When Two Old Enemies Reunite Empty When Two Old Enemies Reunite

((If you read my app you probably read the first couple of paragraphs so feel free to skip if you wish.))

The Scottish Highlands. The green Mountains full of Valleys and small Villages. This was where Ne'Os had created a home. He was far enough from wizards and Muggles that he didn't fear being found but close enough to them that he could get to his food source when he needed it. He even had a pub that he frequented. All in all Life was good for him but he was hearing rumors of unrest within the magical community. Severe laws, and innocent people being imprisoned for not providing children. Some of these were the issues that Ne'Os had left behind but some where brand new. It was time for him to return. He still had plans for becoming the next Dark Lord, but for the moment at least they had been placed on the back burner. Over the past year he had realized that he had been going about things the wrong way. It was time for a new stratagem and it was simple enough. Go with the flow. Find allies. Destroy enemies. It mattered not if they were Order of the phoenix or Death Eater.

He looked into the mirror and started to whistle "I Fall To Pieces" as he straightened his grey tie on his grey suit. Satisfied with his appearance he walked out the open front door of his shack disapparating as he crossed the threshold. The faint traces of I Fall to Pieces hanging in the air for a few seconds before the shack fell into a still silence.

The sounds and smells of Diagon Alley hit Ne'Os first as he appeared with a pop. It had been a year since he had last been here. Not much had changed the shops were still busy, people appeared to not recognize him or the simply did not care who he was. He knew there were bigger fish around than him at the moment. He turned the corner onto the street proper from the side alley he appeared in. The whistle "I Fall To Pieces" still on his lips as he walked. He figured that if there was a place to get back up to speed with the events of late this was the best place to be...

When Two Old Enemies Reunite Empty Re: When Two Old Enemies Reunite

Post by Christabelle Whittle Sat Jul 12, 2014 3:56 am

There were much bigger fish in the world these days than Ne’Os Emof. Christabelle had almost completely forgotten the name in the years that she had been gone from Britain. The only thing she could never forget was the face of the man who murdered her father. It had been Ne’Os’ dagger that had been found in her father’s chest that night. Her memory hadn’t served to fail her on trauma like that yet. Although she now knew that the man who had been murdered wasn’t her true biological father she still cared for the man who raised her as his own child.

With the anniversary of her father’s death having just passed, and just being named the German Mistress of Magic, Christy couldn’t help but to think back to that fateful night. It had been the night that had lead her to be in the position she was in today. She wasn’t prepared to admit outloud that she really in all honesty had no clue what she was doing.

Putting on a simple white sundress, Christabelle finger styled her curls into a neat order before grabbing her wand and disapparated with a pop out of her home and into the familiar alley that she had grown accustomed to seeing since her return. She wasn’t even quite sure what she was going to do there today. In reality she just couldn’t stand another minute in the safe house without losing her mind, or at least feeling like she was.

She hadn’t even paid attention when she walked until she heard the familiar melody of a Patsy Cline song being whistled by someone not too far in front of her walking her way. Looking up to see who it was she felt her chest tighten out of anger and her hand gripping her wand tighter. She was looking at the man who had murdered her father.

Ne'Os's stomach felt as if it jumped as he suddenly recognized the witch walking in his direction. He could not forget the face of the woman whose father he killed. Not only that but she was once a prominent vampire hunter. In an attempt to hide his reaction to seeing her he continued to whistle his song. He was very careful with his hands. He knew if he made any wrong move she would attack him.

Thinking of his next best course of action he decided to walk past her in hopes that her assault would not come in such a public place where collateral damage was highly likely. He turned down a small side alley. He considered his possibilities: He could turn and attack her no doubt drawing the attention of the wrong people and perhaps losing the fight long before the ministry could respond. He could disapparate away but with the risk of being followed. His only other idea was to turn and wait for her. He still had to get answers. Perhaps she would be the one to give them.

Sighing he reached the dead end of the alley and turned. Patiently waiting. The whistling had ceased, his wand was in his hand, though he was not in a threatening posture. Now it was time to wait...

