tell.

"Yes Shack your majesty," he said taking a mock bow at him "we only live to serve and cut your fingernails." He only did that just for the heck of it. Detention was worth it at this point and he didn't care.

The Yule Ball - Page 11 Blackandredgown

Anastasia walked into the Yule Ball wearing a black and red spaggtie straped dress. Her hair was up in a old fashion style from the middle ages. She looked around the ball nervously as several people near her looked at her. She payed them no attention as she walked past them looking for Danny in the crowd of people.

The Yule Ball - Page 11 Empty Re: The Yule Ball

Post by Elijah Krum Tue Dec 22, 2009 9:40 pm

Elijah was completely incoherent to anyone but Amelia - or at least it seemed that way. He knew Nachash had been hissing at him for a while but he was walking on clouds and couldn’t quite grasp exactly why he was feeling that way. He’d kissed her so what was the big deal? It wasn’t as if he was new to it but he felt as if he had just found new land or something to that effect. It was the sense of discovery and adventure which was swelling inside of him as well as something else which he wasn’t quite sure how to identify.

It was if something was completely engulfing him making any other emotion completely pointless seeing as one made all of them pale in comparison. Whatever it was, was directed at Amelia and he knew it wasn’t a negative emotion. No way. Elijah just couldn’t figure it out. Possibly due to the fact that he’d never been shown it so he couldn’t recognise an emotion found keeping the hearts of people all around the world beating.

He didn’t know what it was but what he was positive of was that woman could get anything she wanted from him. She was truly a witch, one that had him under her power. Elijah, of course, wasn’t complaining what so ever. He was relishing in it.

Perhaps he’d spent too much time in the dungeons because he did agree with Amelia. The Hall was becoming warm and it was beginning to irritate the wayward Slytherin who usually had less formal clothes on or depending on where he was he didn‘t have much else on apart from some trousers. Heck, he lost most of his uniform throughout the school day so he didn’t know, sat in his dorm, how he was going to contend with a shirt and tie.

However, that went quite well until he’d lost it on his way up from the dungeons. Another reason why he was perfectly happy in a pair of jeans and a hooded jumper tied around his waist for when it got a little chilly.

But now back onto the point once more. Elijah got to his feet and gently pulled Amelia out of her chair. He smiled down at the Ravenclaw and couldn’t help but smirk a little at her. Eli pressed a soft, loving kiss on her lips once more before muttering his goodbyes to Julia and leading Amelia out onto the balcony.

The air outside was cool and refreshing like a cool shower after a sweaty night in hot parts of the world. There was a slight breeze but not enough to make him or Amelia cold. Nether the less Eli wrapped his arms around Amelia’s waist and pulled her closer to him. She’d still get the cool breeze that would run over her but she’d have the warmth behind her. If that made any sense what so ever.

But there was trouble brewing. Elijah could feel it under his skin and he didn’t like that nagging feeling that something bad was going to happen. Nachash knew it to and he could feel her becoming skittish. There was something in that breeze that told the both of them that Hogwarts was most definitely not the safest place in the world anymore.

For the first time in his life, Elijah found himself wishing to be in his parents’ presence. The reassurance from his father would sooth him and the screams of bloody murder from his mother would make him laugh. As much as he hated the both of them he loved them equally.

His father with his brooms which always seemed to come at Christmas, Birthdays and any other time of the year drove Elijah insane but the sketch books and oil paints made up for it. The man was always looking for acceptance in his son and he was finally starting to gain a little bit - even if he wasn’t aware of the fact.

His mother was the craziest woman he’d ever come across and he’d met many. Despite being a banshee she loved her kids in a weird sort of way. Sure she hated Eli with a passion but it was that mutual hatred between them that made it into some strange sort of love. The flaming banshee was insufferable but he loved her anyway. It was just the way it went.

It was that, that he yearned for, for those few meagre seconds until Nachash reminded him that he shouldn't be wistful. He had a chance. One that was hanging by a thing bit of thread and it was a chance he was going to take full advantage of and hope to keep. He wasn’t going to sit back and wait for things to play out at all. Something was looming and he didn’t like it.

‘I will protect you always’ was teasing his tongue. He so badly wanted to say it but he wasn’t sure how or why. He knew without a doubt that there would be conviction in his words. He would always do it whether he said it out loud or not. Whatever it cost him. Agreed. Nachash murmured.

