Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Evening with the Elves Empty Evening with the Elves

Kyria smiled following Mavis through the kitchens passage. The fresh aromas of spices and fresh bread reached her nostrils as soon as they had entered, making her mouth water and causing Kyria to realize she was actualy quite hungry. Maybe she cod get herself a snack while she was down here. Kyria was absolutely thrilled to come down here and see the house elves. Oh how she always wanted to see one. She so mentally slapped herself as to why she never thought kf this before. Kyria was glad to have met Mavis.

Reaching the end of the passage, the two had entered a nicd, cozy room with a big cooking fire on one side and tables every where. The elves were scuffling about lreparing for the feast for the night so it looked busy. At least it should. To Kyria it was a wonderful sight. Kyria didn't see the business of the kitchens but the wonder of magical creatures bustling around here and there to make the soon to be mouth-watering food everyone at the school craved. Kyria smiled in wonder and excitement.

"Oh! It looks simply wonderful!" Kyria exclaimed, stepping head intothe kitchens. A fee of the elves took notic and brightened up to see Mavis. One of them, a cute one with soft blue eyes and a small body came up to her and Mavis. "Hello there Mavis! Found a new friend I see~" He beamed at Kyria. She felt amazed to be in the presence of a house elf Kyria was in fact a little shy. She had never actually had a conversation with such a creature it struck Kyria as being new to her. Kyria was often timid or awkward or more or less shy when sometimng new happened to her. Nonetheless Kyria kept her pleased smile plastered on her face, waiting for Mavis to begin introducing her desr friends.

Mavis glanced at Kyria's amazed expression, taking in the large cooking fire, multiple stokes. There was two house elves sat at a table sprinkling flour into a mixing bowl ready for the desserts they would be making. The site of busy house elves never ceased to amaze Mavis. She loved magical creatures and it seemed that Mavis had finally found a friend who shared her interested.

'Oh hey Bonsi!' Mavis cried, crouching down to shake the elves hand after it lowly bowed at Kyria. 'This is Kyria!' (A miracle Navis had gotten her name right!) 'She is in Gryffindor too!'

'How very nice to meet you Mistress Kyria.' The elf replies before falling into another low bow, so low his long pointed nose touched the floor, which was too difficult because he was a very short elf. The house elves had stopped calling Mavis 'mistress' because she treated them as an equal, they were friends. However whenever a student that hadn't met before stepped into their home the elves treated them like royalty.

'How is Winky today?' Mavis asked Bonsi as three house elves hurried behind them carrying large bowls of potatoes over their head to a nearby table where they soon began to peeled and diced for a pan of hot pot. Mavis always asked this question to Bonsi, who was her best elf friend, because he was the one who looked after the drunk elf. Ever since her master had abandoned her in 1994 before the Trizwizard Tournament she had never been the same. Usually always crying over the same thing, crying about how her master had eventually died, crying over spilling a mug of tea. Everything set her off - not that it bothered the elves the majority of them ignored her apart from Bonsi.

Evening with the Elves Empty Re: Evening with the Elves

(I'm sorry i didn't see this before >.< But here it is ^.^)

Kyria was amazed at the sight of the house elves working. There were some cutting vegetables for the dinner they were to have that night. There were four more by the ovens all kneading bread dough to become plump and round. Oh how busy it looked! Still with kyria and Mavis in the kitchens it seemed they didn't get in the way of the elves pathways between tables.

Kyria grew a wide smile when a house elf, apparently Bonsi approached them. She felt somewhat flattered from him bowing down to her, but then again that's what house elves naturally did with whoever were their master. Though Rei didn't consider herself his master but she was sure after awhile of her visits him and the rest of the house elves will grow out of it.

"It's very nice to meet you as well Bonsi." Kyria greeted back with a smile on her face. Then Kyria's expression went to that of concern when Mavis asked about Winky.

"Ah yes how is she?" Kyria asked with equal concern. "i heard about her...condition. i do hope she's alright." Kyria always showed this level of care for magical creatures of any kind.[/color]

Evening with the Elves Empty Re: Evening with the Elves

(ooc: it is okay i have been on holiday).

Mavis nodded in agreement with Kyria, she too cared about the house elves and it was nice to finally find someone else who thought like she did. Before Bonsi could even reply to the pair of Gryffindors a large wail erupted from a tiny elf in the.corner swinging a bottle of sherry limpy from her bent wrist.