When Two Old Enemies Reunite Empty Re: When Two Old Enemies Reunite

Post by Christabelle Whittle Sat Jul 12, 2014 4:41 am

Christy’s days as a prominent vampire hunter had come from being blindly led into something that she really had no clue what she was dealing with. Most of the people she had harmed had forgiven her for it. She was even best friends with one of the vampires that they had tortured during that time. That sordid ordeal had been long in her past now. It was something she didn’t even talk about anymore.

The last few years had caused the half-veela to only grow in her graceful movements. Her time in politics had taught her to make calculated movements. Not having her twin around had caused her to learn how to become a much better dueler. The years might not have been so kind to her, but they had molded her into a stronger better person. She was no longer the happy little girl who people once knew. She had grown into a cold and calculating person who was trying to figure out how to keep a head herself in life.

She knew when he had turned down the alley that he would be hoping she would follow. She was only so sure if he didn’t recognize her, he would recognize her scent at least. She knew with him it could be a very dangerous game, but her curiosity was honestly getting the best of her. She waited a moment and looked around before following after him down the empty alleyway.

“I had hoped that I would never have to lay eyes on you again.” She said cooly looking at him.

Ne'Os gave the half Veela a smile that showed off his fangs. She had decided to follow him, just as he hoped she would. He wondered what she was planning to do. He knew he would have to be smart about what he said.

"I will admit," he said with his cold, aged voice. "I hoped I wouldn't have to see you either. If you will answer a question for me? How does this encounter end. With one of us dead or dying and the other being carted off to serve a life sentence in Azkaban? Or shall we just talk? No doubt you have questions for me as I do for you."

He made sure to keep eye contact with her. He wanted to be prepared if she suddenly started firing spells in his direction.

"Now, now." she said with a small smile. "No one needs to be left dying today." she laughed cooly at him, "After all the only one who should ever be in Azkaban between the two of us is you I think. I'm under a little thing called diplomatic immunity still in case you haven't been reading the papers."

She was not planning on firing any spells, although she would have been a complete moron to not be prepared to do so. "I guess I should really be thanking you." she continued to say, "I mean after all, if it wasn't for you I wouldn't be the youngest witch to have ever held the position that I'm currently holding."

"I hope you can be pleased with that at least. You've turned me into a very powerful woman...as well as a very formidable enemy for some." She knew better than to trust Ne'Os. She had learned that with the murder of her father. She wasn't about to start trusting him now. The vampire was very powerful in his own right and she knew just how dangerous he could be with the fact that he had been the one to kill Voldemort.

Ne'Os frowned he put two and two together. He knew that her father was the Minister of Magic in Germany but he didn't know that she was his heir. That would be added reason why he shouldn't fight with her. Though he wondered if he could manage to kill her, dispose of her body, and then disappear before a response team would arrive. He knew that the thought was dumb even as his brain was coming up with it.

"I have actually been out of contact for the last year. I am pained to say that my knowledge on recent events has been rather lacking. Though from what whispers I have heard. It sounds like the potential war between Germany and myself will have to be put on hold. So in effort to prevent said conflict I must congratulate you on your recent title change," he said hoping she would much rather want to talk about the crisis in the UK than the one that festered between the two of them.

He glanced around looking for some sort of personal protection. As far as he was aware there was none. "I hope a woman of your position is not alone. Though I am happy to admit that I am not the one you should fear. If rumors are correct the ministry is letting people much more active and dangerous than myself run free." As he said this he made sure she could watch him carefully as he placed his wand into his jacket inner pocket. He hoped this would be taken as a trusting move instead as an opportunity to attack.

Christy had been the heiress of her family in every aspect. Even when she was under the impression that Godric was only her cousin. How foolish she had been back in those days. She had the gift of telepathic communication with him. That wasn’t something simple relatives had after all. “No I don’t think a potential war would do you any good. Not with my twin who would most certainly come after you for that.” She replied.

“I have many friends in many different places.” She said looking at him. “In fact I’m not even allowed to leave my home without some sort of personalized protection these days. Makes things dreadfully boring if you ask me. So if you had any thoughts of trying to hurt me I would advise against it. It might would land you straight back into Azkaban. I really don’t think you want to end up there do you?”

