Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

This morning, during efforts to reconstruct the Ministry building after its destruction a few weeks ago, an incident occurred in one of the basement storage compartments. While a Ministry employee was endeavoring to move boxes and preserve the artifacts there, he came across an old mirror. Although he did his best to be careful with it, he had removed it from the wall and ended up tripping over one of those very boxes. The glass within the ornately designed frame was shattered, and from it flew a horde of pixies, who took less than half an hour to start wreaking havoc.

Those working in the temporary Ministry buildings, who were close to the location of the incident, noticed the effects first. Magic started to go haywire, and has only managed to get worse, since. Anyone who comes into contact with the pixies has noted a difference in their spell casting abilities since being touched. By the time the correlation was realized and reported to us here at the Prophet, the rumors had begun.

Some claim that those born without magic have started to notice the changes going on in our world. Some are even wondering after whether or not Squibs are able to perform magic now that it seems to be floating about between witches and wizards. So far, these rumors have not been confirmed, but we urge everyone to be careful around Muggles or those without the ability to defend against magic. Spells seem to be cast without the witch or wizard's willing it to, sometimes. Other times, the spell simply does not work as it is expected to, or not as strongly as desired.

If anyone has experiences like these, please report them to the Prophet, and we will continue to monitor for changes within our world. The pixies seem more or less confined to Wizarding London, but we cannot say how long this will be true. If you can avoid trips into town, consider doing so. All it takes is one touch for your magic to be messed with, and those of us at the Prophet are sure that you all would prefer for that not to happen to you. Also, remember that the problems with your magical abilities follow you! Everyone should act with caution.

As soon as we can confirm or deny the rumors above, we will let you know.