'No Winky!' Mavis cried sadly as she began to waddle across the kitchen, bypassing house elves who didn't seem to care for Winky's emotional pain. 'Winky what is the matter?' Mavis asked, plonking her heavy body on the floor besides the elf

'Oddball Oakes. Go. Awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!' Winky wailed as she insulted Mavis, not that she realised it was herself being called an Oddball.

'You're not an oddball!' Mavis gasped in horror as she raised a grubby hand to Winky to comfort the elf. WHAM! Winky had whacked the bottle of Sherry against Mavis chunky wrist, spraying glass all over the floor and leaving a nasty cut on Mavis.

Kyria nearly jumped from the sound of Winky's wail. She never thought she would hear a house elf cry like that ever. The thought just never occurred to her. Feeling very sorry for the poor house elf, Kyria follwoed Mavis over to Winky, dodging some other house elves as they seemed to carry on their kitchen duties without any emotion to Winky's condition. Kyria found it rather insensitive to see them not showing any concern for one of their kind. But then again, most house elves were trained to do their jobs and that was all they were doing.

Kyria joined Mavis onto the floor, sitting on her knees. winky, to Kyria, seemed terribly ill, probably brought on by her alcohol problem. She looked to Mavis, who seemed to not realize that she was being called oddball. Not that it really mattered though, Kyria found her to be quite a sweet and happy person to be around.

Kyria looked shocked when she heard a whack and the sherry bottle shattering on the ground. Seeing the cut on Mavis's hand, Kyria had instantly developed feelings of protectiveness towards Mavis and tried to look calmly at Winky.

"WHy on earth would you do that Winky?! We only wish to help." Kyria nearly scolded. the other house elves seemed shocked as well of the sudden event, but two came quickly to clean up the mess. "Please no more drinking," then Kyria looked to Mavis. "How is your wrist Mavis?"

Evening with the Elves Empty Re: Evening with the Elves

Mavis clutched her wrist and let out a soft wail, dabbing the wound and plucking a shard of glass from it, causing the blood to spurt everywhere. 'I don't feel too good.' Mavis called, not taking in what was going on around her and not realising that Kyria was telling Winky what she did was wrong, nor realising that Kyria was asking her a question.

WHAM! Mavis had took one look at the blood and fainted flat out on the stone floor. A few of the house elves that had cleared away the glass sherry had rushed to tackle Winky to the ground whilst Bonsi and another elf name Mojo began to clean her wrist and dab a wet flannel on her forehead.

'Poor Mavis!' Mojo said as he began to tie a bandage around her wrist before yelling at Winky. 'BAD WINKY! YOU MEAN HOUSE ELF! WINKY SHOULD LOCK HERSELF AWAY! MOJO WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO MISTRESS MAVIS! BAD WINKY!'

Kyria held Mavis's wrist as she pulled out the glass shard, getting her fingers and palm stained with blood. She immediately felt concerned when her friend didn't feel good. She jumped back, mouth agape as Mavis fainted cold on the hard stone floor. But before she coudl move to help her, the house elves were already swarming to help her... and scold at Winky.

'BAD WINKY! YOU MEAN HOUSE ELF! WINKY SHOULD LOCK HERSELF AWAY! MOJO WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO MISTRESS MAVIS! BAD WINKY!' Kyria turned to Mojo with an angry face at him.

"Well now! No one should ever have to be locked away just because of bad behavior. Why, Winky knows not what she does as do all people when they are intoxicated like this! She will come to I'm sure it will just take some time," Kyria scolded the house elf, though hoping she wasn't too harsh on him. Kyria turned a wary eye on Winky, who was now curled up at the corner and crying.

"Winky?" Kyria asked, as she approached her, "Did you ever dare do such a thing to Mavis before? Surely this must be the first time, but why would you do such a thing to someone who cares for your well-being?"

Evening with the Elves Empty Re: Evening with the Elves

Post by Guest Wed Aug 07, 2013 6:15 pm

The sound of yelling house elves and the clatter of pots and pans made Mavis begin to come round. Lifting herself up she noticed Bonsi was holding her hand and glancing cautiously at Winky as Kyria began to ask if she had done it before.

'Oddball Oakes deserved it! Winky would do it again if Winky needed to. Winky would hurt Overweight Oakes, Mad Mavis, Oddball Oakes over and over if she could be reunited with her master!' She cried throwing the remains of the bottle across the stole floor where it smashed against a table leg. It appeared that after thirty years the old elf was still hung up on her Master both dying and freeing her.

Mavis stared from Kyria to Mojo to Bonsi to Winky. 'What's going on?' She asked cheerfully as if she hadn't just been smashed in the wrist and fainted flat out.