She laughed a little. “The Ministry is always letting people walk around free who shouldn’t be. If I remember a few years ago you were pretty formidable. Enough that a couple of teenagers got you shaken up pretty bad if memory serves me correctly.” Her eyes watched him as he placed his wand back into the inner pocket of his jacket. She didn’t trust him either way and she kept a tight grip on her wand, although she kept it up against her lowered.

“But out of curiosity which snakes are you referring to?”

When Two Old Enemies Reunite Empty Re: When Two Old Enemies Reunite

Ne'Os sighed at the thought of how docile he had become. It was only a few years ago he was killing and torturing in large numbers. It was however, also true that he had aged very quickly. He had found that he was not invincible. First with his death, then with Grindelwald, and again with the Welsh Green Itch. He learned that he needed to fight smart and not the way he had been.

He wasn't necessarily ready to change his ways and at the end of the day he would still whatever it took to get his goals but now was the time to tame bloodlust with mercy. "your twin and Azkaban are the least of my worries anymore. I may have been more careful with how I do things then I used to but lets not forget that age does not speak to skill. I killed Voldemort. And then a few years later I forced Grindelwald out of the Ministry. Though he did leave a nast present behind for me." he said looking passed Christabelle with a slight look of fear in his eyes just at the memory.

"But as I said I am not your enemy...not anymore. Rumors say that Felix Barker is still at large. That man loves torture. More than I did anyway. And now there is a pack of wolves bent on turning all humans. And no doubt you are aware that the British Ministry is not bothering to enforce them because they are so busy working on there own agenda that they will let us burn just as long as they can use us for breeding. NO!!! I am not your enemy." He had anger in his eyes now. So much so they turned black.

"I left the Death Eaters and the Order of the phoenix and the innocent civilians behind for an entire year and it looks like they still could not fix this problem. It's time this nation rises to fix this mess. But it would appear that they don't even know the entirety of the problem. Of course nor do I...yet." His anger stayed but his eyes changed back to their grey. The once young teenager now old man watched Christabelle. He wondered if she cared about her political neighbors. She didn't necessarily have to. He figured she could simply go home if she felt threatened.

He sighed again. "I am old. Which is sad because I am so surprisingly young. I am not the killer you once knew. This world has ceased to be black and white like it is for so many. Just being evil and just being good has lost its place long ago."

When Two Old Enemies Reunite Empty Re: When Two Old Enemies Reunite

Post by Christabelle Whittle Tue Jul 15, 2014 5:53 am

Of course Felix Barker would have had to of been the one that Ne’Os would mention. The man who had been spending time with Christabelle and worming his way slowly into her inner circle. Of course those who had been able to get close to the notorious criminal knew that he wanted his redemption, the chance to be able to walk free as she and Ne’Os were both doing now.

She was slightly amused that she and Godric were not the people that he needed to worry about anymore. It was true for her, she had bigger things to worry about than the vampire who stood before her. She had remembered him once as a young man, but now she was standing before a man who was old before his time. It was almost cruel, but she couldn’t say that he didn’t deserve it.

“I’m very aware of what is going on in the British Ministry.” Christabelle replied, “I have to be in order to be running my country. Britain might not be in the best shape right now, but you would understand that someone as young as myself in a position of power needs strong leaders by her side.” She explained, “You learn to make allies where you don’t necessarily want to for the sake of your own neck. I would imagine that is why you’re talking to me, trying to assure me that you are not a threat, but I can not trust that.

“As for Felix Barker, he is the least of my worries.” She added flashing a small, yet charming smile. As if she had a secret that she wasn’t going to tell. Like a child who had snuck into the kitchen to get the very last of the brownies before dinner after their mother had told them not to. “I have bigger and better things to worry about. And if you remember how my twin is, then you know what he could do to me would be nothing compared to what I grew up with.” Christy remembered being placed in a bed of snakes who could kill her if she moved, because Godric thought she had a tendency to be fairly whiny at times. When you used someone’s worst fears against them, it made it hard for someone to torture when that had been taken away.

“So what is it exactly that you’re asking from me Ne’Os?” Christabelle asked curiously. She had bigger things to worry about than this vampire. Sure he may have been powerful once, but she knew he had since then lost power. She also knew that he could be a threat if challenged.
