Hi, Daddy!

As you probably already know, I spent my first full moon as a werewolf. And to be honest, it was terrible.
The pain was terrible. Is it always like that or it becomes easier with the time?
I felt like I am sick for more than 3 days after that. I wasn't even able to go to the work. Aneta, my boss, and Death Eather gave me free days until I get better.
She also said me there is a poison that can help to remember what you do during the full moon. I am not sure if it's just the rumor or truth, though.
Anyways, I was thinking you may be able to help me with all of this. You know, show me how to be the werewolf, any maybe even accept me in your pack. You know I would LOVE that.
If you want to help me, I will wait for you tomorrow at 10 am in the same place where you turned me into the werewolf.

With love,
Beatris Sophie Greyback

Beatris send the owl to her father and went to sleep. Tomorrow will be a long day.

Once when she woke up, she went to the place where she is supposed to meet Fenrir.
She really had a hope he will be able to help her. She would like to remember what is happening during the full moon. She wanted to know if she kills someone.
It's not like she actually cares about humans, she just wanted to know who they are, for her scrapbook of victims.

While she was waiting for Fenrir to come she took a look at the place around her.
Last time when she was here, she almost died. Her father bit her but then, he wasn't able to stop. Beatrise even now wasn't sure how she managed to escape, but she did it, somehow. She was the survivor, and she will always find a way to survive everything.

Fenrir did not altogether understand this particular child of his. She had an ethic that seemed to be all her own. It would not bode well for her to be a pack member with this sort of thinking, but perhaps she needed to discover that on her own. Pack order would demand different behavior from her if she were to live within the pack very long. In the pack, she would not be entirely her own decision maker. Decisions, by and large, were made by Fenrir.

Killing as another matter. Fenrir did not permit killing for sheer sport, not so far as he could help it, anyway. Killing for sport brought out the aurors and men like Edward Donohue. Fenrir knew how to evade them, but irresponsible behavior put the pack at risk. And James was enough of an asshole to control. Fenrir had put him on a very short leash these days.

It was why he had chosen to meet Beatris instead of sending James. He did not want Beatris trying to discover how to survive being a werewolf on her own.

He had arrived at the place in the forest where, he presumed, she must think he lived. Fenrir had not lived in the woods for many decades, but Beatris didn't know that. He didn't tell humans where the pack lived.

"I told you it wouldn't be easy," he told her, sitting casually on a large rock. "The pain is always severe," he shrugged. "Think about it. The full moon changes your body, changes the size and shape of your bones and your muscles and every organ in your body, and it does it in a moment. Of course it is excruciating. It isn't any easier when you change back, and it takes massive amounts of energy. Of course it leaves you tired. The only thing a werewolf gets accustomed to is what to expect and, if he lives long enough, how to change his diet so the fatigue doesn't kill him sooner."

There are many ways to describe Beatris and her personality. Some may even dare to say that she is complicated. But the truth was, she was still the child. Spoiled brat, to be more precise. She never learned how to behave correctly. Authority means nothing to her and, to be honest, she was afraid only of Lorcan, the leader of Death Eaters. He was the one who accepted her when she had nothing when she was just the child from the street, confused and without any purpose in the life. He showed to her that there is another way to live.

She knew being in the pack could be difficult. There is Alpha, which means she would need to listen to someone's orders. But she was ready for it. She liked being the werewolf so far. She felt like she was better than humans, which she probably was. She didn't feel pathetic anymore, like someone who can't do anything.

She wasn't sure about killing someone on the other hand. She was Death Eater, which means if Lorcan says to kill someone, she needs to do that. Her only hope was that Fenrir would not care if she is human while killing. If she doesn't do that as the werewolf then it doesn't have anything with him or the pack, right?

To be completely honest, Beatris felt serenity when she saw Fenrir waiting for her. On the small part of her was afraid was that he would send someone else to meet her. Some scary werewolf, maybe even James Blood.
She met him once in the past, while she had that fake identity and meeting him wasn't nice at all. He hurt every part of her body in the process her father called learning how to fight. He may even kill her if Fenrir wasn't here. If he came today, there is no guarantee she would survive. He would probably just kill her.

Beatris always wondered where the pack lives. One part of her used to think they just live in the forest but on the other hand, that would be just primitive.
But she can't be sure, and she never dared to ask that specific question. Yet, her owl always finds its way to Fenrir when she sends him the letters.

"I know you told me that" she started while looking at her father and feeling actually happiness just because he was there.
"But I didn't understand it will be just hard as it was." She sat on the grass and started playing with the little rock she found on the ground.
"But I know it won't be always hard as now. I mean" she paused and frowned. What does she think? Maybe that it would be easy sometimes? Maybe if she turns many times, it won't be painful as hell anymore.
"I mean, there is you. You don't seem to be tired for the days after the full moon." She shrugged.

