Secrets like this are meant to be kept!

It was a Sunday afternoon, which meant the last and final Hogsmeade visit of the year before the New Year came to be. Students all the houses from third year to seventh years were going on about the new year party that Hogsmeade was having all week until New Years came. To be honest, it was a bit annoying to see couple talking about kissing at midnight and what there going to be wearing and crap. Katie could honestly care less about New Years, it was just another stupid nonsense holiday! Not that Katie didn't want to go to Hogsmeade New Years party, it's just that she didn't have no one to go with and she didn't want to go alone.

Katie was lonely now days, since Cupid was out of the picture she was focused on her studying and quidditch pratice with her team mates. She seen Cupid in the hall a couple of times, but he was never alone, he was always with a group of guys or walking with a pack of giggly girls. Not one time did he ever say hi or even tried talking to her, not that she would really listen to him anyways. He took every bit of Katie just like Jeremy did, he took her heart and broke it, her dreams crushed and took her soul and tore it into pieces to where there was nothing left for her. Katie was nothing more then a puzzle with all the pieces missing and gone.

Knowing that all the carriages were gone, Katie sat on the floor of the old rusty bathroom with various things before her. These were Katie's comfort these days, this was what she turned to when she felt like drowning in her own tears. They helped her become strong and move on with her life. Taking a drink of the potion in front of her, Katie looked at her cuts on her arms before adding another one. Wincing in pain she took a drink of the potion before rolling her sleeves back down. "That's enough for now."Katie thought to herself as she felt the potion taking effect on her.

Katie didn't know what she was taking, all she knew it was a potion for pain that she stolen from the Hospital Wing another with the knife. Although she kept them well hidden so no one could find them though. Plus Katie always did her stuff when people were gone, so it wasn't like anyone knew. The girls bathroom on the second floor wasn't a place where many people went anyways due to Moaning Myrtle.

Great just great, Medusa missed the last carriage to go to Hogsmeade! Medusa really wanted to go, due to the fact she was low on candy and was dying to have some! Medusa had a sweet tooth for candy, she couldn't get enough of it at times! Usually Katie was always the one to get her some when she was studying, but this time she decided to go on her own. "Screw it, I'll just put a warming spell on myself and walk there!"said Medusa to herself.

Walking out of the Ravenclaw common room, she headed down towards the Entrance Hall towards the Entrance Hall doors. But once she came to the second floor landing, she heard someone cry coming from the out of order girls' bathroom on the second floor. Rolling her eyes thinking it was just moaning Myrtle she kept on walking. She soon froze as she heard that it wasn't moaning Myrtle but Katie.

"Katie? What is Katie doing in there alone?"Medusa asked herself. She thought she would be in Hogsmeade, not in the out of order girls' bathroom on the second floor crying her eyes out. The closer Medusa gotten, the more she realized it wasn't a cry like she normally did in the common room, it was like a whimpering cry.

As she heard that, Medusa rushed down the corridor into the bathroom as her eyes widened at what she seen Katie doing. "Katie, what the hell are you doing?!?" Medusa asked her shocked. She couldn't believe what she was seeing, Katie drinking various potions and cutting herself?!? "NO! Katie stop it!"said Medusa taking the knife and potion away from her.

"NO! Dessa give them back to me, I need them!"said Katie softly. "They help me Dessa, please just give them back to me."said Katie. "There the only thing I have now to comfort me seeing how I lost Cupid."said Katie softly. "They help me forget my problems and my pain."said Katie rocking back and forth. "You don't know how hard it is having classes with someone that crushed everything about you and doesn't even care that he did!"said Katie angrily.

"He doesn't care that he took ever bit of me and took it for a ride and then threw into the dirt when he was done!"said Katie angrily. "All he needed me was for his fame to boost and that was it."said Katie. "I should of known, but I was to stupid to listen to my heart!"said Katie. "Just another damn Jeremy all over again!"said Katie angrily. "Before you ask, yes I had feelings for him and I liked now give me my stuff back!"said Katie.

She knew she wasn't going to give them back and that was the only knife and Potion she had, but the potion lasted her awhile as well as the knife. "How you find me anyways, I thought you were in Hogsmeade!"said Katie softly. She was pale and weak, and looked as if she haven't been eating days which she hasn't. Katie haven't been eating that much lately, she was to depress to eat or she was to sick to eat.

