Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Slowly it was getting colder outside and soon it would begin to snow outside. This thought left a little bit of excitement in the young Sofia. With a smile on her face and a bag slung over her shoulder she skipped into the almost empty Grate Hall. It was not meal time so the tables were bear where students were not already sitting playing a game of wizard’s chess or reading the daily prophet. Sofi made her way to the center of the room before climbing a-top the table just to her right and plopping down crossing her legs.
Sofia started to hum Christmas tunes as she pulled her bag off of her shoulder dumping its contents onto the table in front of her.  Out of the bag came tumbling scissors, paper mostly in white but some in blue and gold, and two blocks of Styrofoam. With a small bell like giggle Sofi’s smile spread across her face.  Picking up the Styrofoam the small girl started rubbing the two pieces together causing smaller pieces to fall onto the table below creating something that almost looked like the snow she wished would come soon.
The girl wore a teal blue sweater with two cats and flowers on the front, along with bright pink leggings and shoes from her favorite muggle movie. Her blonde hair was up in a messy bun on top of her head with small strands that had fallen out throughout the day framing her face.

November had arrived, bringing with it a harsh cold air that prickled your lips. Winter was truly on the way and Steven had guessed that it wouldn't be long until the snow arrived. Snow. It was something Steven neither liked nor disliked. Sure it was fun, sledging down the sloping lawns of Hogwarts grounds - last year the Professors had arranged for a heard of reindeer to pull students around the grounds and into Hogsmede on. That was the part Steven liked. The relaxing part. The peaceful part.

Then of course there were the snowball fights. Any child aged fourteen would surely wish to participate in a snowball fight. Not Steven. Or perhaps he would if his older brother and twin sister didn't seek him out with their friends to cover him in an avalanche. They mean't well, although it was never well received. Steven would always fold his arms and storm off away inside the castle. It had been pretty much like that since Steven and his twin sister started Hogwarts.

It was surprising that the three were in separate houses, but then, for Steven, that was a plus. It wasn't that he hated his siblings they just annoyed him, bullied him. He was the center of all their jokes, all their pranks and all their fun, whether it be placing him victim to a food 'spillage' or hitting him with a trip jinx.

Thankfully, being in Ravenclaw, Steven didn't sit with his siblings during meal time he found himself at the Ravenclaw table. Even when it wasn't time for tea Steven would sit at the bare table away from Gryffindor and Hufflepuff.

This is ridiculous. Steven thought as he read over his history of magic. Why would anyone even say that goblins were the source of all evil. There are far worse things that wizards had done in throughout time. Steven was sat at the Ravenclaw table, pondering over his history of magic homework on goblin riots. Twelve and a half inches complete, four to go. How Steven was going to fit it all in he had no idea, although his thoughts were soon drawn away by the arrival of a Hufflepuff fourth year: Sofia Scamander.

Steven was aware of her, how could you not be? She sure was original and stood out more than even some of the popular students - unlike the popular students not for the right reasons. Sofia was simply weird and ....

Oh. My. God. Steven thought to himself as he watched her, wide-eyed, clamber onto the table before him. Hesitantly he glanced around, rather embarrassed at the fact Sofia was, was... Making snow?! Four inches away from him.

A few students had began to point and giggle, making Steven feel extreamly uncomfortable. If his siblings walked in now that's all he'd need. Perhaps his Hufflepuff brother would be more understanding, after all he would have seen even more of Sofia in the common room, but his sister. She was the fiery one. The one who'd never let Steven forget this humiliating moment.

'Urm. Excuse me.' Steven said pointedly, craning his neck to look at her face and attempting to ignore the unusual taste of clothing she wore, 'What are you doing?' He hoped he didn't come across rude, sure he could be moody but he never wanted to bluntly hurt someone's feelings, especially Sofia's. She always had good intentions, or at least he assumed she did... If only she wasn't so odd.

"I'm making it snow!" Sofia exclaimed as she rubbed the two pieces of styrofoam together. "Couldn't you tell?" She looked up at the boy who had spoke to her giving him a crooked smile. "I can't wait for it to snow!" she giggled and moved the pieces back and forth a little faster. pursing her lips Sofi put the foam down and picked up the papers and scissors and began cutting little bits off to add to the small pile she already had in front of her.

Both Steven's eyebrow and lip raised slightly in disbelief. Being a Ravenclaw mean't that he regularly met people who were, for a polite word to use, eccentric. In the common room there would always be a bunch of people discussing something unusual or planning out an experiment to create a new form of fertilizer - admittedly Steven found it refreshing at times to be around like-minded people, but Sofia. Sofia was off the scale of eccentricity.

'Um. No, you're not.' Steven said honestly. 'You're just rubbing pieces of styrofoam together. Besides, it's not going to snow for another month or so.' He added, hoping to bring Sofia back to reality. He supposed it was nice she had her own bubble to live in, but there comes a time when people need to post the optimistic bubble and enter the real world.

She can't wait for it to snow? Alright for her she doesn't have family who attempt to bury her. Steven thought bitterly as he continued to watch Sofia. Her life was wonderful. Sure people made fun of her, and sometimes her younger brothers Lorcan and Lysander, but she was happy. In fact, the whole family was happy. Her two brothers were in Ravenclaw and although Steven had never shared words with them he knew that they seemed polite and well.

'Why don't you just wait for it to snow rather than, well, embarrassing yourself?' Steven asked in a soft tone, hoping that by the use of the word embarrassing Sofia would realise that it wasn't normal social etiquette. 'Or at least look meteolojinxes and make it snow with your wand.'

Fourth years weren't mean't to know about meteolojinxes, in fact it was something that was left for NEWT level charms but Steven couldn't help but know about them. He liked to be the best, the smartest. Originally it was to make himself feel better and seem as though he was the better child out of his siblings. However, there comes a time when you behave in a certain way you forget why you became like that. Now Steven enjoyed being smart. He felt somewhat worthy.

"Embarrassing myself?" Sofia asked tilting her head to the side before giggling. "i'm not embarrassing myself!" She exclaimed shaking her head as the foam disappears in her hands. The girl then picked up the papers and scissors and began cutting them into small bits about the same size of the bits of foam that surrounded her and stuck to her cloths. "And its all the fun of snow without the cold weather right here." Sofi giggled and tossed a little bit of her snow over the boys head.