"I just want to learn how to be the werewolf and still functional person."

"Have you noticed something, in the werewolves that you've met, if you've met that many? There aren't old ones--not in significant numbers. Did you ever wonder why that was? A couple of reasons, mainly. First--the transition during the full moon is vicious, and it takes its toll on the body. It can age a person before their time.

"The second reason a werewolf dies young is because they don't follow the guidelines of the pack. If a werewolf goes rogue, they don't have the protection of the pack. And, when a pack sticks together, it minimizes risk to the individual werewolf. A pack, living together, has a better chance of finding food and warmth and the other things they need.

"If you want to be a surviving werewolf, I suggest you take a period of time and immerse yourself fully in the pack. Get to know them. Follow the females and learn how they live. Despite the fact that I know you will want to know how the males live and survive too, the pack is animalistic. It doesn't care about what gender a werewolf would prefer. It responds to the body chemistry of the gender the werewolf is.

"I've survived because, frankly, I'm larger than the average werewolf, and I've been a git my entire life. I was fortunate enough to spend years working for Voldemort, and that gained me a reputation. Humans generally don't mess with me. Neither do smaller werewolves, for that matter. And, you need to learn to manage your energies. If you feel fatigued after the full moon and you can lay low with the pack, then do so. Think about it--there are fewer werewolves out the night after the full moon passes for a reason."

Fenrir had that big monolog and Beatris was just there, quiet and for the first time, she actually listened.
In the past, she wasn't even able to imagine how hard it is to be the werewolf. It looked so easy from the stories. And now, here she is, doesn't know how to solve this and make it easier and better.

From what her father told her, there are many chances that she will die young. That is not acceptable at all.
She wants to live, she wants to do great things just like her father.
If she needs to live with the pack to do that, she was ready for that. That was the risk she was able to accept.

"Okay, I guess I can take the free month from the job to live in the pack" she started while looking at that little rock in front of her.
"I will do whatever you say if that means I'll have better chances. So" she finally looked at her father with the small smile on her face.
"When do we start?"

"Anytime you like, I suppose," he said. "You should know, though, that this is about as far away from where the pack actually lives as you can get. It isn't luxurious either. The pack merely needs to survive. So if you have any ideas about designer clothes or custom furnishings, you're about to be sadly disappointed. I suggest you bring practical, resilient clothing."

For himself, he had things he needed to do between now and then. There was the matter of making sure there were sufficient supplies, and since summer would soon be ending, there was a press now to put some of the essentials back into the den for use across the cold weather that would likely strike them in winter. Besides that, there were some new cubs on the den that seemed to always need more of something than what they had. Diapers were high on the list today and more clothing. Fenrir didn't do the shopping, of course. He merely needed to ensure that the funds were there. And that meant Fenrir had business to take care of---things the younger werewolves could not do.

"If you think you want to commit to this, then you may pack one small bag of your things." He dug in his pocket and took out a simple muggle brand teabag and handed it to her. "We must keep our location secret, for obvious reasons. If you still decide to show up, you'll find a little blonde female named Polly at the corner of Diagon Alley and Knockturn tonight at 11:15. Give her the teabag so she knows who you are, and she'll bring you to the den."

"Okay, I can come tomorrow. I... Wait, what?!?" For the first time since forever, Fenrir Greyback succeeded to shock her.
"No... No.. My good clothes?" She looked at him and after that, she took a deep breath. It actually makes sense. She doesn't want to ruin her pretty dresses and high heels.
"Okay, I understand. Just comfortable and practical clothes" she nodded. There, she can listen to others.

Beatris had no idea what is happening with the pack. She never lived like that, but she was sure it wouldn't seem like anything she has done in the past. While he was telling her about clothes, she realized that life she knows and likes is over. There won't be the luxury, going to night clubs and having fun.
She will be there to learn, to realize how to survive as the werewolf as many years as she can get. Because she wasn't ready to die young. There is still such a great things she is supposed to do.
Once upon a time, she promised something to herself: the world will know who is Beatris Greyback.

She looked at little teabag in his hand and for few second, she thought that he was joking. So, everything she needs to join the pack is to have one ordinary teabag. Damn it, werewolves are strange.
"Okay, then I guess it's my time to go get ready. See you tonight then, I guess" she shrugged and put a one million dollars smile on her face.

"See you tonight, daddy."

Beatris spent hours trying to decide what she should bring with her. She sent an owl to Aneta to say her she won't be able to come to the job for some time and then she started packing her things.
Just practical things. Almost everything in her bag was sweat suits but she also put one dress and high hills. Just in case she needs to do something for Death Eaters.

At 11:00 she was in the place where her father said her she should meet that blondie.
Now she just has to wait.