"Don't tell anyone I been doing this Dessa, no one knows I been doing this since the party!"said Katie. She knew she was going to hear it from Dessa but she didn't care, she really didn't care about anything anymore other then her friends, brothers and the guys. Well... quidditch and studying but that was it really. She didn't care about Cupid anymore, but she was still hurt by him, and the scars on her wrist proved it.

Medusa shook her head. "NO! I'm not giving them back to you Katie, both of these are dangerous!"said Katie. Medusa knew Katie was hurt, but this wasn't the way to help her with her problems! Hearing Katie cry on how she lost Cupid she frowned. "You didn't lose him Katie, he just lost like you are now."said Medusa softly. "Come on Katie lets go see Sophia and get you some help!"said Medusa.

Listening to Katie go on about Cupid, she couldn't help not to feel that she was somewhat right, Cupid had changed. "Katie you listened to your heart because you knew he was a good person, he still is that same Cupid but he just lost it due to fame."said Medusa. "He just needs a little reminder of where his true heart lies!"said Medusa softly. "The same for you, your heart doesn't lie in cutting and taking potions Katie and you know that!"said Medusa. "I sort of figured you had feelings for him Katie, the way you talked about him showed it!"said Medusa.

"I know you still have feelings for him or else you wouldn't be doing this!"said Medusa. "I honestly think Cupid likes you as well, but he doesn't know how to tell you!"said Medusa honestly. "I can tell he cares about you, I can see the pain in his eyes when you walk pass the Slytherin table, he wants to tell you something but he doesn't know how!"said Medusa. "Not to mention he probably isn't ready to give up everything he has for you when he just gotten it!"said Medusa honestly. "But he will realize sooner or later that he needs you."said Medusa softly.

When she asked how she found her Medusa shook her head. "You were whimpering Katie, and at first I thought it was Myrtle until I heard it was you."said Medusa. "Besides I was heading out, but I heard you and decided to see what was wrong, good thing I did!"said Medusa honestly. Looking at her, Medusa shook her head. "When the last time you ate Katie, I mean a full good meal?"Medusa asked her softly. "You look horrible, sorry to say that!"said Medusa. "Katie your my best friend, I can't stand to see you like this!"said Medusa sadly.

Medusa looked at her shocked when she told her she been doing this since the party. "Wait what, you been doing this since the party?"Medusa asked her sighing. "Katie why?"Medusa asked her already knowing the answers. "You need help Katie!"said Medusa softly but honestly.

Katie nodded. "Yeah I have, and the last full meal I ate was at the party."said Katie softly. "It's not a big deal Dessa, I been fine."said Katie. Katie scowled as she talked about Cupid. "Don't you talk about him Dessa, not now!"said Katie. "Now give me my damn stuff I need them!"said Katie. "I need them Dessa I really do!"said Katie crying.

Katie looked at Medusa and shook her head. "No he doesn't Dessa, if he did then he would of apologized already!"said Katie. "I don't like him anymore Dessa, he's nothing to me anymore!"Katie spat angrily. "I have my comfort now."said Katie softly looking at the potion and knife. Reaching for the potion and knife she seen Medusa hid them with magic . "Oh come on Dessa, I need them!"said Katie falling to her knees crying.

"Who am I kidding Dessa I need him I need Cupid!"said Katie rocking back and forth still crying. "I haven't ate a full meal since the party."said Katie softly but weakly. Katie was sick and weak, she could tell that she looked like she been through hell and back. "Maybe I do need Sophia's help in curing myself."said Katie softly. Katie never like to admit that she had a problem, but this time she was seeing how she knew she had a problem.

"I only been doing this because I'm lonely and I miss Cupid."said Katie softly. "I been depress over losing him."said Katie as she wiped away her tears as new ones came. "No matter what you guys say, I lost him and he doesn't care about me anymore."said Katie. "I mean who would when you got all those friends."said Katie honestly. "I mean if I had the popularity like he does, I wouldn't had a care in the world as well."said Katie softly.

Standing up, Katie started feeling light headed and dizzy. Shaking off the feeling she started walking as everything around her started spinning around. As her vision started fading in and out, Katie looked at Medusa one last time. "I'm not feeling so good!"said Katie softly but weakly before she fainted onto the floor.

"KATIE!"Medusa screamed as she ran forward her and looked down at her weak and pale friend. "Oh Katie, why did you do this to yourself?"Medusa asked herself softly. Medusa knew why, but she didn't get why Katie would want to hurt herself. Katie said it was her comfort, it made her stronger and forget about her worries and pain. That might of been true, but it wasn't the way to go.

