What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

The best way to spend a rainy day Empty The best way to spend a rainy day

Post by Hayley Sierra Mon Sep 08, 2014 9:00 pm

The day was overcast, just like Hayley's mood. It was rainy, windy, cold, it was almost like the dementors were near. She was angry, bored, uninterested in everything. All she wanted to do on days like this one was to sleep, all day. She would probably slept through this day too, if she hasn't received a letter.
She was just preparing to lie down, turn on some movie or just music and do nothing, when unknown owl landed on her window. She would continue to ignore the owl, but he (or she) was unstoppable. After few minutes of knocking on the window, Hayley sullenly got up, opening the window.
She took the letter watching owl flying away. She opened it curiously, thinking it's frome one of her cousins. It wasn't, but she was surprised anyway. It was from her Hogwarts friend Dom Weasley, the one of the few she stayed in contact with, after leaving England.
Turns out she was in London too, and if the letter was right, they were supposed to meet in Diagon Alley at Sparks Bistro & Bakery, in twenty minutes. Lucky for both of them, she had a floo powder.

Hayley was spending her time in Sebastian's apartment in London. She was there few days before she decided to visit her house in Manchester. She wasn't planning on going to London any time soon, but she had floo powder for any case.
Hayley wasn't the kind of girl who was preparing for hours. She changed her clothes, brushed her hair, took all she needed, and she was ready in ten minutes. She found a box with floo powder, took a little in her hand and the rest she put in her bag.
After she stood in fireplace, she toss a handful of powder into a fireplace and loudly and clearly said "Sparks Bistro & Bakery". The flames turned green and in the next moment, she was there.

-------

The restaurant was big, bright, full of people. They were all sitting inside, since it was a chaos outside. While she was watching the rain, she sighed sadly, she was missing warm weather, sun, sea...Australia.
This was her first time in here, since she got back she was eating at home. Hayley looked around, searching for blonde girl but there wasn't one. Well there was, but they were all with someone already. Concluding that she hasn't came yet, Hayley sat down for one of the tables.

The best way to spend a rainy day Empty Re: The best way to spend a rainy day

Dom was running late because, let's face it, the woman couldn't make a date if she geared her whole day towards being on time. Her luck was too lacking, her focus was too fragmented. Dom Weasley had long accepted the fact that she was incapable of being punctual. Despite this acceptance, she could not help but kick herself the whole way to Spark's. She had just stepped out her apartment when she realized for the first time that day that it was raining. How she had not noticed this while inside, blinds thrown open, she had no idea. She quickly ducked back inside and set about tracking down a beanie, umbrella, and coat.

Everything had been misplaced, naturally, so it took her a pathetic amount of time to track down her belongings and dress herself. Then she had to put a spell on her hair to ensure the curls did not collapse, and THEN she was finally ready to leave. Of course, Bartholomew was not going to let her leave without getting a treat or two. Once the treats were collected and distributed, Dom was free to apparate to Diagon Alley.

She walked briskly with her sauntering gait, trying to minimize the time her hair was exposed to the moisture in the air. Finally, she arrived at Sparks and slipped inside, shaking droplets of water from her umbrella, accidentally spraying a passing waiter. "So sorry, mate!" He ignored her and she tucked the umbrella away, before unbuttoning her coat, slipping her gloves into her pockets as her eyes scanned the restaurant.

She spotted Hayley and Dom's face split into a smile. She quickly hurried over, tripping over a chair on the way, but never deterring from her course. As she approached, she threw her arms out. "I'm expecting a hug from you, Hayley Sierra!" she commanded, grinning wryly.

The best way to spend a rainy day Empty Re: The best way to spend a rainy day

She was sitting in her coat, while she was thinking about her order. It was getting warmer, but she knew if she take off her jacket, she'll be cold. Why? Because she has tiny t-shirt on the short sleeves. And why is that? Well it's because she is still accustomed to the warm weather in Australia and Austria.
She called the waiter, putting off her coat. She was still thinking about her order so she ordered a glass of water. She'll order something else when Dom comes. If she even comes.

In her family, Hayley was probably the only one who was always punctual. She would often came before the time. If she's late, that means she's not coming.
She has habits to waiting people, since she was always waiting for someone, her mother, her cousins, her friends... At first it was annoying, boring, she was even trying to be late just so that she doesn't have to wait long. But now, she's totally okay with it.
The minute she put down her coat she started freezing. She thought about going back home to change, she had enough powder and besides that, she would probably managed to come back before Dom. However, she decided to stay. It wasn't that cold anyway. She wrapped her coat, thanking the waiter when he brought her glass of water.

Hayley looked up when the door opened, hoping to see familiar face. But, on the door there was a man, all wet from the rain. Poor guy, she thought. Looking through the window, she didn't noticed when the blonde came in. The girl was headed to her table, but she was preoccupied with something outside so she didn't noticed her at first.
Only when she heard familiar voice, Hayley raised her gaze. The girl was standing in front of her, smiling, throwing her arms, expecting a hug. Hayley smiled but she didn't stood up immediately. Instead, she looked at her watch. "You are late. Again." she said accusingly watching the girl. Then she stood up, smiling, and strongly hugged the blonde. "There you go. Happy now?" She was laughing softly, pulling back so she can see her "It's been a long time and you haven't changed a bit!"
