What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. GENERAL APPEARANCE: Izzy has wavy brown hair, and eyes that are only a little bit lighter than dark chocolate. She doesn't have any freckles or moles, but she does have a birthmark shaped like a boot on her left shoulder blade. Her teeth are straight after years of painful braces, so she smiles as much as she can. She doesn't have much fat on her body, but not a lot of muscle either.

BOGGART: Being Buried Alive
(Backstory: When Izzy was twelve, her parents vacationed to a mountain range to go skiing. Izzy was a pretty good skier by that time, so she went with. The mountain that she was skiing on suddenly had an avalanche, and she was buried under the snow. She was trapped for about an hour in the cold and dark before her father found her, and that's why she is afraid of being buried alive.)

PATRONUS: Finding out that she was a witch

DEMENTOR: her mother having cancer

VERITASERUM: Izzy hasn't done anything too bad in her life. She once tried to turn her puppy into a soccer ball, but that's really it.

PERSONALITY: Izzy is quiet and non-confrontational, usually preferring to just stick to her books and colored pencils. She doesn't have many close friends, but she would love to have a best friend. If she can, Izzy will try to please everyone, but she won't go completely out of her way to make a stranger happy. She'd rather back away from a fight than continue one, but she refuses to be a pushover.

CHARACTER HISTORY

Early Years: Shelley grew up in London, but moved to Paris when she was ten. Her brother, Aaron, went to Hogwarts three years before she did, and she eagerly anticipated her letter arriving. Her parents like to travel, so she spent a lot of time touring Europe and Asia. That ended, however, when her muggle mother was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer. Izzy had not yet bothered to learn about muggle life and culture, and the next year of chemotherapy and pills was confusing and scary for her 10 year old brain. Her mother beat the cancer though by the time Izzy got her Hogwarts letter, and that is why her happiest memory is her mother's success. Aaron, Izzy's brother, took the protective older brother route instead of the jerk older brother route, and he and Izzy are very close. He currently works at the Ministry, but he frequently travels to the muggle world to gather up muggle money to travel. He shares Izzy's wanderlust.

Hogwarts Years: Hogwarts has been a great experience so far for Izzy. She does fairly well in classes, but she's no genius. She mostly sticks to herself, reading and drawing or doing schoolwork. Her romantic life has sadly been lacking, but she's not really in a rush. She really does enjoy her time at school though, and loves magic in general. Her favorite subject is Transfiguration, even though it's not exactly her best subject. Her brother Aaron was a fourth year by the time she finally went to Hogwarts, and he helped her adjust and find her way around.

Lillian,

Welcome back!

I like Isabelle, but she sure doesn't fit what I expect of a Gryffindor. I can see her fitting into Hufflepuff, but not Gryffindor. Gryffindors are more outgoing and self assured and adventure seeking than Isabelle is. I'm not suggesting you change her unless you had your heart set on her being a Gryffindor. I do think, if you're okay with it, she's a solid Hufflepuff.

But I would like to see her developed a bit more. For example--her boggart is of being buried alive? Where does that come from for her? I know we all have fears, but why is that her biggest one?

I'd like to see just a bit more in her history. You say she has a brother, but there's no mention of him in her history. Nothing about how she gets along with him, etc. You mentioned her worst memory is her mother having cancer, but that's not in her history either. Can you please connect some of the dots for me?