“A beautiful sight to behold, one so rare and wonderful that it is only once you see it and forever you want to call it your own.” Elijah recited what he’d said earlier and gently kissed Amelia’s neck. The words that had been teasing his tongue fell from his lips almost immediately afterwards but Eli was glad they were in Bulgarian. For once in his life he was glad for the language and thanked Merlin or hoped that Amelia wouldn’t question him.

A time for peace, love and forgiveness but at what cost? Truly.

The Yule Ball - Page 11 Empty Re: The Yule Ball

Post by Belle Fey Potter Wed Dec 23, 2009 12:52 am

Belle reached up and placed the silver circlet carefully upon her head and then stepped back to look in her full mirror. She nodded in approval at the dress that she was wearing, the shade of emerald green made her eyes stand out beautifully and the velvet and silk complimented her shape to perfection. She had washed and then brushed her hair to a silky sheen as it fell past her lush hips. Glittery green flowers were strung through the raven waves giving her an elven like appearance.

The black heels on her feet with straps wrapped around her ankles were higher then she was used to wearing, but they looked cute enough. She adjusted the black lace choker with emeralds around her neck and looked to make sure the matching earrings were still in her ears.

With one more look she turned and walked from the room and headed down to the Great Hall. She had told Andrian she would meet him at the foot of the great stairs near the doors. She only hoped he liked all the trouble she had gone through for this.

She took a deep breath when she got there and nodded and smiled to those she knew. "Easy now...he will be here soon." She said to herself.

Yes, he was wearing a green vest. So what. Andrian wanted to match his vest with Belle dress. Many people have said that it was romantic when a couple had the same color clothing as each other in the formal. So, sticking with that advice he stood at the mirror, adjusting his bowtie in front of him. He hated formals, they were always so tight and when it was a hot day you were not able to roll up your sleeves because it'd be a disgrace to the formal tradition.

The only part annoyed him the most was having to have his black, formal pant above waist high. Luckily, the vest had covered it. He didn't want anyone to laugh at him, or thought he was something he was not; but then, he knew that every boy felt the same as he did. There was nothing to hide from.

Taking one, last look he turned and started heading down stairs. Escourting an old friend -- a girl down stairs at the same time. Making his way down the last stairs leading to the Great Hall, he saw Belle there; she looked beautiful like she walways had. His heart leaped with joy as he parted away from his other friend who took her boyfriends arm and waved him goodbye. Slowly he walked over to Belle, not taking his eyes off her, the expression on his face was blank, almost amazed.

"You look beautiful," said Andrian looking at her, smiling his cute, devilish signature smile at her, chuckling at the same time. He was so happy, this was going to be a lovely night. Everything was perfect, her dress, she was perfect nothing about her to him was flawless it was all perfect. "Absolutely breathtaking," he laughed, softly and wrapped his arma round her waist.

Belle able to take his compliments without blushing to her toes laughed softly before giving him a kiss. "And you are quite the handsome devil tonight yourself."

She turned and threaded her arm through his as they walked into the Great Hall, it looked beautiful of course and everyone looked splendid. "I am glad you decided to go with the green vest I picked out love, it looks wonderful on you."

The Yule Ball - Page 11 Empty Re: The Yule Ball

Post by James Wake Wed Dec 23, 2009 1:34 am

((It's cool.))

James did not enjoy dancing. It was an insult to dexterity and agility that people would use their physical abilities to twirl about in ridiculous outfits. It seemed as pointless as acting like a stooge to be accepted into society. He was internally begging for something remotely interesting to happen. Something more than slow music and hormones acting crazy. He wanted to be seven again. Back then, he was not expected to dance period, and could sit in a corner and freak out all the other kids by taking straws and making horses out of them. James flexed his faux arm, checking to see if his glove still flexed like a real hand.

He did not like wearing a glove over his fake hand. Not many people knew he had it, and preferred it that way. He could still feel the sting of losing his real arm. Crazy Aurors, praising the victory of the "light." Did they not know that werewolves could be good people too? Probably not. James remembered a time when he wanted them to suffer fates worse than death. But now, he merely pitied them. They never thought to understand.

Fools.

Still, James was not at the Yule Ball to sit around and think. He turned to the drinks section nearly immediately and walked over, a confident aura surrounding him like a protective shield.
