Charms Class 3 Empty Charms Class 3

Post by Milo Dorsey D'eath Wed Sep 26, 2012 9:07 pm

Milo was running late. Again. Because he had found a friend in a certain Defense Against the Dark Arts professor with whom he liked to waste all of his time. He would do his best not to show it once he arrived, but he might, MIGHT, have had a few shots the night before. So he was a tad confused. Actually, if we are all being honest here, he was just waking up.

An early morning class is never fun. So he sent a quick note to all his student via Scops owls, tiny little irritating things, once he had come home and realized it would be a rough morning. He had anticipated his own want to sleep, so he told all of the students that he was implementing pajama day and to feel free to show up in pajamas. Now he was trying to wake himself up.

____________

Milo is late because he has a hangover. He has implemented pajama day- you're character received the memo at about four in the morning. Come on in, talk, be merry, fight amongst each other, etcetera.

Extra five points to anyone who has their character somehow complete the line I posted in the description/subtitle. Because I'm bored.

Saoirse trudged into her first class of the day, rubbing the sleep from her eyes grumpily. She had been sleeping most soundly when she had been awoken by the insistent pecks of a tiny owl at around four in the morning. Well, she'd be damned if she was going to traipse around the school in her sleeping garments. Unable to get back to sleep, she had dressed, lazed about the Gryffindor fire for awhile, then made her way down to the Great Hall for an early breakfast.

Still chewing on a piece of toast, Saoirse stepped into the classroom, not surprised that their professor was not yet there. For being in the school for such a short time, she seemed to be picking up everyone's habits and general moods at a pretty accelerated pace.

Seeing no instructions on the board, Saoirse contented herself to taking a seat and staring off in a daze. She didn't even have the energy to take out a book, which was odd for her, as she was usually a morning person; though her sleep wasn't usually interrupted by a ruttin' owl either.

Any fool who showed up in pajamas was insane. Yes, Teddy had been incredibly tempted to show up, but she did have her dignity after all. She dressed herself in her stiff, pressed Ravenclaw outfit, pulled on her long socks, fastened her tie and buttoned her collared shirt and pulled on her pleated grey skirt. Oh... but... wearing slippers. Now that did have some appeal. She pulled them on... and then pulled on a comfy sweater, slipping her shirt ant tie off from under. She buried her shoes, shirt and tie in her bag.

She arrived in the classroom after breakfast and finished up her last gulp of orange juice, before stowing away the goblet. She immediately headed towards a seat in the back and sat, resting her head against the desk. Maybe she could take quick catnap.

That confounded bird had disturbed Cliff's beauty sleep. He was pleased, however, to find that it was a note from his favorite teacher, informing him that he didn't need to put any effort into his appearance the next day. Cliff turned off his alarm clock and settled in, sure that one of his dormmates would wake him for breakfast.

The didn't.

Breakfast was almost over when Cliff woke up. He managed to run into the Great Hall to grab some sausages and a bagel, wrap them in a napkin, and run for his Charms class. His efforts were unneeded, for her entered relatively early and before the professor. Only one girl had followed Milo's instructions, and not nearly as thoroughly as her had. He took a seat towards the front, grinning over at the girl who had turned him pink. He raised his pinkie, which he had not changed back and wiggled it with a smile.

He then set about eating his breakfast while he waited Milo's entrance. It was sure to be spectacular.

Being up pretty late reading, she lost track of time. When Ellie finally went to bed, she had hardly been asleep for more than a minute before a tapping sound had woken her back up. Not wanting the noise to wake up the other girls in her dorm, she quickly got out of bed and went to the window and found a little owl with a note. Upon reading this note, Ellie's wonder had turned into frustration. She didn't mind charms class, but getting a note from the professor late at night to say they were having pajama day, nope. She flung her hands up in exasperation. Giving up she went bed, it was useless stressing over the class.

In the morning Ellie had woken up crabby, she was still frustrated about the late night interuption. Also from lack of sleep, she wondered how it was she even got up at all, but decided to put a limit of how long she'll read from now on. Her robes swished as she walked into class, she thought it was absurd to where night wear to class.

Finding her usual seat in the back, she sat down with a soft thud in her seat. Her book bag slid to the floor with hardly a sound. Ellie liked how the classroom was back to normal, but slightly let down after she noticed no formal assignment had been noted. Shugging her shoulders, Ellie let her head loll to the table. Tired as she was, she hoped that she could get away with a few minutes of a nap. Maybe eating as well, as her stomach started to gurggle. She had forgotten about breakfast.

Bella was thankful that stupid owl had woken her, any more sleep, and her pupils would be to wide, and then her hair wouldn't match. She knew they had the ability to wear pajamas, but she didn't take up the offer. She had a reputation as one of the best dressers in Hogwarts, she was not going to give up her title.

She clipped her hair into a bun, and sprayed it with water viciously, so it would shift into the right angle (Please don't make that wrong) and then use hairspray to keep it in place. She then put on her white I LOVE NY shirt, and a black leather jacket on after.
She slipped into her back leather "William Rast" and put on her lether boots, and walked out her common room just on time.