Getting out her wand she flicked it at Katie as she walked back to the Ravenclaw common room. After a few minutes of minutes of walking she set Katie on the couch before getting a parchment and quill and writing to Sophia who was in Hogsmeade. "Take this to Sophia quickly."she said to her owl as it flew off. Luckily Medusa was going to be in Hogsmeade due to her writing to her almost every day. Now all she had to do was wait for Sophia to show up.

"Your going to be ok Katie I promise, just hang in there!"said Medusa softly. A few minutes her owl came back as Sophia told her to meet her in the Hospital Wing. Taking it as her cue, Medusa flicked her wand again as Katie floated beside her to the Hospital Wing. Medusa was going to do everything she could to get Katie back on her feet.

Reaching the Hospital Wing, she pushed it opened as she seen Sophia standing before her. "Thank goodness your here, she been cutting herself and taking various potions Soph ever since the party!"said Medusa sighing. "We got to help her Soph, look at her!"said Medusa holding back tears.

Feeling someone put her on a bed at St. Mungo's Katie groaned in her sleep but she didn't wake up one bit. She was to weak to wake up or even know what's going on for that matter. She didn't even know what was going on around her due to being so weak. Letting sleep take over her, Katie feel into a coma like state where she couldn't hear or talk to anyone.

Sophia looked at Katie and sighed as she flicked her wand at her she frowned. "Katie fell into a coma Dessa, her body been expose to to much and it couldn't handle it anymore so it shut down on her!"said Sophia. "Although I can fix her, but she's still might be in the coma."said Sophia sighing. "Poor Katie, when everyone finds out there going to be crushed!"said Sophia softly. "If were lucky, she'll wake up in a week or two, but it could be longer!"said Sophia.

"I'll take her to St. Mungo's Dessa, in the mean time tell everyone you know about Katie, they need to know!"said Sophia. "I know she told you not to tell, but they need to know even Cupid!"said Sophia. Sophia knew about Katie and Cupid for Katie wrote to her as well asking her for advice on love. "It'll be ok Dessa I promise, in there!"said Sophia softly. "I'll see you at St. Mungo's."said Sophia softly.

Taking Katie she casted a charm around her and Katie as she gotten back onto her firebolt and took off towards Hogsmeade. It didn't her long to get there, as she landed she took hold of Katie and apperated to St. Mungo's.

Medusa looked at Sophia with worry in her eyes. "A come what?"Medusa asked looking at Katie with tears in her eyes.  "Dear god, poor Katie."said Medusa looking at Katie sadly.  It was sad to see such a sweet girl like Katie go down like this,  she did nothing to deserve this.  But here she was,  now in a coma from the potions and knife did to her.  Alot of people thought it was comfort like Katie did, but it was deadly.

Medusa nodded as she watched Sophia take off through the window towards Hogsmeade.  Even when Sophia was long gone and probably at St. Mungo's, Medusa stared out at the window. How could she not known Katie was hurting herself? she was her best friend she should of known!  What kind of best friend lets their best friend hurt each other? God Medusa felt horrible, like she wasn't there when Katie needed her the most.

It wasn't no wonder Katie did this to herself, she felt lonely in the world, which wasn't true.   Medusa, Becca, the guys and her brother loved her, surely she knew that.  But it wasn't about them she realized, it was about a certain Slytherin boy Katie started liking.  Medusa's anger rage as she was somewhat angry at Cupid,  how could he not care to ask Katie how she felt after the party, how could he be so selfish.  The way Medusa saw it, Cupid wouldn't of been popular if Katie wouldn't had shown him the room of requirements or even had the brains to think of the perfect party!

Katie was a VERY clever girl, she knew that her and Becca were the ones who made the party possible with their brilliant minds in the decorations, but Cupid just helped by putting them up and telling everyone.  Well... Katie done mostly of it due to her knowing all the houses due to Olivia, Jaybee and Carson being Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs. Everyone knew her brother and Shane were Gryffindors so really Katie was the one who brought in the party people.

Medusa's anger flared as she realized that Katie did everything to make Cupid popular, in return she paid for it dearly.  Although probably did it because she liked Cupid and wanted to see him happy even if it didn't make her happy.  "God he's so selfish, little does he know Katie done everything for him!"said Medusa to herself.
