What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

With all of the changes going on throughout the Wizarding World these days, the Ministry of Magic is proud to announce some very exciting changes coming to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry this year. The Minister for Magic, Gideon Pierce, has granted the school an impressive amount of money to ensure that the transition back to school goes well for all of the couples – and, indeed, families.

Included in the new features of Hogwarts are renovated areas. The list is long, but includes: A chapel and playground on the ground level, a nursery on the second, a family common room and couples’/families quarters. On the grounds, one can now find a boathouse and thestral stables. Beyond that, several new staff areas have been added, include a Deputy Headmaster/mistress office, staff lounge, staff quarters and a staff common room.

The Ministry is determined to build strong wizarding families, built off of the foundation that the law ensures matches between two people who are very suited to each other, as well as the fact that we will no longer be afraid of consequences brought about by Purebloods continuing to marry solely among themselves.

Other additions include new classes and activities for students. Something to look forward to? The House Cup will be more important this year than in previous ones. Want to win your house some points and ensure that your banners and colors are posted all over the Great Hall? Be sure to get involved and make sure that your friends do, too.

A new use for the Guidance Office has been found. “The Ministry’s First Success Story,” Keiran and Melissa Hayes, will be holding meetings for counseling and apprenticeship help. The good news for students is that these sessions might just help them work their way to winning that House Cup we mentioned.

First years will have the time of their life, as they step into their new role as a student and as someone looking to grow as a witch or wizard. With anything from re-enacting major events in the history of the Wizarding World to venturing out into the areas around Hogsmeade to see what they can find, their first glance into their future will be an exciting one.

Similarly, second years will have quite an experience. Looking for a control group to help out with a new project, a few employees from the Ministry’s Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures are heading out to the castle grounds. A new endeavor known as “Pocket Dragons” will be something that the second years alone will get to experience. Lucky things!

Moving up a year, thirds can expect all manner of surprises – from magical creatures running amok to possible trips off the school grounds. Even the fourth years will be busy, to be sure. Three guest instructors will be preparing them for a life of taking care of themselves and putting their best foot forward. From cooking and etiquette to socials and dancing, they’ll have more to do than just go to classes.

With fifth and sixth years working on getting to know their new spouses and taking care of their families, there will definitely be challenges. But with everything added to the school, as well as many new faces in the Hogwarts Staff, there’s no doubt that everything will work out in the end. The fifth years, too, should be studying hard to take their OWLs at the end of the years. Even the seventh years will be busy, getting ready for their NEWTs and preparing to graduate!

We don’t know about you guys, but it sounds like a lot of new opportunities for everyone heading off on the train in the coming month.