*

When she arrived in the classroom, she was probably the fanciest dressed, mission accomplished. When she walked past people who were asking why he was actually late, she just said in a cool tone "He was probably partyin' partyin'"

Last night, Ade helped CeCe with her essay about twelve uses of dragon's blood. Once Cecelie finished, it was about half past three in the morning and girls spent about half an hour, talking about most random things. Adriana was about to finally fall into sleep, when the little owl woke her and almost everyone in girls bedroom up. Once owl was gone, Ade had to count sheep to fall asleep again.

When Ade woke up and saw the entire bedroom was empty, she knew she was late. She had slept only with her old T-shirt, so she climbed into her royal blue OnePiece and put a pair of pink UGG boots on. Yeah, she looked weird, but whatever. A class full of people was able to wear pajamas today, she could always tell that she used OnePiece as pajamas. Shay left her hair loose, they were so curly and messy, curlier than usual, but girl didn´t have time to comb hair. Adriana grabbed her books and wand and run downstairs. Gryffindor's common room was also empty.

When Shay finally made it to the classroom she looked around. “Seriously, I´m not last? That's wonderful,” she gasped and tried to breathe. When Adriana felt a little bit better she sat down in the middle of class and put her books on the table and started eating toast she grabbed on the run. It was one odd morning.

Saoirse was snapped out of her revere by the entrance of that boy she had been partnered up with yesterday. Saoirse stuffed her hand in her mouth, quickly stifling a giggle at his attire. For an agonizing moment, she thought that maybe he was going to question her for the poorly disguised laugh, but then he smiled at her and waved at her with one pink pinky. Had her spell been that powerful? or did he just not bother to rid himself completely of the garish color?

Saoirse managed a small, but real smile back and raised her own hand in greeting. It always boosted her confidence a bit when others were kind her. For the most part, others believed that she was stuck up, and that's why she didn't talk to anyone; when really all it was only shyness.

The bell rung and Milo entered, looking incredibly hung over and tired. He was wearing gym shorts, a blue plaid robe, and pink bunny slippers. "Morning lovelies," he said, yawning as he entered. "Man, one of your professors can down jello shots like no other- no telling who, though," he said, smirking as he pushed himself up on the front desk, grinning bemusedly at all of them. "Remember my first lesson, where we all yelled? Let's do the opposite today, alright?" He summoned a cup of coffee, black, and took a drank.

"Mmm!" he said, remembering his note. "Right! Who has pajamas on! Way to go, Jordan! Take some points. Half-hearted attempts don't count Crewe. Classy, Kendall! Take some more for Gryffindor. Now, Evans- I said pajamas. You can't ignore dress code unless it's in the fashion I say so. It's either wizard robes or sleeping robes. Five points from Ravenclaw. Work hard and you'll earn them back."

He glanced around. "Right. So. Lesson plan. Hmm... what was it again? Oh, right!" He waved his wand and instructions appeared on the board. "Once you got it down, hang out or something, just no yelling." He paused. "Also, it may appear that this position might become permanent. So I will promptly get down to the business of nicknaming you all." He pointed at Cliff and said, "We already have Super Boy over here, so let's see what you all earn." He smirked.

"Hover Charms are simple, first years. Wingardium Leviosa." His mug began to lift in the air. "The trick is the swish and flick motion as well as your concentration. Second years, focus on sustaining a Hover Charm. Third years, if you perform a proper Summoning Charm I'd be astounded. If you can get your item at least halfway to you, be proud. Fourth years, you should ideally have summoned your item at least once by the end of the class. Again, concentration is key. As your book tells you, Accio is the incantation. Fifth and sixth years work on the Patronus. Fifth years may not be able to produce much during this lesson, but ideally you should be able to at least get a vague shape. Sixth years, work on sustaining and strengthening a Patronus. If you have done that, join the seventh years in practicing it nonverbally. Remember, the incantation is Expecto Patronum." He waved his wand, and feathers zoomed from the cupboards to the first years, and cushions arrived before the second, third, and fourth years. "Begin."

((I'm going to assume Milo was too tired to remember to bring feathers for the first years... Razz))

Saoirse sucked in a breath, not realizing that points would be lost for not showing in your pajamas. Didn't the note say 'feel free?' Didn't that imply that they had a choice? Luckily, Milo seemed to have missed her, for he hadn't taken any points from her. For not the first time in her life, Saoirse was grateful that she was practically invisible to most people.

Not seeing anything in front of her to make hover, Saoirse decided that perhaps she should try getting her quill to hover. Saoirse said the incantation, and swished and flicked, however nothing happened. She was just too tired, and didn't have the concentration.

"WINGARDIUM LEVIOSA!!" Saoirse shouted after having failed to make her quill rise an inch for the 20th time in a row.

She screwed her eyes into slits, concentrating as hard as she could. The quill did not move, however the chair that Cliff Jordan had been sitting in flopped into the air then crashed back down again. Too late, Saoirse realized that in her frustration, she had not aimed the wand when she flicked it. Apparently, she had flicked it in Cliff's direction.

"Oh! I'm so sorry!" she cried placing her hand over her mouth, horrified.
